  1. Merci beaucoup Robert! Doing fine in NY, next door to the now famous New Rochelle, and respecting precautions! Being a rock-solid optimist I'm pretty sure that widespread testing will show widespread infection, which will (hopefully) put the death rate well below the flu. Still gotta be serious about not "sharing" with high-risk folks. Safe protocol is for everyone to act-as-if you're contagious. We're also in a recession-proof and now officially designated "essential" business, distributing cellphones & service thru about 650 small neighborhood retailers around the northeast. Pretty cool gig for almost 40 years, supporting mom & pop shops putting food on their tables. Done all Carriers over the years, currently exclusive to Boost Mobile prepaid, saving low-income folks lots of dough. Got 90% of our crew of 40 logged-in & dialed-in working remotely, spreading much kindness & compassion, and a few hardcore crew working the warehouse (safely & cleanly). We stopped walk-in/pick-ups with locals a while ago, but we're providing free-shipping as long as UPS & FedEx keep rolling. Naturally having a tough time sourcing bulk N95 masks & hand sanitizers to ship out. Personally, I've never been much of a hand-washer, but I have suspended licking public doorknobs to build my immune system (at least temporarily)! And shhhh!... Don't tell anybody, cuz people will think we be crazy, but the Mrs. & I went for a walk around our block TWICE so far this week! Hoping you and yours all fare as well as possible! 2. Mike, the dealer I use in New Hampshire finished this year with almost no inventory left over and they are a big dealer, best position they have had in years. Now they are open, but have basically no customers. I am willing to bet that this covid 19 situation has put most , if not all plans way on the back burner. Today I would like to reach out to our good friends like play hard, gt rider and Mrs. and all our other members who are living in NYC and surrounding areas to wish them the very best through this nightmare. I cannot imagine living in NYC thru this. This morning on the news they said they were expecting 50% of New Yorker's to contract the disease, Prayers to our friends, Be Well, Bob.

  3. I want to start by saying my hats off to all the members that post pictures and do write ups every night during their Quebec snowmobile adventures. Some like Snowmaster2112 and others updating us a couple times through their day. I have been very lazy this year, never posted a picture or write up and been on five trips to Quebec this winter. My first trip was December 17 and last trip ended March 22, the last official day due to Covid. Pictures are going to be fewer and further between now except for Groomer who thankfully never stops sharing pictures. So I thought to make up for my laziness all winter I would share a few of my pictures this winter. Hopefully some of these remind you of some p!aces you have traveled or places you have plans to ride.

  5. Great pictures, I never wanted to stop to take any-lol. Did realize later had lots of nice flat trails but nothing with great back ground like first post. One picture below is out of my truck window in Quebec and other was showing a new experience riding with the wife on same sled, neither thought we would like it but it is good. Lots of my photo's look grey blueish because it always snows! I generally ride with friends and now my wife wants to go more to Quebec which is great. Picked up a Mission helmet for the cold days, just not sure what higher windshield to get for my XRS.

If you take advantage of the current exchange rate..then leverage your gains on a short sale of the S&P index..convert back to CDN and use the 24 months no payment backed with a 4 year warranty you might end up with a heated garage for the sunshield that works so well you have to crack the helmet open every time you stop for air...lol PS sorry I couldn’t help myself, I figured we could all use a little levity right now and yes the instructions above will still be good in 2 weeks

  10. Seems like a fair goal to get the trail miles equal to or greater than truck miles!

  12. As far as the economy who would of believed a virus could do this. The Canadian dollar was weak before the virus hit I believe. All of this does make me wonder how really bad this virus is. Are we not being told everything. Am I being paranoid, I hope so. Where I am I think there has been only one confirmed case in the county but rumors have it Fort Drum has cases. I can't amagine what some are going through. I thing we do have to think about is. As all of us beings snowmobile riders we all think we are still active enough not to get this stuff. Anyway my wife and I were talking about it and were both thinking it seems to effect the elderly the most and it hit me that we are part of the elderly. Be safe all.

  15. I was going to snowcheck but due to Covid I am going to keep my powder dry. I worked in a fairly recession proof industry at a large public (medical) company and we are seeing sales decline. Reps cannot get into hospitals to sell; service cannot get in to fix/maintain equipment. Bonuses will still pay out (fiscal year ends today), but merit increases are on hold. Hiring freeze in place. I still may buy off the showroom in the fall, but just didn't want to commit with all the unknowns.

Not sure myself how many miles. Did three solid weeks with the forth dashed by the pandemic. 3-4 K MILES Have a real HAPPY PLACE to go to on the off season. Last day of touring Cote Nord trip #3 left did 2 hour morning 80 mile trip end run on fresh crisp White asphalt groomed trail. Weather was blue sky not too cold not too warm. Cruising 80-90 mph elevated terrain with sweeping corners. Priceless memory of the site of real estate go by and the tune of the 850 Rotax singing " This is sledding " Happy sledding Happy Life to all. Be safe in the off season !

  21. For sure, but 35 percent unemployment right now and Canadian dollar tanked big time, looking like a big recession on the way. We all knew this great economy would not last, but no one saw this coming, stock market is also down 30%, everyone is taking a big hit.

  22. I believe and I may be wrong that Ski doo and other maker have a large number of parts already made ready for assembly. I would think they would want to get these parts sold and not sit on inventory for a year. Some times I would think even huge companies would want to promote selling at cost even rather then sit on product for who knows when. Maybe the Canadian banks will help. Only My Thoughts.

3200 kms on new sled, 2400 in Quebec Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, rest in Ontario- I had a crazy busy winter at work but also had three trips cancelled last minute all for good reasons including last weeks due to Covid. Trails and hospitality were excellent as always, looking forward to some trips in Mt Valin, Saguenay and Gaspe next season.

Only able to complete two trips from PA to Quebec. Amazing two great weeks, with the massive snowstorm on Feb. 27th. Our trail sleds were not liking that powder at all but it was fun. Everyone stay safe and have a great summer. Hope to see you all on the trails next year. 3494 km - 2171 miles Kyle & Mike

Some impressive miles many of you put on this season. Can’t wait until l’m retired so we can spend more time in Quebec. We did 4 trips from Ontario to Quebec 4,800 km, 3,000 miles Mont Laurier Cote Nord Gaspe twice Spend last week doing the Gaspe and a side trip into New Brunswick with my wife. Great trip with ideal conditions to finish the season. Numbers l’m not so happy with: 7,200 km total on the truck for the 4 trips 72 hours truck travel time. Everyone have a great summer and let hope we get through the present challenges ok. Steve

I rode about 6,600 miles this season. Conditions out of RDL were excellent this year between mid January and mid March with only a couple short warm ups and no real rain events. I am thankful for all the friends that came up and rode with me, we had a great time. mike

  32. I got to ride 25 days this year and managed 5249 miles, got over the border with 2 hours to spare before they closed it down on both sides late last week. One of the rides was 1950 mile solo event during the 35 below cold snap, oxygen helmet and absolute zero jacket were the best investment I have made in years, never cold, first 4.5 days saw no other riders.Finished the season with snowmaster and friend Jeff, wonderful season!!

4000 miles on my 2020 xrs turbo. And about 250 miles on tug hill biggest year for me ever. I was lucky to get my last ride in before this covid 19 got real bad. But snow up in the north country has me wanting more.

Unretiring after the first of the year did not bode well for many trips. That, coupled with a mild winter back home, = low miles. 1477 miles on one Quebec trip, and about 30 more on a muddy Saturday run on Tug Hill. I guess I’ll take the glass half full approach. Winter ended with feelings of wanting more riding, rather than feelings of I’ve had enough...if that makes sense?

  36. My season ended (reluctantly), on 15 March with 3000 miles. Wanted to get one more week in starting on the 22nd, but as we all know that isn’t going to happen. Many many smiling miles though, for the season!!! Looking forward now to doing a spring order for a new SIDEWINDER LTX GT!! It’s going to be a loooong summer. Almost time to get the boat out! To everyone on QR, enjoy your summer!!! SNAPPY HANK

  37. Yes they do that, but the trail is whopped up feeder trail. They play indy passing each other because they run no snow flaps. ! In the ICEMAN video those guys are running 3" X 175 s on groomed trail. STUPID

  38. Moved back home on Saturday. Only used my phone for to get on line. Laptop screen makes that trip more scary. They say the super long track sleds don't go fast but by the looks of that they can get you hurt.

  40. These guys are not trail riding. These are the trails from the parking lot that gets them to elevation. But yes, one guy completely on the wrong side of the trail and the other passing on the right. If he didn’t lock up the brake and stayed on the throttle he might have made it lol. But that shows you these guys are mountain riders and not trail riders.
