  1. Wanted to give an update on Covid and Maine. Maine has been one of the safest states during the pandemic. However, like the rest of the country, we have seen a huge upswing of cases, posativety rate going up from .4 to almost 3, and cases going from a couple dozen a day to the mid 200's per day. Another surge is expected in a week or so due to people gathering for Thanksgiving. Most Maine testing sites need an appointment and are generally now booked several days out. Out of state folks entering Maine (except currently Vt & NH) need to quarantine 14 days upon entering Maine or get a negative Covid test. To get a lodging room, people from out of state need to show the lodge a certificate of compliance form. Masking is now expanded to cover even when outdoors.

  9. Over the years I have run probably 2 dozen different sleds, some modified sleds with 200 to 235 hp. I had sleds with 225 studs, 144 studs, etc. 20 years ago when properly done, when the tracks were heavier, I never had a problem. Today with the lighter tracks and better clutching I have seen a lot of studs pull out and ruin heat exchangers. I now have 2 850's a backcountry with a 1.6 and an Extreme with a 1.8. I never thought I would be without studs until I rode these sleds, they hook up very well and I have not found the need to go back to studs, last season I rode 5600 miles with no issues. I do know that they stop better and hook up well, but that being said, I never had a sled hook nearly as well as the extreme. It is a personal choice for sure, I guess if I was younger and hanging at the lake all day racing 1/4 miles I would use them. But for sure when out on the trail a thousand miles from my truck, I feel good not worrying about a self induced coolant leak.

You're absolutely right. A 38 hp fuel injected Kohler with a remotely controlled solenoid to start and stop the blades. The positioning of the cutter is done using the hydraulics for the wings on the blade. They are sold by the Québec distributor for Pisten Bully, Mécanique J. Clair and they are super folks to deal with. I believe the unit itself is manufactured by one of J. Clair's local machine shops, Usinage JS. There are additional videos of the brusher on Louis Dufour's channel. P.S. I don't know what the hurry is ... are those guys not paid by the hour?? PP.S. If videos promoting non-members are frowned upon, feel free to delete the following:

  11. without making publicity !!! just to let you know !!! jean-guy A major transaction was concluded between two family businesses in La Matanie when André Hallé et fils became the new owner of Amable Caron et fils. 68 years after its founding, the company born in Saint-Luc-de-Matane passes the torch to another family business in the region, André Hallé et fils, which will integrate all the Honda and Husqvarna product lines thanks to its new acquisition. . All employees, including a mechanic specializing in Yamaha products, will also join André Hallé's team. The rich history of Amable Caron and his wife Thérèse Fortin dates back to 1952 when the business opened. Two years later, the business moved to the heart of the city under the name of Matane Chainsaw and became the sole retailer of Honda motorcycles in Matane in 1967. Yamaha snowmobiles then made their debut in 1969. It was finally in 1993 that Amable Caron transferred his business to his sons Michel and Sylvain who took up the torch even though they were already working in the business. “When my parents retired, my brother and I took over. There aren't many businesses around here that have been established for almost 70 years. Moreover, the clientele is also family. When parents were satisfied, the children were seen to become customers years later. I would also like to take this opportunity to warmly thank all our customers who have supported us over the years, ”says Sylvain Caron. For Amable Caron's son, André Hallé's offer to purchase was welcome. “I was nearing retirement and it's a company that has grown along with us. We know them well and there is a lot of respect and trust between our two companies. " This is how a page turns but the story continues while the activities will be centralized at André Hallé et fils. “It is an honor for us to take over the business and keep it in the region. We are also happy to integrate two new product lines into our business. We are also looking forward to welcoming Amable Caron et fils customers to our premises, ”concludes one of the co-owners, Philippe Hallé,

  12. A Very Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! And happy bargain hunting tomorrow! (that particular mania has migrated north, by the way. I'm not sure if we'll get to return the favour with Boxing Day madness... !).

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanks MrGutz. Hope everyone enjoys the day. I still recall the year where I celebrated 2 Thanksgivings, one on each side of the border. Sugar pie for dessert was a nice touch.

Hope is not a plan for sure, With that said hearing rumblings of a plan to re-open border to USA with a rapid Covid test required for entry. 24 hour quarantine while awaiting results, then good to go. cannot confirm this as solid but thought I would throw it out to you.

  16. What we have here is a classic example of “be careful what you wish for” all those who signed petitions and fought to close the P’tit train du nord trail are surely exactly like this group of unhappy campers, Now as the other people along the closed section of trail are hugging their trees and singing coom ba yah, This group of their companions will just have to deal with it. Remember it’s better to be pissed off than be pissed on. (Unless you are into that) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that basically the MTQ told the residents to go kick rocks as it’s their right of way and they can do what they see fit with it. Surely will be a hotbed of police activity as was the former trail. Personally does not affect me as it’s not an area I would normally pass through anyway but for those who been waiting for it to make a comeback I am happy for you.

  17. If border stays closed i'll be spending my 3 weeks i usually spend in Qc on the beach in Negril. Haven't even opened the trailer since i parked it in the trailer after the last trip end of March. Maine will be packed and I personally have no patients for crowds and whopped trails. Maybe March riding when everyone is done and the best riding is to be found
