  1. Good to be back at RDL. Can someone turn the heat up just a smidgen? 😎 Camera didn't come out much today.
  2. I've been waiting for this post and updates all year long Jack and Sandy!! I hope our paths cross this year again! Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Years. Terry.
  3. MPG might be much better with the 129 (vs my 137) and no studs. I get the Poo oil for a whole lot less than $50 (and the Doo oil isn't all that much cheaper)!! It's time for a change buddy!!
  4. This looks awesome mikerider! That's an all new rear skid and suspension - the early reports are it's better than rMotion.
  5. I shot a GoPro video of my ride on the "X" model 900T. This is the shortened version. I get roosted by the 900T in front of me and shortly after that was where I could stretch it out a little. It was not pinned.
  6. My Bv2S is an XL and the Oxygen I tried was a Large. It was pretty tight and I would opt for the XL Oxygen vs. the L if I was buying one for myself.
  7. I'm disappointed they didn't put the 900 Ace in the 129 G4 and I don't understand why they don't put the non-turbo 900 in the MXZ X. Except for 8 or 10 days a year, all my riding is in the NEK and northern NH. There are two 850s in our group, one is an Adrenaline gade and one MXZ X. For the trails I ride most of the time, I can't exactly explain why I don't care for the Ski-Doo 137 and yet love my Polaris 137 (as well as the 129 MXZ X). One thing is for sure, I'll be keeping the Polaris another season (unless Polaris announces a 129 Axys Monday night).
  8. I went to the NH Snodeo Friday and rode the new 900 Turbo in the Grand Touring, Adrenaline, Enduro and X versions. Wasn't very crowded so I kept riding them over and over. Also tried an 850 Enduro, 850 Backcountry X Renegade 147, XRS 850 gade, X 850 gade, mid-season MXZ 600R and the Blizzard 600R. I really wished they had a non-turbo 900 in the gen 4 to try... My impression of the 900 Turbo is if you have a 1200 now, you will be very happy and/or love the 900T. Great power, no turbo lag, can't even hear the turbo, sled gets quieter the faster you go. It should be no surprise, the 900 Tubro feels very heavy compared to an 850 or 600 in the same chassis. In general, I find the Gen 4 steering to be heavy feeling (it certainly is heavier than the steering on my Pro S Switchback) and the 900 T compounds that. Of the four versions I rode, I felt the "X" package rode the best. I also got to try the new Oxygen helmet out on the trail. It is noticeably lighter than the Bv2S and quieter (there is additional sound protection in it). I didn't find a great improvement of left and right visibility but the visibility looking down is amazing. Heated visor and plugged in is mandatory (or cracked open). I closed it not plugged in and it started to fog right up. My favorite sled of for the conditions and trail type was the Blizzard 600R. The mid-seas MXZ 600R is way too stiff for my likening. The new 600R is very different than the older 600 e-tec. Most notable is no engine breaking like the older 600.
  9. I think no offering of 4 stroke in the Gen 4 129 is a big whole in the line up. Looks like Alicia will be keeping her 900 Blizzard for a very long time.
  10. If mike ran out of gas, it wouldn't be the first time!
  11. Amqui to RDL and back in the USA!!! Left Amqui early this morning and the plan was to see the snow trees on this trip then back to RDL. Riding solo way out in that no man's land (587), in near white out conditions at times (thank goodness for GPS), got to my head and I decided I wanted to be on a blue trail! I probably should have stuck to green and club trails because the traffic+temps+fresh snow = loads of bumps on trail 5. No big deal, the Axys just eats that junk right up!! ;-) I have to say, I was both happy and sad to get back to RDL. Time to start dreaming about the next trip!
  12. Very sad to part ways with Mike today. I tried to get him to come...Really nice ride over here to Amqui. Got here around 2 and went out for a 50 mile loop. Jack and Sandy, I had a great time riding and hanging with you guys. Really hope our paths cross again this season!! Lets see if I can get pictures to load from an iPad...
  13. Brrrr cold. Gave the Poo a quick bath after the Doos broke the ice for me. Only damage was my ego!
  14. The mayor of RDL (mikerider) lands there this weekend and I'm meeting up with him on the 12th for the week. Hope we can catch up! Terry
  15. You are not going to be happy with my two word description of the PIDDs GPS function: almost useless. The GPS functions about the same as a $80us Garmin eTrex. As Cnc said, trail maps are provided by clubs willing to participate with Polaris and participation seems to be only popular in the mid-west US states. If you are looking for GPS functions such as trail numbers, intersection numbers, lodging, gas, routing and maybe even turn-by-turn directions, you need to get a Garmin with an add on trail package. It's a great gauge but not a great GPS. Here is the level of trail detail on the PIDD for northern VT and NH: Not a great picture, but all those green lines on the Garmin are trails. Here is a better picture of the same area shown on the PIDD in the top picture. This is a Garmin with an add on package.
  16. Garmin Zumo 590 and Garmin 276Cx both have a 5" screen. The 276Cx isn't a touch screen but uses the same mount as the Montana 610, Zumo has it's own mount. I bought the Montana (used via this forum) and it has gpstrailmasters.com trail maps. The Montana has a 4" screen and I mounted to the handlebars via a RAM mount. The RAM mounts are excellent!. I haven't felt like I needed a larger screen, probably because I have it closer to me than mounted atop of the gauge cluster. A 5" Nuvi with a AquaBox and a RAM mount is an option as well. I don't know anything about Track-Maps, but I've been happy with gpstrailmasters.com. Hope that helps.
  17. I told you to forget your camera this trip..... :-/
