  1. hey thanks, just called and made the 1st 2 night reservations for 2 rooms seems as if the places are pretty booked, but that was friday and sat night. dont want to hijack this thread too much but guess its on topic smcleanlan glad that you were able to have a good trip and enjoy the trails, as seems to be kinda a low snow here but i think its starting to pick up, atleast here in Nh this last week were starting to get some snow
  2. sounds like a good litttle trip plan on doing the whole loop leaving from saint georges leaving this friday. as of right now i do not have any reservations, and this would be my first saddle bag trip without any. is it anything to worry about? or maybe better to make some real quick this week before i leave?
  3. Hey thanks for the input arubenstein, i did the gaspe last year (map below is what we did). I always try to do alot of planning, idk y i just feel better about it as normally one of us normally have a deadline on when we need to be back. as for me im only 22 and out of school and all that so im on more of a deadline than normal. I will say thou last here during the trip had to change one day, as we were up there when got 2 1-2ft snow storms in 3-4 days. As far as jonquiere goes, i normally back it there every year and buy my passes off bill down here in Nh as he lives like 15 mins from me. Hockey season is crazy there, have a buddy that was just there this last weekend i think and everything was booked because of hockey. I will try looking into smaller lodges more, I mean i have stayed at a few over the last couple years, and always try to stop at them to gas up and get food or w.e. i do try to help as much as i can, always very good to deal with and good food. I c that you want to do the interior trails, i would def recommend them as i did them last year, most of which was breaking trail in over a foot of snow, didnt thhink was going to make it. But those are some very good trails. and i also want to get a pass and do some riding In NB. so within the next couple years NB is on my list as well as maybe raddison or james bay the storm that went thru here yesterday left us with alot of hard rain and ice, then left 4 inches after that was done with but up in the gaspie it appears to be even worse didnt see much snow on the reports for up there hopefully the trails hold together.
  4. Very interested in how this trip goes. have been looking at making it for the last couple years but came down to maybe needed to do tour. Got the interest when was in matagami couple years ago and was talking to a trucker that was heading to raddision.

  6. well that is good news to hear, that is the first i have heard anything experiences from the tour. think it would be alot of fun and a little different then the normal trail riding.
  7. i was up there two years ago on my loop. started in shawinigan to mount laurier to valdor to matagami to chibougamau to roberval ( then got cut short due to a buddys new cat breaking the chaincase) so to la luque and back to shawinigan. was going to go to parent then saint donat and back. not sure what the big loop with be for this year so i may be in that area for the festival, that could be a good time. so i have rode in the baie james region, im wondering about north of matagami up towards raddison, i did see a map of some trail or something but didnt get a very good look at it so idk if its possible or not. other than that there is the train mike was talking about, and then the extreme tours guide from ontario that seems to be about 1/3 trail and rest off trail. logging roads, frozen rivers, and such. about 550 miles i think i saw
  8. Yes thank you. That is all i have been able to find on info as well. And most of the tour is off trail as u have stated. Have heard of being able to go from Matagami and something even about going from chibougamau but was all logging roads or something. I have yet to see a map at all of the trip or any trails. Did see one that had some local trails up in raddison
  9. O so that's another way to do it. Didnt realize thayn there was a train. How are the trails up in moosennee
  10. Thanks for the good info. Im not sure what u mean by the means of the train. I habe never rode in Ontario and all of Quebec and everyrhing south of the Canadian border. I look forward to seeing that map with the loop on it
  11. was wondering if it was possible to get to James bay on a snowmobile from quebec. Either from matagmi or somewhere else. Have seen the tour in the Ontario side that extreme tours offers with the remote cabin. Just wondering if there was another tour or trails to do so. I have seen trails on a map up that way in raddison looking for anyone that has info on this. Thanks
  12. yes just did this on my last trip, it is about a 20 min ride if i were to guess. its 32 a sled if i remember correctly and the ferry was $75 for two sles
  13. 1- drive to bernies 2- passion quebec in valin about 270mi 3-to bae com 285depending how we do and where stay 4- take ferry to matane and do a local loop 5- mont saint pierre 152 mi 6- chandler 239mi 7- new richmond with interior trails 207mi 8- amqui 200 mi 9- RDL 200 mi 10- bernies 205 mi 11- drive home here is what were doing leaving sunday

  15. hey thanks for that update is sounding better than what i was thinking. we are planning one of our trips tomorrow and this will be helpful here is what im thinking 1- drive to bernies 2- to jonquiere or now thinking passion quebec in valin about 270mi 3-to bae com 280to 320 depending how we do and where stay 4- take ferry to matane and do a local loop 5- mont saint pierre 152 mi 6- chandler 239mi 7- new richmond with interior trails 207mi 8- amqui 190 mi 9- RDL 180 mi 10- bernies 195 mi 11- drive home hope conditions will allow us to make this trip had something planned for the gaspie last year and changed to a 2000 mle loop in western quebec. our miles per day seem to be low for our normal just how the towns are i guess. and should be some nice places to stop and look along the way has i have never been there
