This could be bad for everyone.

Perce Rock is always a crap shoot.  It is not groomed like the main trail.  And it is about ten miles in one way.  The south shore is very easy to make good time on.

It works for me on my iPad but not my laptop. Some days I like you some i don't lol

Just tried and it worked.
Also FireFox does seem to work.

Great idea.

Last year it was thin but passable.  The two years before that were mint condition the whole way (except parking lots and gas stations).

Good to see planning on being up the day after Christmas.

I'm there a lot in the winter I have thought about a mtn bike ride there in the fall but my cardio isn't that great lol.

We rode motorcycles through that area the first week of September and saw no fire damage anywhere. We were on our way back from a James Bay-Trans Tiaga trip. We rode the dirt roads from Senneterre to La Tuque passing through Parent, Clova and Casey. We even camped at the old radar site in Parent with no sign of any recent fires so I believe all is good to go in that area. 

I have been using this for years... great reference for checking historical averages compared to current temperatures.

It's the aging owners.  They can't go on forever and if they don't have kids or a kid that want to take over what else can they do?

In the past Jack was awesome. He was a great guy and we had a great time at Hotel Copper. Rooms were relatively clean, dated, simple and I always felt it was like staying at a rooming house. But definitely a fun place to come out of the snow. 
 
Sadly, I had a similar experience this week. He was short and irritated. Asked me if I knew what was happening in Quebec! ?? You have to take the package $169 each. Salmon or chicken croquet. I said we would rather just pay the room and order from the menu. He said there is no menu. 😞
The table of 4 guys beside us asked if they could start with a salad, they would be happy to pay. Well it was the same salad as on the plate. Lettuce and dressing. 
 
We ate, they basically shut the lights off and you feel like it’s time to go. I think it was jacks wife and daughter working. 
Last year our room had no hot water ( top of stairs king bed) and we were in a hurry so I brushed my teeth and sucked it up. This year, same room and no hot water. He was mad at me that I asked for a different room. We were speaking with others on the trail they said same thing. They complained and he said wait…45 minutes no hot water. 
 
Just a sad atmosphere. I would love to help support them but two years now. I am going to look for options. 
 
it would help if he wasn’t chain smoking in his office. 😞
 
Would love to hear suggestions.

Another great day. Did 175 mile loop around Val Dor. Got caught speeding, got off with a warning.

Day 4 - This was to be a positioning day, and we accomplished it. Left Matane early this morning and made it to Thetford Mines which will give us an easy run back to Vermont in the morning.  Will post pics and summary after we pour some beers down. 409 miles
