  1. I used to work rotations in northern alberta. Found my truck battery dead a cpl times when I flew home after a 14 day shift. A cheap solar panel that plugged into the cigarette lighter in the truck solved that issue. Just plug it in and set the panel on the dash. Truck battery was always charged when i flew home.
  2. 17 x 20 big enough?? These guys advertise vehicle storage. I'd just search boat / rv storage. There's a viable solution available for sure. https://www.depotium.com/en/self-storage/quebec/quebec-city/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=storage in&utm_campaign=20877751857&gad_source=1
  3. Yep. We use nothing but cordless on our commercial construction sites. Battery technology needs to improve again for transportation to be feasable. So does the charging network. That will be the biggest hurdle in remote areas.
  4. Oh no the expedition won't go that far. Lol.
  5. That is actually the usage scenario that makes sense. The average cottager on inland lakes runs their PWC for an hour or two at most and then returns to the same dock where it sits for hours. Batteries can handle this range. You get out of just about all maintenance and don't have to winterize them. It's the one electric useage scenario I can actually see working for my own use. Sleds going up and down a ski hill probably work too. Decide to take off on a multiday saddlebag trip in the Gaspe and it all falls apart. I think the real question is what did they figure out with that R and D budget. They either have some big technical breakthroughs that will allow them to attain more investor cash, or these guys are gonna tank. Hopefully they didn't spend it on a guage or an app. Still haven't sorted out why they're chasing sales in South Africa and the UAE. You'd think you could find the sales a lot closer to home at less cost. https://snowgoer.com/top-stories/electric-snowmobile-maker-taiga-lays-off-70-pauses-production/32338/
  6. They're sitting on $10 million in inventory (about 500 sleds or water craft). That can't be the real issue with a $70 million loss though. Said they spent like $15 million on R and D alone last year. Definitely more to this story.
  7. So my 2015 with 30,000 kms that i paid $8000 for 5 years ago isn't still worth $12,000 to sell today? Guess I should pull my ad down. Lol. Considering the economy, the end of Covid and the weather, I'd say BRP has nothing to spitt at with those numbers. Still pretty respectful and better than pre-covid.
  8. Hope they're carrying a firearm. Heading up into polar bear country. Bears are probably still out on the sea ice, but I wouldn't be taking any chances.

  10. No local knowledge, but groomers are out today according to the app. That's positive
  11. Nice!!! Now that makes sledding look cheap.
  12. Facebook says they want to preserve the base through the warm spell. Will re-open if it snows.
  13. California stole it. https://www.facebook.com/100067913960512/posts/pfbid02stifnyY1Heq5UVEiJi6a6fTbHAbkLzoEXmsg8W7Ai8nzuTnmUGWgbYKcEPuJ3fJjl/
  14. That's kinda my plan too. Thanks for the 1st hand report.
  15. Anyone been through town in the last few days? Are trails holding?
