  2. Continued....those who ride will respect the hours of switchbacks the western mountains provide....99.9% of the people outside of Jackson Hole & the Tetons were PATRIOTIC...Sadly the far west state theory has crept into J.H. & Teton Village. 4 days- 3600 miles R/T w/ truck & trailer from NY to Sturgis SD. 2580 miles on the bike -in 12 days - SD, WY, MT & back to trailer & truck in SD.

  3. Recently returned from a sixteen-day MC road trip. We fled Southeast NY on June 1destined for Sturgis SD, pulling the trailer. After arriving we separated from the truck & trailer & hugged the road on two wheels burning fuel in South Dakota, Cody Wyoming, Jackson Hole Wyoming, Teton Village, West Yellowstone & Red Lodge Montana. After departing W Yellowstone we traveled to Red Lodge Montana by means of the Bear Tooth Highway. After departing R.L. Montana we reversed our direction traveling again over the Bear Tooth where we accessed the Chief Joseph Highway returning to Cody for another night, as we found Cody to be most enjoyable earlier in the week. For those interested here a few pics.... Happy 4th......God Bless - Happy Birthday America. The good 'ol USA needs all the blessings she can get. Ginny I & wish all of our Canadian members a Happy Canada Day weekend! Best to each of you, Paddy O

    Covid 19 Discussion

It is a start, border closing has been tough, in the last 8 weeks, 96.7 % of all covid cases in U S are from unvaccinated people...who are now saying...they wish they had gotten the shot. Risky behavior...the Delta variant is way more contagious and deadlier. Some places...like Massachusetts...where the vaccination rate is one of the highest with some communities at 95%...the cases are now at .38 per 100k people, or 1 person per 300 thousand.....if this new variant starts going crazy among those who are unvaccinated, and it is already happening in some southern states...you can bet this easing and opening of the border is going to stop quickly....it is now clear that the vaccines work...we live in an area in south Berkshire where the shot rate is over 95% and this is like candy land....no cases here...hospitals are empty...we are really looking forward to traveling again, life is normal here and has been for months.

  10. Welcome Doug, There debate on whether wheels are necessary or not could go for pages. Personally I have traveled in Quebec for 18 yrs without wheels, however I got a deal on a used pair thanks to Andyman the last year I was up there. I will never have another sled without wheels. Are they a necessity, no....but I would rather be looking at them, then looking for them. The ease getting around gas stations, restaurants, motels, or ferry terminals makes it worth the price to me. Sounds like a great trip you and yours Buds have planned, awesome scenery.

Sounds like not real freedom. The government has most people still right where they want them. In fear.

  14. Hi George, Thanks for the help! I will pass it on! I stayed at Mont St Pierre this year as well. It was ok but had to have room service. Froze. She is trying to keep a float but wow. Tough life. I have to say I am often on Facebook as well. I sell Real Estate for a living and I can’t believe how much business I get from that. Like everyone else it’s been a crazy adjustment but I have been so busy I feel like I am going crazy most days. So yes Bill is correct. Get into the group when you have a chance. I am however in 2 derbies ( salmon) this year and in the 3rd week but have only fished 2 days of it. Work has not slowed much. Attached is a fish I caught last week, her name…’Not big Enough’. Hopefully I catch her again when she’s put on some weight. hope you’re enjoying summer! LindaSledGirl

  16. Welcome to QR Doug! Where are you thinking of starting off from ? .Do you ride a touring sled or more sporty type ? I've been riding all around Quebec for a few years and have well over 50,000 miles racked up , Myself do not feel the need for wheels , others feel the other way i'm sure Hopefully the TQ 3 trail is open past Forestville for this coming season , last season it was not for a good section

  17. Decided to hit the trail. My first time ever riding the federal Quad trail. It surely is much different than riding the sled. But seat time is seat time. Still felt good to pinch the throttle a bit, albeit at a much slower pace. Certainly do not cover the ground like when riding the sled.

  18. I would love to ride Millinocket another year. So nice to arrive there in 2 1/2 hours instead of 6 hrs or more. If the border opened and I stayed in Maine, I probably wouldn't have any friends to ride with in Maine, they would all be in Quebec. So if the border opens, and the Quebec businesses are fully open with no foolish rules about seating etc. (like only 2 to a table and only half the seating available), I most likely will go to Quebec. I am torn. Maine trails weren't as consistently as smooth, but they were really nice in Millinocket and the lunch stops were top notch. The hotel owner really treated us QuebecRiders great, letting us gather each late afternoon or evening in his un used bar. He even let a couple guys leave their sleds next door in his storage garage so they wouldn't have to trailer them home.

  19. Today I went into the famous and very large Baxter State Park, home to Mt. Katahdin and the latter the end of the Appallacian hiking trail. Many decades ago, Gov. Baxter thought this land was too magnificent to be left in the hands of individuals and logging companies. After the legislature failed to agree to have the state buy it, the Guv bought it with his own money and left a large endowment to keep it going. It employs over 60 people to keep it going, and this isn't a place you can just drive home from at night so most workers liver here. This did help get the Guv out of hot water for ordering all state flags to fly at half mast on the passing of his beloved dog. Strangely, no dogs are allowed in the park The park consists of countless small ponds, most between 1/10 to 1 mile long as well as hundreds of miles of hiking trails to mountains, waterfall,s remote campsites and ponds. Today I drove the loop road which is really a north/south road, with a handful of short dead end roads going into a few ponds with old and famous sporting camps, now taken over by the park. I exited the north end gate whcih is by Mattagammon Wilderness Store, for those that came to Maine to ride this past winter. Total trip through the park was about 60 miles of very smooth dirt roads, but somewhat twisty with many blind corners and very narrow, and most of the way two large pick up trucks could not pass without one pulling way over and stopping while the other inched by. Speed limit is 20, and I seldom got over 15. There are many small ponds and stunningly beautiful streams next to the road. I did some short hikes into waterfalls and ponds. The camera doesn't catch the stunning beauty. This is also home to a very large moose population although I did not see any today. I also saw very few vehicles, maybe 1 or 2 every 15 minutes the first half of the trip, and a total of 3 vehicles the second half. So quiet for the July 4th weekend, and knowing Maine's Coast is traffic jams and thousands of tourist fighting for a parking spot in touristy areas and many unable to get into the crowded restaurants.

    Covid 19 Discussion

It is True and is Funny.. But to be fair: A. Still Spreading the Virus: That would\could be the case for most Vax's, Flu, Small Pox, Meningitis, Etc... ( all with-in reason ) B. Two Months, you only get three for the Flu Shot ( and they've been handing that out for 30 years?) , then there are mutated stains, and Vax is less potent. C. 10-15% reaction rate, most of the localized reactions are from the carrier Goo. Egg\Nut\Berry derivatives are used to suspend and preserve the Vax. I had a worse reaction to Shingles Shot. D.HIV Risk... If you're engaged in risky behavior, wear a helmet and stay to the right or what ever safe sex analogy you want to use. E. Bell's could be from "C.", and there are similar results from the Flu Shot too. Or any Vax. Or any shot that could aggravate\Activate your immune system ( RA, Crone's, IBS, etc...) F. Anaphylaxis, See "C" and "E", G: No manufacturer Liability.... I'd point to the Oxy Epidemic, brought on by the manufacturer's marketing\implementation dept. The small amount of $$ recovered for so many ruined lives. That was an Intentional Sales Push... No Liability. ( Small amount when considered how many people affected, I know it was Billions of Dollars) H. Masks... Grrr ( I hate them ). This is a tricky one, No masks stop Viruses, they reduce Viral Load in the Air, by reducing direct asperation and atomization, so there's less chance to pass it on via Air Borne Ingestion, I now only wear one when at a checkout counter, the poor person behind the counter is taking a bigger risk than I am, and it's more of a courtesy and concern for them. Think of how many people you breathe on VS how many breathe on them...... Later GutZ

    2022 NEW SLED ORDERS

I didn't want to tell anyone i switched teams ....... but its time. Ive been a Yamaha fans 30 years Sleds and dirt bikes starting in the mid seventies. That love has ended. Yamaha's decision to drop out of the snow mobile business and only build engines has changed my opinion. I snow checked a Renegade 850 with Smart Shox. For anyone who has not followed this story see vid below. This is big.
