  1. Heavy snowfall in Quebec City right now. Expected to turn into rain later tonight but more snow expected for the weekend.
  2. Rode the 93 through Mont Valin yesterday. There is a lot of snow! We rode a few local trails that we found on the map we got at our hotel that wasn't on the FCMQ interactive map. You won't be disappointed! It was my first trip up to the Saguenay area and I absolutely loved it.
  3. I rode #3 to Mont Sainte-Anne and took the bypass to 369 Saturday and the conditions were okay. I took the 369 back to Quebec City and from the Stoneham intersection down to #3 the trail was in very bad condition . We have had both heavy rain and some snow since so I don't have a more recent update unfortunately.
  4. That's a very good suggestion. Thanks :) I know absolutely nothing about the trail system up in the Saguenay area but we probably don't want to ride trails that are too twisty and technical considering the novice rider in our group. It will be his second time sledding. I'm guessing flat and fast (even though we might not be going very fast) is what we are looking for. If the loop has a nice place for lunch that's a big bonus. Thank you so much for helping out!
  5. Hi all, Heading up to Saguenay for the first time this weekend and was looking for a suggestion for a good 200-250km loop. We are staying at the Centre de Congress. We are doing the Valin Summits loop Sunday but we haven't decided where to go Saturday. I only ride in the Quebec City area so I'm not familiar with the trails in Saguenay. Any suggestions are more than welcome! We have one novice rider in the group so nothing too crazy for the first day. Thanks :)
  6. I was honestly surprised my 800r started this morning. My pull start is broken and usually I use it to turn the motor around before going with the e-start when it's this cold.
  7. Makes me so sad to read this. My thoughts go out to friends and family of the driver leaving us way too early.
  8. Haha I can barely send an empty box back home to Sweden for that kind of money. Great deal!
  9. Quebec City experienced heavy rain from around 4 PM to after midnight. The snow layer is extremely thin now. Good thing though, any snow that survived will be frozen solid shortly providing a good base. Really need a big snow dump to get this season going in the Quebec City area. Buying a trailer is getting more and more tempting. So far I've done about 30 meters of snowmobiling this season (from the shed to the garage and back).
  10. I'm hoping for a big dump of snow soon. 304 isn't open yet so I can't get anywhere for now.
  11. Cold weather in the forecast but will it help when there's already a decent layer of snow insulating the ground?
  12. Wow. I'm happy my sled is still in my garage waiting for some parts. The ground was not frozen enough when the storm and the pictures clearly show that. I really hope no one got hurt and all sleds were recoverable. Any details to exactly where this was? 304 or 3?
  13. Still heavy snowfall in Quebec City. I have about 30-40cm of fresh powder in my backyard.
  14. Great news! The 304 passes in front of my house and getting northbound access to other trails will be awesome.
  15. Excellent report and amazing pictures! Next season I really need to do some longer trips. So far this season I've only done day trips looping back to Quebec City.
  16. The driver of that sled shouldn't buy any lottery tickets for a while. He has clearly used up most of his luck surviving that impact. I hope for a quick and easy recovery for the guy.
  17. I rode TC #3 yesterday from Quebec City to Saint-Marc-De-Carriéres and the conditions couldn't have been better. Took the 302 back and it was in great condition also. Enjoy your trip!
  18. I realize how lucky I am every time I drive past any of the areas where people unload their trailers and I don't have to. Today I did a 230km loop going west of Quebec City.
  19. The address is next to trail 304
  20. Hahaha if I had a dollar for every time someone asks me if I have sisters back home I could by myself a nicer sled. I only have brothers though.
  21. Better extend and isolate my shed as well then hehe.
  22. it's a one car garage so I could probably fit about three sleds or so. I'm about 25 minutes from the airport by car.
  23. Thanks Iceman! I absolutely love the diversity in the trail system. If I go west it's a lot of fast and wide trails and if I go east I can ride the smaller trails in the Sainte-Anne mountains.
