  2. It's probably worthwhile considering that Ontario, whose trail network and membership numbers are quite similar to Québec, have sold their trail passes exclusively online for about five years now. Anyway, at this point in time, our kitchen table would normally our be covered in the Club paperwork that our secretary had gathered up by travelling all over the country (at his own expence, I might add). My wife (the club treasurer) would be going out of her mind counting and recounting upwards of sixty grand in small bills (while trying to calculate the applicable taxes) and I'd be trying to input the data from 400 poorly written pass slips filled out in gas bars, dealerships and dépanneurs. Instead, this year we've simply received semi-weekly emails detailing just how much money was directly deposited into our bank account (with taxes already calculated), and I have access to a database where the info has already been entered. And ... to top it off ... our club is 27 members to the good over last year. If we had a bottle of champagne ... we'd pop it! I guess Molson's Ex will do ...

  3. That is an excellent story. I believe the online only permits are such a huge win for all those hard working volunteers like yourself and everyone else that was doing the same thing you just talked about. Cheers to a better system!!

  9. You could attach a drag to these two and cut your grooming times in half. Later GutZ

  12. So I turned around and headed back towards Amos with the intent of going back north again towards Pikogan on the SAME trail I just came from an hour ago. That’s when it happened BAM.....double fresh groomed heading north. I’m like how the hell did they do this in an hours timeframe. And the second grooming track overlapping is heading south. So I get back to Piko and still double groomed north with no tracks. I get to St Felix still double groomed north. At this point I’m just like who cares.....Go to the depanneur in St Felix to warm up and grab some supplies.

  15. We had a gorgeous blue sky day yesterday, and conditions actually have improved in the high country, with several inches of snow falling since the rain. We did make it down to the Escoumin club house yesterday, the conditions down there are very hard with no lube. The Pelchat trail from the mountain is rough for most of the middle section. A good 250 mile day. The new expeditions continue to give great results and the Renegade 900T lengthened to 146, goes very nice too! We are pleased with the sled builds this year. A run Northwest today Happy Trails RR

    The Challenge

*** Update *** With the snow last week we were able to take it out and check the performance and see if we needed to tweak anything. It ran great!! But we only had about a 1/4 mile of field to test it in and 1/2 of it was up hill. Need more room. Smooth in the woods, vicious when you smack the throttle. NOS seems to work too!! LongHair was upset there was no blue flame like in the movies. This is my general feeling when we pull it out to give a ride: Hang on for a full test in a few weeks. GutZ
