  1. As we travel south on 597 it starts snowing heavier. Soon my dashboard and gps is covered. There’s a good amount of powder on the trail. By the time we reached trail 5 it was back to light flurries.
  2. Wednesday 3/1 213 miles I make a run to Tim’s and we have breakfast at the hotel. It’s clear sky’s this morning. We get loaded up and head out to get gas at MultiGaz. It starts to flurry on the way. I can remember when this gas station was closed. The gentleman that now owns it said he bought it 11 years ago. I’m getting old. We are off towards the orange local to 597. I spot the team Ice sticker on the bridge. This orange trail feels nicer than yesterday if that’s possible.
  3. Thanks for the ride along. We enjoyed following along with your trip. Mr Ice has always been one of our favorites to follow. Team Mr. and Mrs. have lots of great stories and photos. It was very nice to meet with you.
  4. Thanks Mr & Mrs Ice for your ideas. We stayed at La Plante. We ate dinner at StHubert and breakfast at Tim’s. Now to start our ride to Carlton.
  5. Hi Tom Its great to be back on the trail. I’m feeling a bit rusty but we’re getting back into the swing of backpacking. We are having a good time. Thanks.
  6. We were doing 65 and I spotted lights behind me. I let two machines pass and never saw them again! The trail was great.
  7. Tuesday 190 miles We went to Perce via 5. Trails were all good (except the local in). On the way out 5 to 597 and orange local to Gaspe were the best of the trip so far. We made good time. I am feeling beat. Going to make this short.
  8. The quick report (rushed) Monday Matane to Riviere au Renard Mixed trails on the way. Trails out pretty good. Then like other people posted around Cap Chat - Sainte Ann not great. Starting Madeleine Center fresh groomed all the way! We passed 4 groomers last night.
  9. It’s great to be back in La Belle Provence. We didn’t know we would have a two year lapse when driving home March 2020. We are in Matane after a 785 mile drive. It started snowing around Rimouski. When we reached Matane the snow stopped. It’s 7 degrees F. We will post up conditions as we travel.
  10. Here's a few pic's going west on the north side.
  11. That was a great sled for about 10,000 miles. Then it ate a piston. It didn't owe me anything. I had the engine worked on in the Saguenay. It didn't hold up well and I moved on.
  12. I will be starting a Gaspe trip Sunday as well. Hope you have a great trip. My 03 800SDI
  13. Hi Mike, We are driving up on the 25th. Its been a two year absence. I haven't figured out what my plan is yet. Hope to see you at the hotel.
  14. Thanks Alain & Krikri, Very nice to see the sculptures. We went to the festival for the first time in 1999. Very talented people in St-Come. Back in 2013 we passed by... Mrs. GT got a kick out of this display.
  15. I haven't parked my truck & trailer in Rimouski. I have stayed at Hotel Rimouski (a ride through town snow coverage hit and miss) and Hotel L'Empress (an easier ride). Both have restaurants. I would call about parking.
  16. https://www.journaldequebec.com/2022/11/07/monts-valin-de-nouveaux-frais-pour-les-motoneigistes Google Translate: Snowmobilers who want to have fun this winter on the Monts-Valin, in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, will now have to register and pay to access it, as well as to travel on the territory of the ZEC Martin-Valin. This pilot project stems from the decision in assembly, a few days earlier, to open the ZEC year-round. The off-trail snowmobile activity, for example, will cost $10 per day per snowmobile and additional patrollers will be deployed on the territory. “There is a lack of coordination to fully understand what is coming this winter,” said the general manager of the Federation of Snowmobile Clubs of Quebec, Stéphane Desroches. We were not consulted directly.” The unveiling of the project provoked many reactions among members of the ZEC. Currently, the only information available about the project is on the ZEC Martin-Valin Facebook page. A video of the assembly was published there, but the management of the organization is slow to unveil the project publicly. Its director, who was to call back the TVA Nouvelles team on Monday, did not do so. Despite certain concerns, the Fédération des Clubs de motoneigistes du Québec, which is working on a project aimed at better regulating off-trail snowmobiling in Québec, sees the initiative in a positive light. "It's good and I congratulate the ZEC since it could encourage others to further develop their territory in winter, but I still wonder how they are going to check all the snowmobilers on such a large territory", he indicated.
  17. I'm not sure if this is what your looking for... it's 44 miles from the gas station at Sainte-Irène
  18. Hi Alain, You are off to a very nice start this season. Thanks for taking us along. Our 2021 and 2022 trail pass did not get installed on the machine. I have 2023 on now. Your beautiful pictures have me salivating to get up there. The new camera is taking some great shots. Happy Trails !
  19. Wow the black and whites look great! Very nice work.
  20. T shirt weather today in NYC (63F). I'm glad to see your grooming report. Thinking snow.
  21. A garage door never looked so good. Well done!
  22. ramming speed in reverse 😆
  23. Very nice ride. Thanks for posting. I would load up the trailer any time for a ride like that. Go Team Ice!
