The good ole ball buster… Le Balbuzzard Sauvage. Only the second place I know of that makes you take your boots off to come inside. Funny now that I think of it, the other place is also a log cabin.
How is the snow depth between Faillon and Clova? Think it can survive another warm spell?
Lac Truite ?

Ever driven to Camp Taureau?
ice road truckers
lots of snow up there
if needed drive to St Michael or St Zenon
We parked in St Michele last week. Jumped on the reservoir and off and running north, cutting quite a few miles off of 63 & 33. Worked out well.

Nice report Alain. We probably crossed paths that day as we did almost the same route. We encountered a big moose between the 23/350 intersection and Laglaciere! Couldn’t tell if it was male/ female as it was going away from us. We waited a few minutes, and it went off the trail, so we proceeded with caution as we couldn’t see any footprints. Biggest one I’ve ever seen!! We made our way to Coin Lavigne and then down 63 through Domaine Bazinet, over to Mandeville and back up 343/350/23 to Real Masse for dinner, and arrived back to Lecabanon around 6:30 with 145 miles on for the day. Met up with the groomer as we got back on 23, for smooth sailing back in. Due to the FREE WEEKEND I left for home on Friday a.m.

What’s the story with Real Masse ? I was told last week from another outfitter that they weren’t going to open at all this season .
I believe they were only open on weekends last year .

That's why we book on the fly. Change direction at will!
I agree, however that’s always a gamble. It also depends on how many in the group.

We just ran from Clova to Pensive and on to Club Gatineau on Friday. Pretty straight run, not groomed but beats the shit out of 83. The new orange trail from Gatineau to Notowissi is nice !

And BTW…..I saw those “chicken sandwich “ thingies go by to other tables on a plate with pale looking fries
they looked like those little frozen patties you throw in the microwave for 60 seconds because your wife isn’t getting home till late.
We unfortunately had lunch there twice last week. The best part of lunch was the 2 cute waitress.

Fabulous day. Funny shit # 1
an axle just laying in the road about 3 miles east of the Gilardo dam laying in the road all by itself
Not something you want to come across at night 😳
And who leaves that in the middle of the road ?

No grooming, pretty much single track from Le Pensive , logging and plowed the last 12 miles into Clova. The cut across from Lepine to Cheval was not broke.
I'll second that. We came down Lepine on Friday from Clova to the new orange trail to Club Gatineau for lunch. No way were we going back on 83 east !!

I can’t believe they actually opened this section ! Trail is a mess, no snow on the road and logging trucks flying down the narrow road. Very dangerous

Any idea if you can get to Parent for gas and food. Map shows it closed before town .

Any info on getting from 345 to 83 heading to Windigo ?

This popped on my phone this morning. Hard to believe this North Shore trip in 2005 was 19 years ago.😬 First trip out on my used 2003 Legend 800 long track. It burned to the ground in Les Escoumins. I guess Google didn't figure that was anything I wanted to remember. I took the bus back to Quebec city where the truck was. My friend had to ride alone back to the truck. He's the one eating the Brownie Eruption, not me.😀
LOL Google must hate you ! 😆

Good day everyone!
I've had to break out my snowmobile gear lately wearing it to strike here in Quebec. Yes, I'm a teacher and we'd had a few strikes over the past month.
I also had to put my summer gear away as winter was slowly settling in. Looking forward to the upcoming snowmobile season, already discussing and making plans on possible rides with lover. In the meantime, I wanted to share this close encounter I had on my paddle board. I've been hoping for this for four years.
You’re not kidding “Holy Shit” ! !
That was awesome !

EastMark's thinking is right on. I am along the same lines. Follow the food trail around Quebec. A scenic mountain sight can't compare to a bowl of hot Poutine on the table encompassing all your senses of pleasure. Ten years later you won't even remember where that scenic mountain was, but eat Quebec food and you'll remember the where, the when, and who you were with.
Oh, and don't forget to try the crepes!!!
Wow, man how true! I remember so many great meals, people and places that we’ve been to over the years.

Mario has put some money into his property.
We stayed there twice last year and were told a contractor from Montreal bought Kanawata. Mario and Celine are running the place. All the work that’s been done looks amazing !
Hopefully get a chance to return this year.

Our first trip to Quebec in ‘98 we stopped here for a break. New building is much nicer. I’m not sure if new building is in same exact location ?

Wow, that's to bad. I have stayed there with the boys and the wife many times. Real was always good to us,food and service was good. In the 25 years going to Quebec, Real's was the only place we ever got a drink on the house !
RIP Real Masse'
