  3. Yesterday was a ride to L'Anse St Jean. 83 was in fine shape. 383 was good at the beginning but was bumped up as we got closer to Riviere-Eternite. The top half of the trail is wide and was good. When we got into the woods, it was bumped up in the corners. At L'Anse St Jean, the groomer had come up from the south. I just looked at the groomer map and 383 shows groomed down to Baie St Catherine. Lunch, gas and a u-turn back to the Delta. Another fine day of riding. It was great seeing so many riders this past week. The trails have been spectacular. The amount of grooming that is done each night by the groomer operators is hard to fathom. Thanks for your dedication and making our vacation trips so enjoyable. We are heading home today. Probably coming back up next week to retrieve the trailer and get a couple more days of riding in. Take care and ride safe. Jack & Sandi

  7. Hi everyone, Sorry we haven't responded. The internet here is very sporadic. I get in the hotel's site and then it drops out and I have to reboot the computer to get back in. A lot of other people are having the same problem so its not me or my settings. Sandi's phone is doing it too. Thanks for all the comments. We are really lucky it happened in the hotel parking lot. We missed the bullet on that. The trailer should be ready later this week. We are going home tomorrow, Monday, and then come back up maybe the beginning of next week. For the trail conditions, we haven't seen the trails this good in along time. The first day out we took 93 to La Chapel and that had a few chatters in the corners around St Honore but from the groomers house on the mountain all the way to La Chapel it was perfect. It made me think back twenty years when it was like that all the time. Farmer Old and Tammy are riding with us. Always good company. The next day we went to Mont Vilian for lunch on 367 and then dropped back down to 93 in Alma. Another really good ride. Not much traffic and the trails are smooth. Friday we did the Milot truck stop run. South of us was getting hammered with the snow. We had a few inches. We went to Alma on 93, out thru St Monique and up and around to the truck stop. A good lunch here. There is a new Petro Can gas station in the parking lot of the restaurant. Brand new. We got gas there and didn't have any problems. I know in the past, the old station had some issues with bad gas on occasion so we always avoided gassing up at the truck stop. It should be fine now. We went to Mont Vilian on the way back to stop in and see Anik. She always has a warm welcome for everyone. The last part of the day, the fresh snow was getting deeper. By the time we got back to the Delta, there was a good 6" on the ground. Just a quick update for all of you. Jack & Sandi

Left Oliphant Ontario in a snow storm. Arrived in Mt Laurier just after 7 p.m., stayed at the Confort Inn. Woke up to lots of sledders and -31, still going to send it. Unloaded the trailer, Father and Son both with new suits mother got jealous and "my zipper is broken, I better get a new suit" After the visit to the wallet lighting dealership, did the tourists thing... Went to Mount Diablo, then for a swim at Windigo Chutes. On to St Anne du Lac for lunch. Them to Pourboirie Fer a Cheval for a great meal and great hospitality. Woke up to -29

  16. Great day today. Back to RDL from Amqui. Went the lake route up and over to 5 which was great for a while. Took the long way when we hit moguls on 5 near Rimoski before where the 35 splits off...so we went the longer route and it paid off. 240 miles today and mostly stellar trails. Big fun. I need a beer now. 😆

  20. While eating breakfast (great) at the Central a few minutes ago met a French guy (Paul) and his wife who rode with Jim a couple trips up here over the years. It was him that was in the accident. He is ok and riding over in the UP now I guess. The other guy involved in the accident from Ontario broke his femur.

  25. Two weeks ago the ice trail to the island was not staked out. Helecoptors were taking people back and forth. If it open, they put trees in the ice marking the way. It starts at one of the landings the island folks leave their cars at. Coming back from Amqui on Trail #5, trail starts behind the Isle de Verti club house on Trail #5. It does add extra time going that route but a very nice ride. mike

  26. Never too safe in this hobby Mike ! Especially with bad weather. Lots of ungroomed snow in the trails but very few bumps. Still able to clip along at 50+ in many area since it was flat underneath. Very little traffic first half to Tourville. Moderate traffic from there in. Looks like 90%+ of our route to Amqui was groomed last nite. Taking the 35 route out the the 5 route back tommorow assuming its in good shape. Weather has been cold but nice. No complaints ! Is there access to that little tiny river island clubhouse this year ? Thinking of looking for it on our way back tomorrow.

  33. We've got a buddy who's a doc of physical therapy and her mantra for that is: "EOS" May sound silly & simple, and it's easy to forget/neglect while riding, but when I pull back my posture to "ears over shoulders" all kinds of bad stuff in the neck & shoulders & arms goes away.

    2 sledders rescued TQ3

During the storm they were stuck and unable to get out. On TQ3. https://www.zone911.com/divers/28928-tempete-de-neige-deux-motoneigistes-secourus-par-les-policiers Stuck and lost on a trail in the middle of a snowstorm Snowmobile police officers from the Sûreté du Québec rescued two snowmobilers "stuck in the snow and lost" on a trail between Côte-de-Beaupré and Charlevoix. It was the snowmobilers themselves who contacted 9-1-1, around 5 p.m. yesterday. According to the Sûreté du Québec, the snowmobilers found themselves in difficult climatic conditions, the visibility was almost zero. They were unable to get out of this situation. It was only around midnight, thanks to GPS coordinates, that the snowmobile police of the Sûreté du Québec were able to locate them on trail 3 in the St-Tite-des-Caps sector.
