    Quick Update!

Took the 3 O2s to the Dealer (PLT in Pittsfield, Ma), they knew about the Warranty Bulletin, Ordered 3 new shields, came in with a warranty explanation.

Shields are not bad to replace, does take a bit of fiddling.

No Rainbows in new shields, no separation out of the box.

I'll let you know more once we ride again!

    Later

Do you happen to a picture of new shields?

It's 158 miles according to your screen shot.  Call the Ski Doo tank 10 gallons (it's actually 10.6 on an XS/XP) plus you 3.9 extra gas.  So just call it 13 gallons all together.  If you can get 12.2 mpg you will make it with about 1.5 gallons left.  Or you can stop at the sawmill (cash only)and top off, then, no worries.

Where about is sawmill on the map?

Be careful on the 3 past St Simeon, trail closure was in place last Wednesday, we could not pass to get to the Taddoussac ferry, friends of ours had to flatbed to the ferry crossing.  Not good.  We ended up doubling back and setting out the next am on an alternate route up to Valin.

Looks like they just groomed that section!

Hey MXZeerider  did ski Doo give you a free shield? Any type of a recall ?

Yes i got my replacement shield free of charge. I'm not sure if it's recall, but from what I've heard, i think it should be. We're talking about $600+ helmet here.

Hasn't been groomed for past 7hrs. Isn't the trail supposed to be marked red if closed? Last time we were there that stretch was really beat up, it was as bad as tug hill ny lol

If you simply did a normal 200 miles per day at normal riding speed you would have a great week and be able to enjoy the ride.

I would recommend starting at the https://www.hotelsignaturequebec.com just north of Quebec city (safe spot for trailers) If you head north first followed by south down through Mont Valens make time to stop at the https://www.fairmont.com/richelieu-charlevoix/ on the last night, it will leave you a 130 mile day at the end back to https://www.hotelsignaturequebec.com and you can drive home that day. I did this last Feb 1, prepare for COLD weather in Mont Valens.

Have fun, If you are Jan 25 to Feb 1st, Im sure we will pass each other at some point.

That's exactly where we started from last time. Then we crossed the river on a barge and stayed at some motel in middle of nowhere, after that we spent a night at universal(was very nice)  and back to signature(back then it was 4 seasons I think)

    Nice video.  Great conditions depicted.

Funny how the internet twists things up.

Circled area is currently mostly green with some yellow on grooming delay map (looking good many places now that snow is flying).  Giddy up.

Not much room between those powerline poles on the ride from Charlies to Malone.

There sure isn't enough room between them poles. One time we went up there during week and trails where freshly groomed pretty much 95% of the way to malone. We got to malone from Williamstown by 11 am and started just a little past 7am. Was one of my best ny trips to date.

If you rode 458 miles in one day in NY,  which I find hard to believe,  you and your sled would be kaput for a week! :shok:

My Yamahas in the past could never be able a ny trip without something braking (suspension vise). I switched to skidoo and these long trips are breeze now

  9. Here in my home state of ny we rarely do less then 300 a day and our highest was last year we did 458 in a day. But that being said,  we've been to Quebec a few times and can't seem to do more than 250 a day. Probably due to us being in an unfamiliar places. But we don't mind we like more relaxed rides to. We did this trip like 2 years ago and it took us about 4 days, the whole trip was around 900 miles
