  1. It was a little blustery that day, I like your rear rack system and mtg plate is that brp or and another supplier?
  2. Cold Smoke Here's a shot heading up the the Bras St Louis road north of the valinette in Mt valine on Saturday RR
  3. Groomer, its that season again, glad to see the ground white still after the mild temps, Hope all is well RoadRunner
  4. GKW, The riding from Moosevalley New Brunswick, just north east of edmundston, east into the gaspe is still good. Plenty of snow cover and probably a nine hour drive RR
  5. Groomer, it was good to see you yesterday morning, We had a nice albeit "chilly" ride back to Maine yesterday, the -45 down temps were interesting to ride in and get the sleds going in the am. I noticed that the logging road in the picture that you posted above is not being plowed this year or was it just since the last storm? Again , great to see you , good trails all thru the gaspe currently but Groomers are the best. Keep up the good work RR
  6. Dblack, you should be getting a sponsorship in the mail shortly, told rob the other day, good luck on you fund raising. rr
  7. DooBraap, you can record a custom check in message and the help message prior to your departure from your computer. the check in message is usually something like, we are taking a break, and or in for the night----ect the help message is usually like ------we need you to send assistance, we are all ok but unable to move for our location due to mechanical breakdown ect This is the next option down from signaling emergency service It would be nice for some field features, perhaps that will come. Best regards RR
  8. This is the unit strapped onto the handle bar, runs on (2) lithium batteries for a full week of tracking service.
  9. I picked up a spot locator beacon a few weeks back and this is the real deal. A really cool device that works off satellight- different than other locator systems that require a cell phone signal. It has a help button to contact a prerecorded assistance message to friends, an optional tracking signal that anyone with a computer and your link address can watch your trip progress on a 10 minute basis. With the best safety device of a 911 button that signal their emergency headquarters to contact the closest emergency assistance to your group. The unit is $150 and the service with the optional tracking beacons service is $150 a year US. It works great and is a real treat for people interested in the trip you are on but unable to go. A nice tool Here is the link http://international.findmespot.com/ Best regards RR
  10. Nice Trail report SmMclean! sounds like the gaspe is open for business!!
  11. Thank you for the update groomer, happy holidays RR
  12. Coldsmoke, sounds great hope you make it up. You may want to check the conditions in Cote Nord, I know earlier postings talked of a lot of rain damage to the trail network this fall. Particularly if you end up going to godbout in lieu of Baie Comeau and try heading west towards Escoumin, sounded like several bridges were out between godbout and baie comeau Happy Holidays RR We will be waiting for those pics
  13. Cold smoke , I have real good luck with the Sony Steady Shot, It is compact, nice battery that works well in super cold temps, and takes good pics. Just make sure what ever you get that it will operate in the cold temps, I know your riding locations well Are you still heading north on friday, pm me with on the details when you have a chance Best regards RR
  14. Switchback, thank you for the update, we will try to get together this year for a refreshment some evening. Happy HOlidays RR
  15. Groomer, those last years pics will have to do until mother nature takes care of us. Glad to hear about the snow in the interior. We had a chance to do some woods road riding in western maine this last weekend, seemed good to get out on the sled and put a few miles on. Stay tuned RR
  16. Bobler. Nice looking sled! when did you get yours?, I am still waiting for the 1200 renegade. Hope to see it soon. Good luck with the sled, they should go great. Best regards RR

  18. Bill I enjoyed seeing you at the MSA show last weekend along with Dblack and ER of team Maine. Snow will be in the area soon. Best regards RR
  19. His welcoming beer at the door upon your arrival was always a great touch, he will be missed RR
  20. ER Great set of photos, the ones taken from the chopper really give a good overview of the terrain and conditions, nice actions shots, and the caribou herds are awesome. Cains Quest and team maine racing- nice program and great racing. RR
  21. Maine Corrado/dblack, early rider, sure wish I could join you guys on the 29th for the celebration, I am going to be away. Have a great gathering. All the bEst RR
  22. Thanks for the update groomer, we were heading that direction next week, Those guys have done a great job up there this year, they have been dragging at least since the first week of december this season. Hats off to their efforts.
  23. gkw, nice post on the new etec and 4 stroke, I too have the yamaha attak and also an 08 renegade 600. Very satisfied with both, but I have often thought that if I could have the renegade in a 4 stroke -- that would be the sled. I was very interested to see the option listed on the doo sight a few weeks ago. That should be a great package!!. again ..nice post RR
  24. Thank you Switch, we still need to hook up sometime of a RR
