  1. Planning my next trip. Does the CHEZ MARINEAU AUBERGE DE LA RIVIÈRE have fuel ? It's on the 360 trail out by Trois Rives.
  2. Hi. I have done this sort of thing before. It's how I learned to ride in Quebec. Met alot of people who like to ride Quebec and had great times. Looks like you have all your bases covered. I saved your web page. For what it's worth Labrador is on my bucket list. I know a guy who has done it several times but doesn't go anymore. That's one trip I don't think I would do without somebody who has done it.
  3. Well got back from 3 day trip to St Zenon. All in all not to bad. The traffic was kinda heavy especially Sat, and some of the trails wouldn't hold up to it. I only did 525 miles but can't really complain. We had a warm day, a snowy day, and a cold day. The best snow was over in the St Donat area. Mt Tremblant park was great, but they hadn't groomed after the 8 to 10 inches they got the day we rode through there. Black Mt was a blast in all the new snow on Thursday. Visibility across Lake Archambault was around 200 ft. Glad they stake the lakes up there. Went to Repos, was thin in places but very rideable. The 360 trail to the Dam is junk. They are in there with excavators doing road work. Go over the new bridge on 345. The groomers are all out but they need snow badly, especially around St Michele. All the traffic and grooming has left some of the trails kinda thin. Forecast looks good though, a bunch of snow on the way this week. That was my first trip to this area of Quebec. However with all the trail number changes, it could be a bit confusing at times. They must not have all the signs up yet. I noticed the 23 Sud sign headed out of LaCabanon turned up missing sunday morning. Not sure if they took it down or it was stolen. Sorry no pictures, but the ones I saw posted on here from other riders are accurate.
  4. Great Helmet !! Especially if you wear glasses. To make a long story short the non-heated one works far better than the heated one. I have used both. If you have the heated sheild you will have to plug it in probably more than you would like. I did anyways. Kinda defeats the purpose of the helmet in my opinion. They make them different. The inner and outer layers don't seal very well. So moisture get's in between them and then you are screwed. While it's nice to be prepared, if the helmet is working right you won't need it. I have ridden in temps down to -40 with no real issues. I get the same frost on the yellow sheild like they talk about and sometimes a little on the bottom edge of the clear one, but it's a small price to pay for never having to plug in, and no fogged up glasses. Actually I believe the helmet works better the colder it is. When it gets warm like 20 and up, it can get a little warm in there, and then I have to crack the sheild open one click. It likes to fog a little when it's warm out. As for the ice fog issue, I have a scraper on my glove that takes care of that. But that has only happend twice in like the last 6 years, once on tug hill and the other last week in St Zenon. Spend your money on other gear that may be subpar. Handlebar gauntlets are a great investment for Quebec riding
  5. Where exactly is this ? What trail do you take to access this ? Going to be in St-Zenon thursday. How would I get there out of St Donat ?
  6. Thanks for the info :) Saw some pics on here today of St Donat, St Zenon area. That made up my mind, I will be headed to La Cabanon next Wednesday.
  7. I saw Kanawata and Casey on the map. Fuel in Casey ? Def interested in that. Maybe Barrage Gouin also. I usually do saddle bag trips when I go up there but taking the girl up this time. She likes to ride, but has never been up there. Plus I'm not sure how far her AC will go on a tank of fuel. 2011 SnoPro 600. And 300 mile days are kinda freakin her out. Thinks it might be too much. I don't want to kill her or she may not go back.
  8. Thanks I will look at those. Next week may still be sketchy, Mt Valin is my backup plan at the moment.
  9. Hi. Coming up next week. Looking at La Cabanon right now. Not a first time rider in Quebec but never rode this area. What are some good rides out of there ? daytrips this time up so looking for 200 250 mile loops. Staying for three days. Any ideas ?
