  1. I really don't plan on getting another jab but I think if you don't get tested if you get a cold odds are you are good to go. As for wearing a mask I do think it may help for not getting the old time flu. As for the Can arrive, I believe it is a way for Canada to know and record who is coming to Canada. Also it's a way for the state's to know where you are. I believe if you do nothing wrong, for awhile we're all good to ride. Sure hope so. Hope all had a good Labor Day Weekend.
  2. And you can ride free until the permits come out, really!
  3. Mittens are the only thing I will ever wear. Last year in early Feb. it was the coldest I have ever riden in and my hands really took a beaten. so much that after a couple thousand miles of riding two weeks later I came down with Carpo Tunnel Sindrum. At least the doctor said the riding and the cold hurt some nerves in my hand. So anyway, I have always used mittens when it was really cold but last year I told myself I did need them. Never again.
  4. We like to say it is what it is. We ride our snowmobiles. Just kick a little more in the kiddy than last year. I do cash jobs on weekends just so I can go on these adventures.
  5. I agree about getting it fixed now. I got a new one 4 or 5 years ago and don't even know it now. Better than the original one. My wife just her left one done in March and is walking better than years ago. I ride my snowmobile with no problems. Get it done. Lol
  6. We get better fuel mileage with our 850,s than the truck we towed our sleds to Quebec with. So my thinking is it's still better than touring with the truck. Plus it's more fun.
  7. Here in Clayton NY the gas was 4.23 2 weeks ago and today it is 4.65. I don't usually say anything but I want to thank everyone for voting for slow Joe. This government is crazy.
  8. How about a propane powered engine. Cleaner than gas and a 100 lb. Tube would last a long time Personally I think let's get all the cities in Canada and the United states under electric power first and then worry about our snowmobile engines. My opinion only.
  9. Have a good summer guys. I do know you aren't tired because all you rode was great trails. Also all we seen was smiles. Lol. Be good all.
  10. Wouldn't be surprised if the ArrivCan stays in place for a long time. It's easy and they would have a idea who is coming in and back ground check would be easy.
  11. It's so great that you are taking your son. You will have memories that will last forever. I personally have thousands as my youngest son and I have been riding in Quebec since 2006. We try to get there twice a year. Only once this year but it was for 10 days. Lots of miles. Hopefully your boy wil have the time to go as he gets busier in his life. Some times he may need some help but that's what dad is for. The bond you make doing this sport is like nothing else. I have a older son and it's just as much fun but his time is limited. Don't get me wrong but it is really interesting when we go as a group. Anyway enjoy your time together and stay safe.
  12. This may sound strange but I find that right hand corners are so much easier for me then left. My sled seems to stick better with the left ski than the right. I just slow down to a crawl to be safe and I don't care how far I get behind. I have adjusted the pressure on the ski and don't feel safe so there for it takes me longer to make a left hand turn.
  13. They must of been going really fast. I've been on that road, it's a road not a trail, and I don't know why they didn't see each others lights coming. I really feel sorry for them and their families. This is not good. I don't go there but have heard they have some really good trails to ride on. Just not enough area. God be good to them.
  14. That's 16 k miles. You did get your money worth out of that track.
  15. It was the first week of February. Little general store with out side tanks. The lady In the store is wonderful. Let me put my foot on her base board heater. One cold foot. As like other out of city places it's expensive tho. That is one great trail.
  16. You might even think about flushing the cooler back wardards before pulling the existing engine or do a pressure test on the cooler to make sure it is flowing the coolent through it. If it has compression and passed a pressure test then maybe it is plugged and the coolent just isn't passing through the cooler. There is something strange going on. Only my opinions
  17. We rode it last week and a lot of the trail is on the atv trail. That is according my GPS. Seen no logging operation the hole trip.
  18. I think the reason for so many miles is that there was only 2 of us We were riding brand new sleds and of course the trails were great. We also looked for trails that were flat and we checked the groomer report every day. Rode a lot of orange trails around Lake St. Jean and green trails when we could. Some will say no but we can get 15 to 18 miles to the gallon on our 850,s. Only trail I thought needed attention was 83 west of Parent to clova and east of parent to the bridge going into the village there. To be blunt I just hope I will be able to do a trip like this again. I just turned 71, but I don't know it riding on a snowmobile. We did talk to a lot of people about their oxygen helmets and they all said they loved them. One guy said that his once in while will freeze closed shut and the helmet is still worth it. So next year l am going for a new helmet.
  19. We took 309 to 63. We had fresh snow on it and a little pushy in the corners. But they were flat. No bumps. Lots of snow all the way. They are doing a lot of grooming every day. Be safe
  20. Well after all stress we went through it was worth it. Got home tonight at 6 PM. Long trip. 2288 miles in 10 and a half days. Went through cold weather, kinda cold and perfect riding weather. Started in Swisha to LaSalle to Senneterre then as far north on 93 as we could go. Then to St Felice. Followed a local trails north to 93 and followed 93 south to 23 and then to the Delta. Oh yes and others know I'm sure, the 93 at the sawmill has changed to go over a mountain with gravel roads. Sucked. Delta we went to Mattawa and from there to the Goiun. The next day was long . Gouin to Val Dor. Val Dor to Timiscaming and back to the truck by noon. Home by 6. Hands are sore, thumb is really sore and arms are a little longer. Rode mostly all groomed trails. Some restaurants didn't like our vax cards because they have not seen them before but when you explain the border excepted them they agreed. Biggest shocker was cost of gas. 8 to 10 dollars a gallon. More in the Bush. But it's worth it. People are still great. Poutine is great. All is well and time for bed. Be safe every one.
  21. Went through there last Tuesday. They do have the parking lot plowed. The motel is open and the restaurant is open. The bar is closed. Trail is great going north.
  22. We are in the west now. Rode from LaSalle to Senneterre today by way of Amos, Val Dor, Lovicourt to Senneterre and the trails are special. Just so you know first hand. Plus we met 4 or 5 Groomers.
