  1. And that electric powered groomer is on the way
  2. Just had a conversation with my kid about getting prepared for something happening to us like this. For years we have talked about communicators and always it never seemed that important. Buy like he just said if this did happen to us at least he would be screaming and maybe it would be a warning for me. Because there is the two of us I don't know what my reaction would be. Anyway glad you guys are going home and wish all of you the best. Like everyone here believes, bad timing and wrong place. I also want to say to groomer operator he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. No one at fault. All you guys keep us updated and get healed up for next year. Be safe all.
  3. Problem is also you have to or at least I can't run in some one else's track so everyone is breaking their own trail. I hate slush even if I know there is a lot of ice under you. Great ride you guys did. Also some of the best trails to ride. Great report also.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I wore it first time today. There is going to be a getting use to it period. I didn't wear my glasses today because I was just trying to get the feel of the helmet. First I couldn't believe how hot it gets in side. The extra vision you get is great. There is no noise to be heard. All and all I really like it a lot. I'll try your advice tomorrow. Last day up here for now. Had a good ride even though we got into a storm yesterday. Thanks
  5. Went to the Ski Doo dealer today in Amque to check out a new Oxygen helmet. They are on sale for 30 percent off. Anyway I bought one with the idea of being able to wear my glasses with it. I have read many posts about being able to wear glasses with one. I know I am probably going to do something wrong so what is the protocol for getting ready. Do you get your glasses on with your helmet inside and go out or ride with your shield up for awhile. I may need some advice. Thanks in advance.
  6. Was last year and sure still is the center trail on map A, the orange trail, Is just amazing. Also a great club house on 373 to stop at. The whole area is great.
  7. I ride with my kid and 2 or 3 of his buddies. We had one who wouldn't listen and said no problem he won't get cold. 20 below and he got frost bite on his fore head. My land they laughed him. So me being the adult I bought him a big wind shield for the next trip. Now all was said was your sled is ugly. He took it with a smile and said no more frost bite. He doesn't use it around home but when going to Quebec it's on his sled for sure. It's amazing the mean things they say to each other and just laugh.
  8. I hate keeping posts about this problem IMO but I have been reading a lot about this organization. It was created in 1978 by the government of Canada or maybe Quebec to watch over the hunting and fishing areas. They were created to be non profit. So what I believe is the best way to approach this matter is through getting political people involved. Simply let the politicians know that people are not happy. I'm sure they are the same as in the states that every vote counts. I know I from the states but my money counts. May be a large amount of signatures. Only an idea. May take a year to get results.
  9. I didn't know that. I'm not being difficult I just never heard Anything about it. It really does scare me about the future of trail riding in quebec. I do think before this is over the business people will get involved. I hope.
  10. I don't know canadian politics works but is there not an elected official that rides a snowmobile. It just seems so strange that they can drop this on snowmobile riders mid season with no notice.
  11. Should the other Zec's be contacted about their intentions or would that be opening up a can of worms. This could be a start of the end. I don't want go back to Tug Hill.
  12. Coming to RDL early Feb. I know you take trail 85 to New Brunswick going Moose Valley. After getting to the border of New Brunswick is there signs to get to Moose Valley? I want to go to that restaurant. Also is there a place to buy a New Brunswick trail pass. Thanks
  13. I believe that this is a organization who doesn't want snowmobiles on any land they thing they have or do have control of. I believe to them this is the beginning of them ending the snowmobiles on pubic land. You must understand they are saving the environment. Or they don't ride snowmobiles and don't want anyone else to. How long will it be before more of the parks join in.
  14. And yes if you used a 1 inch fork instead of a 3 inch fork you would eat less. Lol
  15. I'm not trying to blame the snowmobile. I'm blaming the part of the snowmobile that is doing the damage. The gun using bullets is bad but the gun using blanks just makes noise. The sled using 3 inch lugs let's you get in a position to do damage where a sled with a 1.5 lug won't let you get in to that position. I do agree it's operator stupidity but trail sled operators usually stay on the trail .
  16. I think everyone knows what kind of sled is doing the damage. These sleds are off the trail and they all have over 2 inch lugs. Maybe time to restrict the longer track lugs on the trail system. Maybe 1.5 inch max. MY OPINION ONLY
  17. What I read tonight, ZEC, is a group of people that was put in charge of this area to regulate the hunting and fishing, Mainly because it was regulated by clubs that were private people, some not even Canadians , who were over hunting and fishing game and poaching. They began as non profit and raising money's from hunting and fishermen. After finding out the money's weren't enough they were given the charge of camper, hikers and any one else using the park. Now I think they may be just trying to find another influx of money's to continue on. They were said to be the greatest organization for their work.
  18. I'm not going to say I know where the exact area of the park is because I don't know. What I would like to know is what trails it effects. My kid loves the 93 trail on the east side of the river and does it effect that one and all the orange trails east and north of 93. I have never rode the orange trails i would love to some day. I have just heard so many great stories about this areas.
  19. What expense does the parks have in the game they are playing. Do they pay for any grooming. I can see them saying there is damage done in the off trail areas but the trail riders shouldn't be penalized. Do they have them do as I say not as I do people like we have in the Adirondacks. Taking away our sport.
  20. Even if they put your sled out side it will be melted off. Better than a block of ice. My opinion
  21. Boy it isn't going to take much to see Mike pack his bags and head for RDL. LOL. I think he's one of them 20,000.
  22. Put it in ski first and pick it up and close the tailgate. Strap it down and head north.
  23. Back in the late 80's early 90's we had a group that went fishing in out post lakes north of Parent. I remember flying over Parent and seeing acres and acres of timber piled up in Parent. Only reason I know it was Parent was because the pilot told me. I don't know if that still happens now but it must of been really busy back then.
  24. As for riding on the Gaspie peninsula I always remember in 2005 I was living in north Carolina and my oldest son called and had me fly home and we went Quebec for a ride. I remember we were in Clova and there was a gentleman there that I asked where his best experience was. He told me the Gaspie peninsula. He then told if I ever got to the peninsula please say a prayer for him because that's the closest that I will ever get to heaven. Since then we have been there many times and I never forget what he told me. Of course he was right.
  25. I guess that's your responsibility. Maybe tow with a rope by hand. My concern would be some dealer are saying run it. Well if you run it and it explodes do you really think your insurance company isn't going to check and see if the update was done. Oh yes would that dealer who said run it admit he said it. First the update has been out for over a year so the owners, including my nephew, should have taken care of this along time ago. By the way our dealer a Polaris and ski doo dealer said don't run it. It's still Polaris,s fault.
