  1. Well it’s the final run of the season, 4 of us met at camp in lake George Phil1, scranton1, me and Eric to finalize the plans for the run. After cocktails and pizza and a lot of great ideas we accomplished nothing! Plan was to drive to matawin and wait for Trailblazer and playhard to meet up and have a second pow wow to figure out where to. Finally at 1:30 we’ll head to Lac Eduard for the night at gite Lac Eduardo great little place. Trails super soft a little whooped in the corners but light traffic. All in all a good first day which was a bonus day anyway. 100 miles blue skys! Still up on the fence to head west or East once at the lake in the morning.

    4 Day Trip

Day 1: Left Wilson Mills Maine for Quebec City (Quebec In) 260 miles. X through NH. Great running. Nobody on trails! 03/20/19 Day 2: Quebec City to Jonquière (Delta) 235 miles. Good trails for most part. Little bumpy from Saint Raymond to L’Etape. Getting very thin around Jonquière. 03/21/19 Day 3: Jonquière to North Quebec City (Signature hotel, old 4 Points) 230 miles. Took 83 south, Clermont Express. Fresh snow in the hills, wet in the valleys. Over all good running. 03/22/19 Day 4: Quebec City trailered across and headed back to Wilson Mills via Couburn Gore ME. Fresh snow the further we got south. Around Lac Megantic and Wouburn QC, there was 18 inches of fresh snow. Broke trail 50 % of the way. Still a great adventure. 280 Miles. Great trip: little over 1000 miles 4 days.

    Late March ride

Just back from a great dinner here. One of the best parts of sledding is reliving the day and laughing with good friends after a day out on the trails. Always an adventure...and always fun memories !

    Late March ride

We had a ball. Beautiful day ! They got 10+ Id say. Got turned up 75N instead of 55N then onto a club trail with trees down....right outa the gate. HaHa. First 2 hours we cut 3 trees across trails and u turned twice in the first 20 miles. Yikes. Rough start. Ended up back onto 75 to 35....both ungroomed but good riding. Turned off onto 547 to 549. Very pretty ride thru that park and then back to 55 and looped back. Not many miles overall but big fun. 125-130. Id guess parts of 55 were groomed overnite but it was between good to not bad. Just saw the groomer leave the club here and head down 75S. Basicly for almost April...thrulled to be out there at all. Still alot of snow here. Roads were good today but the sun will make them tough fast. Get out there soon. Back to Jackman to load up and drive home tomorrow.

    Late March ride

So we left Jackman early Friday AM. Planned a large loop that would go out around and come back the Beauceville Golf Resort. Stopped at Armstrong so 2 in our group could get passes. While there it started snowing....fast, hard, and wet heavy snow. By the time we got to the first turn we were to take off 75...545...which is 7 miles from Armstrong, visibility was already just brutal. I call an audible and stayed straight to take a direct route toward Beauceville. Last thing I was wanting to do but we just could barely see the trail. After several stops to clean off the sheild and glasses...waste of time..we stopped at the Beauceville clubhouse. Very nice spot. Had a great lunch and dried off a little. Gassed up. Roughly 70-75 miles. Lame...but it made sense..and we still had a great but short day. After hanging a while we went on to the Golf hotel...about a mile up the trail. Nice (swanky) hotel. Had a great dinner here last night as the snow poured on all day into the nite. So temps are right about barely freezing. Lots of new snow. Assuming no grooming but plenty of snow to plow thru today. Planned on a loop to Tourville today but who knows what the riding will be like with this deep ungroomed. Cant wait to find out though ! Will play it by ear. We are staying here at Golf tonite as well...and back to Jackman in the morning. When this does get groomed this week it will be mint around here although we arent going to get to see it.

  20. You don't have to go too far north to find snow cover! I'm only a 20 minute drive north of the Masson-Cumberland ferry, and this is what our place looks like at 9:30 this morning ... at a whopping -9 degrees C.!

  22. Left Gaspesiana, the trail in/out is OK for now, with just the tips of the farm field hills as bare dirt, maybe 10-20 feet long. We took 578 West, and then in trying to cut inland I made the mistake of taking the 579. All good for a while, then a detour and plowed road for several miles into Domian Valga. Oh well, at least we're riding ;<) From Valga South to 5 was nice fluffy trail. We heard of issues on 5 and its closer to the coast, and there is a logging note on iMotoneige so we took the 35 to St Loius Du Ha Ha (same way we rode out on) to stay in elevation. All good there and up 85 to RDL. The gravel parking pan Universal is nearly 100% snow free, and much is thawing so its getting muddy. Had to move the rigs to a snow covered corner to load. Shorter ride than expected, but spring time flexibility kept us dry ;<) We arrived home Thursday night, all dry driving except the last hour. Its definitely spring riding conditions most anywhere on the coast. If you're planning to go Gaspe, get it done, and plan to focus on the interior and not try to loop the perimeter unless it gets/stays cold and 10" new snow comes. Grooming is still happening around the perimeter, but the trails are solid, not much to work with. Mashed potatoes in the warm days makes for Popeye arms to steer, and re-freeze at night. Inland still has nice snow, and the Chic Chocs are still awesome. Shoot for elevation.
