    Spring Riding

Still plenty of snow. Probably 2 more weeks of riding. Sketchy getting out of Laurier but plenty good if you drop at the Airport. 13, 63, 53 all very good. Outfitters are closing.... 100 lacs has gas but closed other than that as is Meekos. Food and fuel at Unik Fer A Cheval may be closing too so call ahead. Piteman still grooming out of St Anne but limited hours at the restaurant and motel so call there too. Trails are great above st Anne. Getting beat a bit close to Laurier. Be heading out again thursday 😁

As another season winds Down, My club posted this on FB about volunteers as a tribute to them and an encouragement to get involved. While the commentary is in French I am sure the message comes through and it is a nice clip reminding us of the great season we just had and it doesn’t happen without lots of volunteers behind the scenes.

You guys had the best spring run in years! Real jealous that I parked the sled the end of March! Great reporting 603. December is only 8 months away!! Happy Trails RR

Who was it used to say they subscribed to two magazines for the same reason, National Geographic and Playboy: “To see pictures of places I know I’ll never get to visit in person”

  5. I have met Jim in person a couple of times and yes he is hardcore! I remember meeting him in Amqui when he was leading a group around the Gaspe and when the boys were leaving the hotel in the morning there were several guys trying to strap half cases of bottle beer on their running boards! I never laughed so hard! Jim didn't say a word to them as we both knew the outcome! LOL ps: I have an old business card from him and I am pretty sure at that time he lived in PA.

Another eventful day we left km 31 and headed west thru some bush trails and ended up on the west side of the pipmicuan reservoir. Headed north to chutes de passes, from there we headed east to track the north side of the reservoir snow was deep once again. We had a fuel pump problem on one of the 850’s so we loaded it onto the Sleigh and towed it back to km 31. Also broke the tongue off one of the sleighs but we repaired it trailside. 301 miles for the day and in by 9:15 pm. Time to eat, signing out for the evening 603 backcountry

  8. Amen to that. Bill told me in February that he wasnt on because the Delta wasnt an advertiser, and he stays there,... something to that effect. Still makes no sense, Why would he care? I know his last post was about his on board fire extinguisher, a couple of folks replied and i dont think he liked the replys. That was Last year... Ice took exception to a reply someone gave him on his trip in early February and he replyed back. His reply was removed and I guess that was enough to cause him to go MIA. Its a real shame because we all go to this site for real time info from the serious riders who live there. Their knowledge, stories, advice is what made this site. I cant offer diddly from down here in Cow Hampshire about anything current up there. The reality is we are rewarded by Iceman, Bill and others being on here, They dont really get much back in return, so when they go, its Our loss.

Day 5 from Manicouagan reservoir back to km 31, pushing miles and miles of snow, snow was really sticky and we were chewing up fuel and oil faster than whimpy eats burgers. Arrived last night into km 31 around 7 pm with 300 miles for the day a big day for sure. The teamwork of this group led by Team Maine’s Early Rider is nothing short of amazing. After 1,000 miles of extremely adverse conditions not being on any marked trail this is truly an adventure not for the faint of heart. Take care signing off from km 31. 603 Backcountry
