  1. If it is anything like Canada, US border officials may ask if you have a cough, fever , been in contact with any individuals known to have the virus and probably ask you to self isolate for 14 days to protect the population in your country.
  2. My sentiments exactly, no sense unwittingly transporting the virus to others or risk picking it up going from place to place. Governments are urging to stay home as much as possible and avoid unnecessary travel. Be safe everyone.
  3. How about a little sound effects to go with the visual, Braap!
  4. Well as for the toilet paper spring is coming and so are the leaves, problem solved.😁
  5. It does exclude US citizens at least for now.
  6. Canadian citizens are asked to self isolate for 14 days if they have been outside the country including car travel. Sooo, where does that leave you US guys coming into this country?, sledding for 2 weeks non stop? Bring a tent and some munchies.
  7. I was waiting for someone to say that.
  8. Actually I am watching the live news conference as I write this. Canadian borders are now closed to non Canadian residents, however US citizens are exempt from this closure as the Can government feels the two countries are too closely intertwined.
  9. I think Ice is right, it may be more of a question should I go rather than can I get through the border. Here is a QC gov web site that is kept up to date on the virus as things progress.https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/answers-questions-coronavirus-covid19/
  10. And you have nailed it in a nut shell and exactly why the governments are restricting things. On the flip side of the coin you could pick it up here. A couple of weeks ago it was a kinda distant worry, look how fast it has changed, both in the US and Canada. Travellers are the way this virus has migrated. By the way, the infrastructure that you guys rely on may well be hit and miss. In Quebec besides all the bars schools ski hills and the list goes on, Restaurants are now mandated to not accept more than 50% of their capacity. As things get quiet, I imagine hotels, restaurants etc that find their revenue drop and guests are fewer and far between, they will not stay open at a loss. New announcements are coming from both the Federal and Quebec governments at 1:00pm today.
  11. They make more sense than the sign I saw twice this winter on different trails, “ vos phares “. Means “your lights” huh, last time I looked they are always on.🤔
  12. Things are changing fast daily all in an effort to keep a lid on the amount of cases Quebec has right now about 40. No one can predict if or when the border might close, but consider this, there is quite a bit of talk about the restrictions being placed on the citizens of Quebec and urging people to limit travel etc etc and one question that is floating around out there in the wake of the latest government announcements is why are they still letting tourists in. It is possible you guys might not get up here if you wait too long.
  13. I thought the joke was “what will the conditions be in 2 weeks”, but a whole year, that’s pushing the technology of the crystal ball.😁😁😁
  14. Bet they drove you crazy looking for the up coming tunnel.😁😁😁
  15. Due to the mild weather and rain Diable et rouge has closed trails till weather conditions change. I imagine other clubs in the area will follow suit. Still a good snow base from what I can see but trails are mush and lake crossings are full of water and slush.
  16. Well if your carting that around someone is bound to think it is your back up spare sled. 😁
  17. Ok I take it back, suddenly fast again this morning. 👍
  18. Yup thought it was me but all other sites load fast on my I phone.
  19. This was just posted by the club. I suspect it is between the paintball park and Vendee as per the pin I put on the map. In this area water runs under a big section of the trail so it is hollow underneath for 40-50 feet by the width of the trail.
  20. Yeah funny thing one guy had the radar and one had a mic in hand, as we came up off the lake at that end there is a road and a bit of a parking for some commercial building that the trail goes through, I was half expecting to see a car there, but there wasn’t. I think the SQ is just making a presence on the trails. We came across 3-4 SQ sleds lights flashing blocking the trail just outside of Pine Hill the other week. Safety check they said. Ok you got mirrors, got your trail pass, hit your brake let me see your brake light, ok good you can go. Same routine for the rest of our group. One of my buddies broke his left mirror getting it out of his truck, cop who checked him was standing on the right side of the sled and never noticed!😁
  21. And oh yeah, Grumpy we keep just missing each other we went through on the Saturday just A day or so after you posted on FB you were there.
  22. My understanding is yes if you are on a marked and picketed trail that is part of the trail system. In our case they were at the far end of the lake from La Minerve. 4 of us doing about 100km and a guy passes us in the power doing maybe 110-120km. I naturally sped up 😁, but About 2/3 of the way across the other sled peeled off and slowed down headed along the shore. I saw two sleds headlights coming toward us but Realized something was a little screwy, they didn’t bounce or move, hmm two stopped sleds, I slowed a bit and then a bit more. When I saw the radar gun I was doing about 80km and slowed to just under 70km as we got close. Guess we weren’t worth stopping by the time the radar picked us up and we just drove by.
  23. That’s lac Chapleau, was on it two weeks ago, it was staked, smooth like it was groomed with a small drag and two cops waiting at the far end with radar, surprise!
  24. Cnc

    WOW

Trails will be trash in no time with any amount of traffic. I ran my trail on the lake from my house to the main trail several times yesterday to expose the slush so it will freeze when it gets cold. Possibly 20-30 cm of snow coming Wednesday into Thursday.
  25. Grumpy Santa just told me the crossing is good and open your looking on a map for Chute de Blondeau to Cushing.
