  1. I have a nephew who has a Polaris who needs the update done. Problem is the dealer can't get the parts. Plus they have to see the sled and then order. And then they keep the sled until they can fix it. They have to take pictures of the work done and send to Polaris. Now the problem happens when you start the sled. Something about static electricity in the fuel pump in the tank. They also say , as in the dealer, only a very few sleds need the update. How to hell can a company get away with this shit. So we decided he starts and loads his sled first and then we load and he doesn't start his until we unload. Sounds fair to me. Lol
  2. Myself I like to tow with about 6 feet of rope, just enough so the snow comes off the towing sled track hits the hood of the towed sled and the over the wind shield and into the guys lap. He must pay for not doing something that caused him to be towed. Best if it's one of your kids. Lol
  3. I have both and have used both at different times. The passport going by car and going by boat I only used the enhanced driver's license. One of the boys that go with us got a pass card and had no problems going by car. Now the enhanced license and pass card we did use before covid. Only our experience. They are NY State issued and crossing only at customs on Hill Island at the end of rt. 81.
  4. I do remember one time going through customs the agent gave us the quote that David could go snowmobiling but I had to go home. Reason was I had never signed my passport. I jumped out of the truck and ran around to his window and said give me a pen. Amazingly he laughed and said you must really like snowmobiling because you really had a scared look on your face. I signed it and away we went. I thing I made his day.
  5. I heard Snow master was there favorite customer. Really
  6. Should be lots of snow for trail packing. Hopefully not too late, I think around here it's going to get very interesting.
  7. It's a long day but the Gouin resoirvior is a adventure you won't ever forget, 300 plus miles from Val Dor. The Walleye dinner is special.
  8. My question also is, do you get a cab ride or ride on your sled. Lol.
  9. Well my hope was crushed. Map shows closed today. Good part is the shuttle service phone number is listed. I
  10. Am I missing something here. I just noticed on the map that they are not showing any trail closing east of Forestville. Did something happen? I hope.
  11. Not only that if you want to take a week end or mid week trip you just load up and go. Should probably go more. Lol. How was the summer? I just got off working on Grindstone. See you at the kove some morning.
  12. I purchased permits for two sleds last evening and what a easy purchase it was. Only thing was the video was in French and I guess I missed how to turn it to English. Anyway I couldn't believe how well everything was set up for easy purchasing. Great job.
  13. Another thing I remember was there was a beaver pond there and for some reason I think the beavers built their dam on or close to the trail. Anyway when the trail was groomed they groomed right on top of the dam. Also the beavers house had to 15 feet high. I trapped beavers and I never seen a house that huge before. It was , and I admit, the scariest ride I think we were ever on. We felt we were truly in a place we shouldn't be after we got to Matagami.
  14. In 2007 or 08 my son and i rode out of LA Sarre on a trail going north to Matagami. I remember stopping at a truck turn around at the end of a road to get gas and the gentleman seemed very surprised to see us. He told us that the groomer had went thru a week before. Sounded good to us but I believe that the groomer was the only vehicle that had been on the trail in weeks. I remember sticks in the trail about 12 inches high. I also remember the wolf tracks on the trail. It was a long ride, maybe 90 miles., to gas. My kid did find a moose shed on the trail we brought home. It was a long ride and I don't know to this day if we worried more about the wolf's or running out of gas. I don't remember the trail number but I do remember that the trail was closed the year or 2 later. I think others on here can also remember the trail number and how truly in the bush you were.
  15. David and I made that run last year with no problems with our 850's. One thing though it was 25 below when we started and that cold the whole trip. Sleds ran great and there wasn't a big urge to really squeeze the throttle. Again, the trail was smooth and no snow to push though. Do remember just south of the sawmill going over a high trail that was windblown and a lot of rocks was showing.
  16. Is this bridge for snowmobiles and ATV traffic only. Looks like it isn't big enough for logging trucks.
  17. The turbo is one quick animal. My kids friend just bought one of the floor last week. You're going to love it.
  18. Why would anyone want to drive in a truck 600 miles when you can start in mt Laura and ride your sled the rest of the way. Lol.
  19. Really nothing to do with a shotgun wedding or a fatherly talk. this man kicked this women in the face and put her in the hospital. Did you not see the pictures? My statement was about years ago how it would of been handled by the people of the town or the family of the victim. Instead he was let back into the public and did it again. My opinion is he would never have had a chance to commit the second offence 70 plus years ago.
  20. I think I have to be careful about what I say but, I'm old enough to remember that if this would have happened in the 50`s or before someone or the whole family would have taken care of this them selfs. I remember a story my dad told me about a man who got a young girl pregnant and ran out out on her. Her brothers chased him down and caught him in the states and on the way back they hung his ass up in a barn and cut his nuts out. No one got arrested and no one was upset. I agree with what they done.
  21. Anyone knows what club maintained the trial before it was closed?
  22. There is a way to get though that area. You will get help for sure from people on this sight.
  23. It was along time ago. How the story went was I had moved to north Carolina and left my snowmobile with him years before. Well by then he had bought a few new sleds and was going to Quebec with his friends a few times a year. Out of blue he calls on Monday and says dad jump on a plane on Thursday and we'll go to Quebec on Friday morning. Started in Mont Lauria and rode to Clova. Rode west and had lunch and back to clova. Headed back to the truck and that's when the fun started. He blew his sled up and I towed him to Rabaska where we met you. It gets better. I went home to north Carolina and he calls and says dad I seen on craigslist a 800 adrenaline for sale for 5000 and he told the guy my dad will buy it. Of course I did. Now his brother who was in North Carolina with me says you buying a sled without me. He calls a dealer he knew up here and he bought one too . That was in 2006 and we have been riding ever since. We ride over 2000 miles plus every year and looking forward to riding for many years more. Great memories.
