  1. “Ultimate Arctic Cat Journey” is Complete with Warm Welcome in Thief River Falls Bob Steeves, an avid Arctic Cat snowmobiler, has talked about snowmobiling from his home in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, to the Arctic Cat plant in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, for the last 40 years. Last week, Bob, 80 years old; his son Lorne; good friend Trueman Copp, who is 74; and Trueman’s son Trevor completed the more than 2,800-mile, “Ultimate Arctic Cat Journey” to Arctic Cat’s headquarters in Thief River Falls, Minn. The journey was completed on three 2018 Thundercats and a 2020 Riot 8000. “We ran into so many people who recognized us when we stopped that were following our journey. It was amazing,” said Lorne Steeves. “We had no issues with the sleds, they were bulletproof.” The journey took them from Moncton, New Brunswick through Quebec where they crossed the Ottawa River into Ontario. In Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, they met Arctic Cat dealer River City Motorsports who drove them across the border. Once in the United States, the foursome headed across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan into Wisconsin, and then into Minnesota. When they arrived in Thief River Falls, they were greeted by current Arctic Cat employees and former executive and Hall of Fame member Roger Skime with a banner signed by the plant commemorating the epic journey, took a plant tour, and enjoyed dinner with members of the Arctic Cat team. “We had such a warm welcome from everyone at Arctic Cat. I’ve never met such nice people than those working in the Arctic Cat plant,” added Steeves. The memories of the two-and-a-half-week journey will last a lifetime and is a true testament to the passion for the brand that only Arctic Cat snowmobilers understand. #UltimateACATJourney

    RDL 2021: Plan B

I want to give an update on Maine and how it may affect sledding in the state this winter, especially should the Canada border stay closed. Maine is starting to slowly open up. Except for three counties, (not good areas to ride), the other thirteen counties have opened their hotels and restaurants including inside dining. Social distancing must be observed as to the layout of tables inside restaurants. Maine has a fourteen day quarantine for out of state tourists. However, New Hampshire and Vermont residents are now exempt due to the low number of cases in those two states. Maine will also allow anyone from ANY state to skip the fourteen day quarantine if the out of stater gets a Covid test from their home state before entering Maine. They must be in Maine within seventy two hours after having the test. When you arrive at a hotel in Maine, and in order to get a room, you will have to sign a waiver that says you took a test in the past seventy two hours and the test came out negative. At the moment you do not have to show paperwork showing your test results, but that is subject to change. So Maine is still looking good as an alternative to Canada should the border not open. About four weeks ago I sent an e-mail to our governor suggesting she allow people from states with low Covid outbreaks to enter Maine as tourists. Maybe she listened. After all, she is a fellow kayaker and fly fisherman. mike

Yep! And while we're at it let's lock our wives and our dogs in the trunks of our cars for a couple of hours and come back and see who's happy to see us! (I gotta get a dog)

I am getting a little concerned with all the recent new cases here in the states, If this blows back up because of the protesters and early openings we will be set back another 90 days, not good, I am really hoping for Jan 1st, but I know the only one you can count on do the right thing is yourself and your immediate friends/ family.I am sure my late September Alaska trip will be a no, not too happy about that, but no sledding will be much worse. Way back in the beginning we were preaching, JUST STAY HOME. Pretty simple, and it works. Guess it wasn't communicated in enough languages, not that hard to understand, so we all pay the price . We all have been surrounded by too many people who were not thinking well, or just do not care about those around them. should have been some consequences for not doing the right thing.

  13. Just putting it into common sense perspective...All our docs and nurses just went through the most dangerous time of their careers, and were over whelmed on top of it, and these clowns go out and protest by the millions, shoulder to shoulder...absolutely zero respect for anyone...including themselves . You know a lot of people died trying to save sick people, and none of them ever considered the race or color of the patient, you know we have a pretty damn good country here, filled with a lot of really caring people , who work hard for people every day, if you do not break the law, every thing goes pretty well. Breaking the law started this whole thing.

  14. I am in my 60's, worked very hard , now I am on the side that wants to live and enjoy what I have worked for for 5 decades, like riding my sled, or Harley, or casting my fly rod in the wilderness, shooting pheasants with my best friend, my lab, enjoy time with my friends, no place or time in my life for this bullshit. This whole thing is just insulting to all the good people who have worked hard and tried to do the right things .

  15. Just when you think, man this has been one hell of a screwed up year, and ypu say to yourself...self, I cannot believe the things that have gone down in the last three months. Am I dreaming some kind of nightmare? No sadly it’s not. It’s reality sadly, and just when you think you seen it all. Now the call to abolish police? YGTBFK. Time is coming folks. Gonna need to pick a side. Who’s side you on? And why no mention of the Police killed and Injured in the last week? I am outraged at the majority of the nonsense being spewed. Go ahead let’s try no police, then we need no courts or lawyers either. Just good old Militia patrolling. I like the odds on things getting cleaned up rather quickly by real citizens who love their country and will do what it takes to preserve the American Way for their families. You want street justice? Be careful what you ask for.
