  1. Easy 350km day with blue skies and freshly groomed trails all day. We started off with a nice big breakfast at Lac Taureau; what an amazing buffet they have on the weekend! Rolling by 10, quick blast down the lake to the doo dealer in saint michel for some oil, it was only $10/Litre cheapest I’ve ever seen it. We continued on to Cabanon where we had a quick fuel stop and chat with Denis who informed us of the poker run going on in the area, he said we should be out of the heavy traffic once we were north of the 360. We made it to Repos by 1 and the place was packed, 20 sleds lined up for gas and the lodge was standing room only! We continued on to Manawan for gas and a chocolate bar, this was the only rough trail we have seen all week but it was short and as soon as we were out of town freshly groomed all the way to Meekos. We arrived at 5, amazing dinner at 6:30 and the night was capped off with some GT’s and a big come from behind win for my Leafs! No surprise we were the only ones cheering for Toronto in the bar LOL. Sleds are fueled and sitting safely outside are room, early start tomorrow to bang off the last 85km to Village Windigo/truck & trailer and beat this storm for our 8 hour drive back home to the GTA.

  2. I have the same sled have about 3200mi. and I get better mileage than Mike (when he actually fills his all the way up!) Seriously it is a good running sled, plenty of power and a fella that I rode with has a 900 ace, (who was close to my weight) and I would take a quart more on fill up. I'm gonna throw a couple bags of cement on Mike"s sled then we'll see who gets better mileage! I like the way my 2015 Renegade handled better than this G4, not worse just different. Made a couple changes and will see how it handles next week in RDL.

  3. After the bumpy start this season it's been super-duper thanks! Game plan is to tour every other week as long as conditions permit. Yes sir, the Alpha is the daily driver (mental wellness therapy) mostly between Scarsdale & Mt Vernon.

  4. Well since I was basically taking this season off and only did one small trip before the first of the year and being sledless. Came across a 19 renegade x 600r loaded with 0 miles. Not ridden due to injury. My new ride!!! Anybody running the new 600r?

  5. Was just there Friday night for the first time in a lot of years. Trail came right into the parking lot at the hotel and the new restaurant is across the street where I did see trucks and trailers parked way down to the left but don’t know anymore than that. Here is a pic of a guy in our gang and 3 cool Ontario boys we met on the ferry and then 2 1/2 days later on the trail.

  6. My sweetspot is 45-75mph with the occasional wack of the throttle. I think this motor will do me just fine and with good mpg’s. After about 30miles on the g4 renegade I was riding I got a handle on the characteristics and with minor adjustments on the trail I was happy being it was a rental. Now I’ll make this sled my own!!! keep me in the loop as far as any issues with the motor.

  12. Wanted to share a few pictures of the big snow we encountered Thursday. We started the day at KM 31 headed to the Delta via 93 and the 383 south of the river. Only 50 miles of our 217 mile day was groomed. The snow was near 2ft for a lot of the ride. We broke trail for 50+ miles, then a group of 5 guys led. Never would have made it without them. It was one of rose days you never forget. It was Epic!

  13. Today is our last day of riding for this trip. Almost all the trails were groomed last night. We have some light snow in the forecast and big wind for today. I think we will stay in the woods. The open fields in Alma would not be our choice. We cross the two bridges one more time. 367 is fine as shown on the groomer map. In St Ambroise we turn left on 93 and again this is fine. We are on our way to Mont Vilain. Cruising along on 93 we turn right onto local 554. Hmm? I thought the sign at the beginning of the trail said 553 but the map says 554. The picture I took yesterday doesn't show the sign. We will call it 554 for now. Buzzing along and we slow down at Relais des Lac. Only a few sleds here and that one is Bill's. I can tell by the parking lights on it. That one is MichRev's. We weren't going to stop but we have to go in and see where they are going. Hi Bill and Dave. Just finishing up a coffee and water. Where are you going? Up to Mont Vilain. We are too. Sandi and I sit and have a hot chocolate. This is a short day so we can get back to the hotel and get the truck hooked to the trailer and do a few things to prep for tomorrow's ride home. Relax and chat about how good of a week of riding it has been. The four of us leave and go on 328 around the lake. Right on 553. The fields are drifted in some fields even though they were groomed last night. This time we take the local trail thru Lamarche and get on 373 to finish the ride to Mont Vilain. Not too busy during the week here. We order lunch and relax. It is snowing pretty good now. The wind is still strong. Over lunch we decide the best route back is the way we came up. Only a few fields. Most of the trails are in the woods. We get back on the sleds and u-turn. 367 to the local thru Lamarche and then 553 to 328. Around the lac and pass Relais des Lacs. No need to stop today. The temp is mild and we keep on riding. Left on 93, a right on 367 and cross the two bridges one last time. These are as bumpy as ever but after the bridges the trail is good. No need to gas up tonight and we pull into the Delta. Time to hook up the trailer and get a few things ready for the ride home tomorrow. It was great seeing so many QuebecRiders and riding with who we had the blessing to ride with. It was a great trip this past week. Thanks for reading along with us. We hope you got a few chuckles and enjoyment out of our posts. Is there one more trip this season for us? Home for a week and then we will decide. Thanks. Jack & Sandi

  14. I had a 2014 900 TNT ACE that I put 11,000 trouble free miles on. Then I had a 2014 Renegade 900 ACE I put 15,000 trouble free miles on. Always, and I mean always, started in the coldest weather. I am in Quebec right now with my new 2019 Renegade 900 ACE. After a day and a half I am already convinced it is even a better sled than the first two, if that is possible. I love this sled.

  15. I did have one problem, it would not hold rpm and ran fine at times and not so fine at others. I would have bet money it was the clutches but took to a dealer in QC and it wound up being a clogged fuel filter.
