    What an honour

Just for everyone's information , Saguenay Bill has this afternoon been honoured by FCMQ , saguenay snowmobile club and area tourism in naming a trail after him . Congratulations Bill well deserved , we were let into the big secret before we left last Thursday. It is a well deserved honour for all the work you do to promote the area. Enjoy the day very best wishes Gary and Pat..

  4. After a hectic ride up yesterday to shawinigan with massive vehicle pile ups on i15, sitting in one spot for close to 3 hours finally made it to the goevenour hotel. The plan was to ride to Sept isles. We shall see. First of all leaving this place sucks! Too much snow! Ended up riding the road to get to the bridge which was actually fine, they bladed the sidewalk. Drifts no tracks, limited signs, the river to deal with. Would not recommend this place. Anyway finally hit tq3 freshly groomed. Pretty nice most of the way East. Snow getting deeper the farther East you go and still super windy. Passed 2 groomers without the drags. Just trying to get the trails passable. You can tell there where massive drifts that they knocked down. In Bae St Paul for the night with 204 miles for the day. The plan is to continue East depending on conditions. Few pics before the wind picked up and battery quit

Hi Russ and Pam don't hold me to this but i was led to believe it's going to be the new rerouted 383 from the dam to 368 that's been closed for the last 2 years. Ok found out a bit more it's the 368 from junction of the 23 right up to the 383 about 48k section.... we love that trail it's one of Pat's favourite...

BTY a big kudos to the skidoo dealer down from the hotel. We had a frozen clutch on one sled. After several galant attempts, not wanting to destroy a belt, I gave them a call. They were down here within 15 minutes with a tracked quad runner and towed it back to their shop to warm it up. They called a couple hrs later said it was warm, they rode it and everything was ok. We went down to pick it up and they said N/C. It would be hard to find service like that, at least where we're from. Thank you

OK 4th try to post. We trailered up to Matane Saturday. We are trying out our new GT 900T. Sunday we head out of Matane. It’s 21f with gray sky’s. We take 591 toward Sayabec. The trail is in nice condition. I’m liking the feel of the new ride. We get on 5 toward Amqui. The trail is good. We ride to the Albertville club and gas up. Then we take 587 south. Again the trail is in nice condition. We take the local to L’Ascension-de-Patapedia. We are going to the lookout. The trail is a single track in deep powder. We make our way and take some pictures. Back to 587 toward Matapédia. It starts to snow. 587 is good. We reach 5 and head for Causapscal. The trail is showing signs of Sunday traffic. We make it to the hotel at 4:30 and the snow is coming down. We went 197 miles. At the hotel I am offered a spot in the car port. When I hit reverse to move the sled I get a message reverse failure on the dash. I found that one of the linkage bolts was missing. Now I have to get to the dealer tomorrow.

  14. Well day 2 the plan was to keep heading East and see how far we can go. TQ3 in great shape to 378 into st Simeon for lunch at small b&b. Owner said 93 closed to sacre cour and 3 closed from tadousac East. Ok plan b. Backtracked to the 83 up the clermont express which was stellar! To Auberge des battures for the night. 200 miles. Still a ridiculous amount of drifts in open areas. Looks like the elusive Cote Nord will have to wait!

  15. This area is where me and my gf started our Quebec riding it's a great area that is hard not to come back to. I usually recommend new riders to qc. To start in this area because of close proximity to towns and services.

  16. We rode this are last weekend and got home Monday afternoon on the tail end of the storm. We rode Thetford, QC, Montmagny, Tourville and Lac Etchemin regions. Great snow, in all these regions. The grooming services in this region are top notch so you should find epic conditions. Enjoy RR

  17. Spoke with one of the clubs yesterday, winds have calmed down and they had all 5 groomers out yesterday, he said all should be very good today! We will be up this Saturday, to start a saddlebag trip from there (Drummondville). Interactive map seems to support that this morning, and it will be cold this week so it should hold up.

  23. Wednesday morning Feb 27th Departed the ski hill at Mont Valin this morning heading to Sacre Couer via the 93. Have arrived in Sacre Couer, had a great ride down all the way. Some minor drifting first 10 km north of Sacre Couer, after that great from SC to Auberge 31. Mont Valin to Auberge 31 was groomed last night. Beautiful conditions Wind has stopped blowing and most of the snow has firmed up. Would say most of Mont Valin and all the areas that are treed will be groomed up and great conditions by tonight or tomorrow morning. The flat clear areas Saguenay had severe drifting. We had to avoid the past two days. Only speculating it will take a couple more days to get things back to normal there. To bad Bill wouldn't report. Lot of good QR people would benefit from a boots on the ground report right now.

  25. Better than not riding. Friend rolling in tonight, then a few more off and on the next couple weeks. I ride alone maybe a third of the time. I just love to ride, and I never get tired of the same loops out of RDL. Plenty of past years saddle bagging, just getting old, I guess. mike

  27. Normally that area is excellent riding, they do a good job grooming. But there are a lot of fields and open areas there that are prone to drifting. No new big snowstorms and if the winds die out, that area should be great. mike

Tuesday The hotel owner made some calls for us to check conditions. There is 100km winds. Roads are closed the schools are closed. We decide to stay put for today. I have to cancel a bunch of reservations. Tonight 3 people rode in from Carleton. It took them 6 hours. They said drifting on 5 was huge.

Ok pics not uploading. Monday It was one heck of a snow storm. I couldn’t get out of the hotel. The owner offered to take us to the dealer in his pickup. What super nice people. We go to Hallé ski Doo and they take care of me quickly. Great service many thanks. We get back to the hotel and I convince my better half to go for a ride. The trail is one track with high powder. We head over to the Albertville clubhouse. It’s a long 15 miles. When we reach the clubhouse we see a groomer without the drag opening up the trail. We stop for lunch. Then we head up 5 toward the radar mountain. 5 was opened up until Amqui. We got on 587 and we were in single track powder again. When we reached 591 it was impassable. We had to turn around and head back. On the way back we found that JG had passed through and left a white carpet for us. We went 60 miles.

  34. Gt Rider, did you start from the Universel? Would be great to say Hi. Joe, best I can tell, maybe 6 inches, but the drifting will take a day or two for the groomers to flatten out. Unbelievable winds. And Terry, George says it is too cold, he stayed home. He hasn't been the same since his ride to Amqui with EddieSkidoo and SkiDoo420. You must remember, George's former life was on a two up Grand Touring. George didn't like the triple digit speeds. He is going to counseling.

  36. Arrived late afternoon to RDL. Rode out to the club house and back. Cold, extremely strong winds, and mega drifting. I am sure many trails are not passable. Trails looked freshly groomed last night but in a few places it was hard to get through the drifts. From the club house tried to go west on Trail #5 but looked blocked big time by drifts Room 165 (way out back). mike
