  1. Water went down a few inches overnight at my place but still high enough I have no land on most sides of my house. The good news is I am getting fantastic gas mileage with my riding lawn mower.
  2. How is the antique boat museum fairing? Seems to me from memory that whole complex is low especially their work shop.
  3. Unbelievable the amount of water. Lots of friends and people I know are in trouble in Ile Bizarre and Pierrefonds, and it doesn't only come from the Ottawa. I got pics sent to me of a marina and boat winter storage complex in Iroquois Ont on the St Lawrence where my sail boat is still in storage. Water is way up there maybe 6-7 feet higher than it should be. First pic is of the high water today and the travel lift sitting on its tracks where it lowers boats down in a moat 4-5 feet down. The docks are usually far below the flooded parking area. Second pic is my boat being manovered by the lift last may in the parking.
  4. The weather patterns as we knew them are changing. What to do?, buy a new skidoo, or a seadoo???
  5. Saw Gatineau on the news and further down river, Regaud, Ile Bizarre, Laval etc are higher than they were during the flooding the other week. Here in Montcalm it has been coming up all week but peaked in the night 2 feet below the high it peaked at the other week but still around two sides of my house. Hoping the rain is not as bad as predicted and they don't start dumping massive amounts of water out of the reservoirs. As mentioned my house can take the water due to the basement design but the other week we emptied my garage and moved it to higher ground when the water was getting closed. Just put it all back in the other day. I don't want to have to do that again. It seems like I am the Noah of the mechanical world, two and three of everything, big job. Good to hear Gatineau water has been stable for two days. Do you live in Gatineau and are you affected by the flood Mid Range?
  6. Well it certainly would speed up unloading parcels.
  7. What the truck is that?😄
  8. Thanks Midrange. I'm hoping for all the folks that damage is minimal.
  9. Wishing the best for folks there. We already went through our spring flood here and the water was dropping nicely but has come up 6 inches again overnight. We are down river from those northern reservoirs via the Rouge river and if it gets raging down it water backs up fast into my lake, but I understand they can and do divert the flow to either the Gatineau or the Rouge. Ether way it is all going down the Ottawa and those poor folks in Riguad could get hit again.
  10. Smokey the bear has a new post retirement job? Grin!
  11. Is the name change to protect the inocent?
  12. And if it really gets bad you might resort to sled jacking or dealership invasion to support your habit. Remember most of us started out as recreational users.😁
  13. I read into complete redesigned power train as the elimination of any clutching or gearing other than maybe a reduction gear to match motor rpm to track rpm. I believe high performance electric cars like the Tesla have no need for a gear box only a reduction gear. As electric motors I believe have full torque from zero rpm up to pretty much their maximum rpm.
  14. Green trail on the iMotoneige map may have a new meaning, power outlets on trees every 75km.
  15. Expensive yes, but I'm thinking there can't be many places with decent snow so that gallon should last a long time snowmobing in the U.K.
  16. Thanks for the good wishes, happy summer to all. Flooding around my place is a routine spring event and this year was a little worse than normal but certainly not the worst we have seen. When we decided to sell up in Montreal and move to our cottage we raised the house 9 feet and built a flood proof basement. Water often surrounds the house in spring for a few days and as long as the pumps are working the basement is bone dry. The water has gone down a bit and was about a foot higher than today.
  17. They are not legal on Quebec roads and since they apply and try to enforce a lot of the Quebec Highway Code on the trails, I would think they are a big no no on the trails too. Perhaps the best option is have a designated decoy with the fastest sled in the group lead.😁
  18. That'll freeze right up!

    Be Ready

188 days?, don't rush me! I got to store the sleds, get the bike out and prep it, get the boats out and clean them up, put the docks in the water, then haul them out, haul and store the boats, put the bike away, bring the sleds out and give them a preseason go over and somewhere in there find time to cut the grass and take the empty beer bottles back to the store!😁
  21. Well now that really sucks, Sled Week will never be the same.
  22. Yeah I think they are going after texting while riding too, cell phone use with blue tooth only.
  23. Markusvt, I wanted to click like on your post above but that did not seem appropriate. Sad story and I hope that this and other stories like it will stay in our minds and remind us to exercise a little more caution and be vigilant always. Thank's for posting this.
  24. Holly crap hope none of those vehicles belong to guys on here.
