    Story on Lac Repos

Also in the video they show a private seating area just for Snowmaster and he gets a “faster to the Fun pass” that lets him bypass any fuel lineups. They know how much he loves Lac Repos. no discount on gas though pay up sucka

  2. Trail from Clova to Parent had been freshly groomed on the way back Saturday morning, so it was in better shape than the night before. There is logging activity west of Parent so the trail cuts on and off the road and is annoying, but on the other hand the section east of Clova has been improved significantly. We were asked to wear our masks at the depaneur in Parent. I did not notice Norman’s in Casey, granted I did not really try to find it. Yes if I see your helmet again I will tap my head like last time, lol. M21 was fresh on our way back, I was thinking about your camp and how awesome that must be. The rules vary significantly from place to place. In general the farther away from town you get, the less restrictions you will encounter. You can go in to “warm up” in most places. Hand sanitizer and masks were on display at all locations, the placement of tables and chairs would indicate where you could sit or stand. My desire to ride the white gold significantly outweighs the restrictions and various hoops you have to jump through to get across the border. So I think it was well worth the trip. The new sled rips and I had a smile on my face for three days straight. Hope to be back soon.

  3. We have rented a place in West Yellowstone for the season. I was able to get out last week for a ride. Air travel is a necessary evil at this point but we survived a travel day nearly as long as it would take to drive out 22 hours vs 32 hours driving. If you haven't learned the truth about Covid I hope you do soon. IMG_1493 IMG_1490 IMG_1508 IMG_1507 IMG_1520 IMG_1527 IMG_1532 IMG_831BC5E29CB7-1 IMG_1530

    Story on Lac Repos

We were there on Friday, line up was a 45 minute wait, me and buddy had our gas and dumped it but the other 3 in the group did not. Take out only now, sucks having to buy food at a premium only to eat it cold outside in the cold. Buddy and I had thermos and sandwiches that we ate beside a nice hot camp fire but there were no tempos Don, I’m thinking that must’ve been another Pourvoirie in the video.

Watch the video.... Is in french but they say over the past weekend was 2 to 2.5 hours wait time just to gas up at Repos. (Note to self no going near there) they also show in video the outdoor dining setup and outdoor kitchen to deal with covid restrictions. At the end they are at world famous Moto Thibault (my dealer) talking about how almost each day people come in asking if they have any sleds for sale. They have none. Some Sleds ordered last march have still not arrived. https://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2022/01/10/jusqua-deux-heures-dattente-pour-faire-le-plein-en-motoneige?fbclid=IwAR2MmhexYbEDcLyQ4A-6u8MwfdUuFAIP0EgpKKHyjhTS62vO297fhcayCKY Up to two hours of waiting for refueling on a snowmobile: Snowmobilers were particularly numerous to hit the trails over the past weekend, to the point where their patience was strained when it came time to refuel in the relays in Haute-Mauricie and Lanaudière. "Believe it or not, snowmobilers waited between two and two and a half hours to fill up with gasoline," Paul Gélinas, a snowmobiler who saw it for the first time in 60 years of practice, told TVA Nouvelles. winter leisure. In fact, it only takes a few minutes to fill up with gasoline. So it's incredible the people that were there ”. The veteran snowmobiler attributes this phenomenon to the quality of the trails, but above all, to the arrival of new enthusiasts in times of a pandemic. go to the bathroom and order a meal to eat outside. These restrictions could have been easily imposed during the last winter, which had not been particularly cold. The climatic situation is very different so far this winter. “They say 'we give you a little ten minutes to go and warm up inside and go to the bathroom.' It's not enough with the cold because, when you get the cold, you get the flu and when you get the flu, you get the virus, ”lamented Martin Benoit, president of the Saint-Michel Snowmobile Club. Saints. Due to the sudden craze, but also due to the disruption of the supply chain, some dealers have no snowmobiles, new or second-hand, to sell. “Every day, people come here to see if we have snowmobiles, if we have something. There are even vehicles that have not yet been delivered, which were sold last March, ”said Alain Parent of the Motos Thibault dealership in Trois-Rivières.

  8. Left Marineau’s Saturday morning, headed to Clova via Kanawata. Laid fresh tracks down the river run on 360. Kanawata up to Casey was perfect as per usual. From Casey to Parent was loose snow., both sides of the driveway to Gouin looked freshly groomed as we drove by, stopped for gas in Parent then continued to Clova for the night. 300 miles. Sunday we headed back to Parent from Clova, it had been groomed overnight. Heavy logging since my last pass through area in 2020. We stopped at Fer a Cheval for a coffee break. Then continued down 13 to SADL for gas and a snack, in for the night at Mekoos. 200 miles. This morning we headed back to Mattawin via Manawan. Fresh groomed and temperature dropping. 200 miles for the day. Noteworthy encounters included a Lynx on Saturday and a snow shoe hare being chased by a Fisher on Sunday, the woods were quiet today. Here are some pics.

    RDL 2022 Season

Thanks Dave. We got in a little while ago and got in touch with Joe. Glad you guys had a good ride. Hi Mike. It looks good up here. Not a ton of snow but more than what was up at the Sag a couple of weeks ago. The groomers have been out. We are waiting for Joe to come over and give us an update. The ride up in the truck was good other than freezing out there. -15F on the top of Sheffield Mountain, VT. A few snow flurries on the way too. Crossing the border was fine. A couple of questions (all good) about what we were going to do for food since the restaurants are closed. We pack food now. Jack & Sandi

  12. Here the path of the ride we did round trip yesterday Saturday January8, 2022 We started from St-Damien area on #23 trail going north. The St-Gabriel de Brandon club trail section was mint but the Mandeville was rought. We passed their failed dozer that was still on the trail The #23 trail change path this season at #350 junction (the red circle on the map) To follow the #23 we now need to keep right at that junction, toward Koubec for few miles and then turn left at next junction on the very old trail path of the #23 that is the right one this season. This lead us toward Cabanon. Many sledders in place turn left to take last years path... that is not groomed There are closed signs but with the rest of the signage still there some sledders are confuse and take closed trail. Pay attention if you pass there... The sections groomed by Royaume club were very nice We rode toward Taureau dam And then kept on #360 trail along Mattawin river toward Marineau auberge Even with the deep cold there was many sledders on the trails. The first #360 section up to #345 junction(Repos) was already slightly wear but was riding good and few miles farther in the Mattawin club section It was very nice. I put together I short video of beautiful sections along the mattawin river up to Marineau Marineau covid's measure setup is nice: the toilets are accessibles and they have a section inside for us to warm up a bit. Marie-Josée always as kind and efficient sold us a warm meal that we ate outside on our BRP camping table During our meal we had a nice surprise guest that came just aside us. Trailblazer was at breaking in his new engine on his sled in my playground. We had the chance to talk with him a bit before retracing our steps on the same path for the return We stopped at our usual spot for a pic break It give an idea of the snow cover up there... The day traffic had wear the trails and many curves were swept/icy so we had to adjust the pace. The last #360 section before the dam was rought but between the dam and Cabanon was still pretty good other than icy curves. The only very bad bumpy section was the one already bad in the morning in Mandeville section. They were at recovering the failed dozer when we pass there. Finally a good ride of 210miles for us. The snow is pretty good on this ride path and if you have the chance to do it on the week days the conditions will be even better especially at the end of the day. I still have some other good footage and I hope to have the time to put together some other video in the next days think snow! Alain

  14. can’t wait to flip the bird to that shit hole as we pass by this Monday. Heading straight for 100 Lacs from the camp. And your right Ice, I should get a pass for all the over priced canned peas, gravy and water infused gas I have purchased over the years. A couple of weeks ago was the straw on the camels back for me with that cesspool and that was before this circle jerk. NEVER again will anyone see my ass on that property. You’ll catch me at the end of the driveway out by the road having a cigarette or other consumables but not on the property. And in the HIGHLY unlikely event I do need gas I’ll hitchhike to SMDS just outta principle. Sad thing is I’m starting to have the same sentiments with Kanawata but can’t easily cut them out of the picture. Mario’s price gouging on the gas right before my eyes, humble attitude and club sandwich with no tomato and half the chicken as prior years didn’t sit well at all with me.

Last winter reservations in Qc and Ont were closed to outsiders, not really sure if they are this year but it would definitely been a gamble going there if you were already low on fuel.

I'm blessed to be able to ride where I do and the people I know and ride with (when not soloing). Said it a bunch before and will forever ....some of the VERY BEST snowmobiling in North America is .....WITHOUTADOUBT......Alliance du Nord .

  24. Yep! was the 2nd time our path crossed by pure chances in the last years. It's part of the fun to meet other passionate sledders, it bring some warmth to our outside lunch! oh glad to know you will burn some gaz in my playground! alone or with partners? You don't like my jacket??? too bad for you, I do!!! As for the 50k+ miles you are just a bit under, and it's not a joke!!! I'm surprise you don't mentioned Kristine's jacket... She have the same since 1994 I think, near everybody that had met Kristine on the trail seen her with this jacket... quick calculation bring us over the 100 000 miles but... we cheat a bit: She's on the 4th exact same one!!! Her dad have gave her the first one and I bought the 3 others ones one used on ebay. She don't want to wear anything else. An absolute Zero suit is on my wish list but not a priority... I succeed to replace Kristine's helmet last season, no chance she will change her jacket!!! Thank you sir 👍!!! You are welcome Tom! things are shaping up, I just hope a good snow drop that would open up the whole trail network... weather forecast is not encouraging but it is still early. Thanks mikerider! For the pic the occasion was to good to not taking it! This Mattawin river is really inviting/tempting, you should do but...for fishing I think it would be more funny few with few degrees up on the thermometer!

OptiDeltaMediaCron!!! ( Twice the Hype as Omicron !!) ( let's hope it is the only bad thing about it, for the hospital workers\staff sake ) Noooo!!! We will live with it for ever, like every other coronial virus, sooner or later it will reach a point where the variant is similar to the Flu and be included in everyone's yearly booster. GutZ
