  1. Yep, three of us rode 1010 miles all around the peninsula last week. There are more gas stops than are showing on iMotoneige. For instance, there is a station in Mont-Louis that doesn't show in iMotoneige. Also a Shell station in Douglastown that isn't on iMotoneige. We did carry one LINQ can, but never used it.
  2. So we ended up canceling what we could in Quebec, and booking a trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan. We will never do that again. I don't know if it's because fewer people are traveling to Canada to ride or what, but it was an absolute zoo! We did get in 900 miles, half of which were on super whooped out trails, passing group after group with 20+ riders. It got to be a joke, we'd pass a group of 20 riders, and 3 of them would throw a fist to say they were the last one in the group. No mirrors required in Michigan. We all agreed that next year, no matter what, we will do Gaspe again. It's definitely worth the 14 hour drive each way (24 hours each way for the Tennessee guys).
  3. I live near Buffalo, NY, and my brother Dennis and nephew Max live in Knoxville, Tn. Every year we take a week long saddlebag trip somewhere. Well, this year we were excited to get back to Quebec for the first time in a couple years because of the covid crap. I decided we would do a loop in western Quebec as my brother & nephew had never been there. So I got our hotels booked, ordered the three 7 day trail passes online, got our ArriveCAN information filled out, and scheduled our covid tests at Walgreens. Made sure that they had their vaccination cards and passports with them before they started the 10 hour drive from Tennessee to my house. Things were coming together! They got here Friday night a week ago, and Saturday morning we went for the drive through PCR tests. Easy Peasy, got our negative results within an hour! The excitement was building! Starting the 7 hour drive to Temiscaming in the morning. Decided to have a beer(s) Saturday evening. My nephew suggested we check everything over to make sure we had it all and it was organized to make the border crossing as easy as possible. So we started looking through ArriveCAN, our vaccine cards, ,passports,..... Uh, Dennis, did you realize your passport expired in November?
  4. Yes, we decided we will spend two nights at Forestel, we really like it and room prices are great right now! What we really miss is the lodge in Moffet (Domaine Driftwood??) Used to do one day Temiscaming to Moffet, then the next day Moffet to Forestel. This time we will do one day Temiscaming to Forestel. Miss the big dogs and great food at Domaine Driftwood.
  5. I have first and last night reservations at the TemRose in Temiscaming in a couple weeks. Anyone sadllebagged out of there before?
  6. Heading up in a week for the first time in a couple years, I hear that I will have to provide a quarantine plan in ArriveCan What are folks listing for a quarantine plan on a saddlebag trip?
  7. Yep, Maine as well for our group. Sounds like Maine will be busy this winter!
  8. The FCMQ interactive trail map doesn't show the trail going to Real Masse. Anybody know why?
  9. We live in NY, and can clearly see all the mistakes Cuomo has made and the thousands of people his policies have killed. But when we talk to relatives outside NY, they consider us so lucky to live in NY with our tremendous leader. They only see what the national media feeds them.
  10. Looks like 240 km or 150 miles. Chib to La Dore.
  11. Wife and I spend lots of time in that area camping in the summer. The ramp in the bottom photo is where the hang gliders take off. They land in the field on the left in the top picture. really fun to watch.
  12. Be Very Afraid NYS Assembly Bill A416 UPON DETERMINING BY CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT THE HEALTH OF OTHERS IS OR MAY BE ENDANGERED BY A CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER, OR SUSPECTED CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER OF A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE THAT, IN THE OPINION OF THE GOVERNOR, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER, MAY POSE AN IMMINENT AND SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH RESULTING IN SEVERE MORBIDITY OR HIGH MORTALITY, THE GOVERNOR OR HIS OR HER DELE- GEE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE COMMISSIONER OR THE HEADS OF LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS, MAY ORDER THE REMOVAL AND/OR DETENTION OF SUCH A PERSON OR OF A GROUP OF SUCH PERSONS BY ISSUING A SINGLE ORDER, IDEN- TIFYING SUCH PERSONS EITHER BY NAME OR BY A REASONABLY SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION OF THE INDIVIDUALS OR GROUP BEING DETAINED.
  13. The first time my wife and I stayed there, we saw the trail went right up the river. Being a bit nervous about this, we stopped in the Skidoo dealer to ask directions. They affirmed that the trail was on the river. I decided we would find a "Safer" route to the hotel. All I can remember is riding through town on the main streets, waving to the cars stopped beside us at the traffic lights. An embarrassing moment, but we made it to the hotel and left via the river in the morning. Lots of fellow snowmobilers got a big laugh over that story in the bar that night!
  14. I think a couple miles off 587 near St. Irene. Those steps up the observation tower are nasty!
  15. 2nd the Mad Sled aluminum lift. I've had it for a couple years, works great. And reasonably light to pick up & move around Scott
  16. Easy one. Sidenote - my buddy with the gray hat fractured his foot going UP the stairs into this fine establishment later that night. He rode three more days after that to finish the trip - a real trooper. Don't think his wife ever heard how it really happened.😂
