  1. La Manior was great ! Trail 55 to St Pamphile was awesome !
  2. Back in Lac-Etchemin ! Great ride today. 200+ for a 4 day total of 833. Blessed to have a wife capable and willing to do the run. She did awesome. Even helped me jackass a very heavy sled when I turned onto a non trail ! My reverse kicked out Sunday so no backing the beast up. We hit a mile or 3 on the Club Belle cut thru back to 35 that was plowed HARD. Besides that 200 miles with no bumps even. A real blast !
  3. Great day today. Back to RDL from Amqui. Went the lake route up and over to 5 which was great for a while. Took the long way when we hit moguls on 5 near Rimoski before where the 35 splits off...so we went the longer route and it paid off. 240 miles today and mostly stellar trails. Big fun. I need a beer now. 😆
  4. Got a late start but good news was it put us on the mountain in Amqui right at sunset. It was stunning.
  5. Windmills are cool. The area they are in is awesome. Heres a few more windmill pics. Back to RDL today. Going to check weather and groomer maps at 6.....
  6. Great trails to Amqui. Went up thru the windmills. Impressive. Late start...long story...but made great time on stellar trails 544 etc. over to 35 were incredible. Super fun. At Selectotel in Amqui. Great spot. Back towards RDL to morrow !
  7. Never too safe in this hobby Mike ! Especially with bad weather. Lots of ungroomed snow in the trails but very few bumps. Still able to clip along at 50+ in many area since it was flat underneath. Very little traffic first half to Tourville. Moderate traffic from there in. Looks like 90%+ of our route to Amqui was groomed last nite. Taking the 35 route out the the 5 route back tommorow assuming its in good shape. Weather has been cold but nice. No complaints ! Is there access to that little tiny river island clubhouse this year ? Thinking of looking for it on our way back tomorrow.
  8. In the bar if you are around Mike ! Eating at 8 here. I owe you one. 🤪
  9. We went for it. Went great. 198 miles. Most were groomed before the snow but still decent. Really no bumps til we go near RDL. Great ride !
  10. THanks for the sound advice as always. We will be there in RDL even if we have to drive the truck/trailer ! Considering finding a spot in Tourville to drive to and park and lessen the risk/ride length some so we can still ride. More trail options from there in toward RDL. Im not surprised today was a shit show on the trails. It was wild. Need to look in the morning.....thanks again.
  11. Im guessing if the groomer map shows a route groomed to RDL we can assume those trails are passable ? Got at least a foot here BTW.
  12. Hotel is good. id ride out of here again. Nice area too. I will fill you in on my choice of cut thru roads when faced with a closed road from a logging truck going off road thru power lines in St Prosper. The adventure began already and the sleds are still strapped in the trailer. 🤠👍
  13. Well.....201 north of the Forks was nuts.....north of Jackman....almost just spent the nite in Jackman...nearly impassable. Close to a foot on the road. Like breaking trail with a trailer in tow. Yikes. In Lac Etchemin. Club member here says they are grooming tonite....snow ends by 9. If the wind is low and grooming shows it happened we may try it to RDL. Can always drive to or sled to Tourville and stay overnite there tomorrow and drink. Tommorow AM we will call an audible and see whats what. High of 7 tommorow. 😆 Wasnt I just bragging how the weather looked great for our trip ?
  14. Looking like Lac-Etchemin to RDL tomorrow is ok. Tourvile is halfway and looks to get 12”+ ending early tonite....and the winds are mainly strong along the St Lawerence. Only 10 mph+/- further away from it. Hoping the groomer are all out hard tonite or its going to be slow going. We will pick eastward routed groomed trails now from FCMQ in the morning and hope its accurate. One thing for sure....no shortage of snow ! It will be very cold tomorrow but we are prepared. State of Maine is mostly closed down today with this ice/snow mix. Took today out and will start driving up noonish in daylight which sure helps !
  15. Mike So what are you getting there ? At home in Maine here we had a few inches.....crusty ice on top and light rain....temps dropping today and changing slowly to a little more snow at dusk. The crown is reporting very fluffy 3” overnite. We drive up to Lac-Etchemin today to start our saddlebag tomorrow. Should be an interesting drive up ! We will see you tomorrow night Mike ! Mark
  16. .....and what about George ? Haha
  17. Fuse, Looks like a great place ! Mark
  18. Some great advice as I expected here ! Thank you. Keep it coming. Yes wife has her own sled and bags. She rides a 19 TCat 137 with a trunk pack and we will put the saddlebags on for the week. Im expecting a backpack to bungee on top might appear for her too. 😉 As planned our longest day is about 190 mi from Lac-Etchemin to RDL...day 1...stopping in Tourville for lunch and gas...then on to RDL. On day 3 returning to Mayor Mikes from Amqui to RDL we have a few trail choice options that will both reduce some miles if needed. On day 4 which is similar distance going back From RDL to Lac-Etchemin but on different trails...We have an option of going RDL to Montmagy and stay at l'Oiselière if we need to.....then Wed AM blast back the last bit thru the Sud ski area and load up before driving back. Going to call an audible on that one since there is other hotels in that area if choice 1 is booked. So I tried to plan some good miles days with options. Weather looks perfect. Says about 6” new Thursday nite before we get there....then clear sailing after that snow. 🙂
  19. Owners....do the snow clubs own and run these relais or do they lease them out or.... ?
  20. More here on QR than anywhere I know...experience. Riding 4 or 5 days starting Saturday with my wife. Looking to be around 750 mile trip. Have done 2 nites before a few times. Have a grasp on the basics but smart enough to know I cant think of everything. Any tips on what or how you guys pack ? Have tow stuff, x belts, x gas, x relays, tools, sled security lock, flashlights, cell battery pack, x shield cord, x bungee cords and bungee nets, ratchet strap, lighters, battery compact jump pack, waterproof matches, saw, emergency blankets, siphon, GPS with maps, paper maps, etc also have x cash, x socks, x gloves, gauntlets, x head sock , x hat, street clothes, shoes, passports, x glasses, copies of hotel reservations, called the credit cards for travel....and plenty of Aleve. 🙂 Some other pack tip do’s and dont’s , “must have”, or “nice to have” items you guys travel with.... without me going overkill ?
  21. Wheres Groomers clubhouse ? Would love to say hi .
