  1. GT, very sorry to hear of your loss, every person at my shop has lost a family member, we are all looking forward to better times, I too am getting my second shot tomorrow, Best Wishes to you and your family, Bob.
  2. what are they doing , pretty interesting piece of equipment.
  3. A lot of talk right now about how long shot immunity is and whether or not shot immunity also prevents transmission....and lots of countries will not have any or enough vaccine, I hope Canada and the US get all the vaccine they need and we can have a 2 nation agreement....but the clock is ticking, we will probably have a very good idea where this is going by July. Maine better get ready, if the border does not open, they will reap big rewards.
  4. As a general rule when stopped by police I try hard to be friendly and polite, realizing if it starts going in the wrong direction, I will most likely not be on the winning side...I may not like it...but usually most of these guys respond well to being treated with respect, and when in Canada, bad manors may result in no more border crossings.Who really knows what kind of notes end up at customs.
  5. tracks USA, best place for tracks if you are putting them on yourself.
  6. looks like the perfect place for flooding
  7. Teddy from the Island Pond area, everyone knew he was there to take advantage of who ever he could when ever he could...the exact kind of guy I would love to see on a tow truck in my front yard.
  8. I have known a few officers like this over the last 40 years....always dreamed I would some day get one of their vehicles in my repair shop and administer a little justice.
  9. So, when do the ICEWOMAN STICKERS DEBUT, I think they will be more popular than the current iceman stickers!!
  10. Common practice in New Hampshire these days, collecting money, that is what it is...same deal in Mass...that is why I will not ride in either state, you will be lucky to state your case in court and they know most will not take it that far, yes they can screw with your drivers license, I hear you loud and clear, it is very unfair taking advantage of people doing nothing wrong, that border cannot open soon enough, Quebec offers the very best hospitality.
  11. 525 miles....lowest total in since the 70's...went to north west new york for 5 days...stayed far away from old forge...I was impressed with the quality , smoothness of the well groomed trails....mostly 8 to 10....winding, wooded trails with very little traffic and 4 to 7 feet depending on where you were...it was all new to me and we would have never found our way out without a GPS, worst marked trail system I have ever seen....in 5 days we routinely saw sleds at intersections with no clue where they were or where to go.
  12. Feels like we just left there and it has been a year, last season was much better weather wise , nice feeling to pull into Central and visit friends, thanks for the pic!!
  13. And the GPS has greatly added to this adventure !
  14. I always add extra wheel kits and run a stainless steel wing on the inside of my skis to throw the ice and snow the carbides cut into the track windows, keeps things cool but a lot of dust following me.
  15. No problem, we have a printing press and we are going to build him a low rider with an escalator.
  16. Many of us have been very lucky....nobody rides for years without a lot of close calls...that statement is always in the back of my mind....and no matter how prepared or good you may be....it can always be someone else's doing...it is a dangerous sport...and it can happen to any of us, glad he is OK, he is a tough old guy, I hope I can get where he is at his age.
  17. Thanks for ruining my day, hopefully the mid-terms will correct this BS!@^%$#&!! Very worst start to an administration in my entire life.
  18. He is not a young man, and broken ribs are a tough thing, only time heals them, very painful and very hard to get comfortable to sleep, I wish him a speedy recovery, hope he is OK.
  19. Starting year 48 right now, 35 years without a lunch break, 46 years 7 days a week...I am closer everyday to r.t..i...r.....e.....m....e....n....t. I read Mike Rider's posts and dream all the time that it will be me sooner than later. When I was younger I would have loved to own a place out in the bush, probably like most of us on here, now I just want to spend time out there enjoying it, that's what we all work hard for, I really feel for these guys right now, they have put their heart and soul into it and they are being tested like never before and it is not their own doing. It is certainly something where you have to love it and follow your heart...and having a few bucks put away is a really big help...this is no time to be low on cash.
  20. Running a business, any business ...you really need to pay attention...these small outfitters in the bush....it is all about the occupancy rate...when we are there and it is packed...it all looks great...they are drowning in cash....but 5 months of the year...they are trying to cover for when there is nobody there..but still a ton of work to be done and paid for....out in the bush...this job is demanding...both physically and financially.
  21. Stan, some great memories there, he was a true gentlemen and legendary for being a great guy and a great host, everyone who checked in got to sit down in the lobby and have a free beer and socialize with him and maybe get to hear him play, may he rest in peace forever.
  22. JG, cooking, your own private office, has her own sled...does Linda have a fishing boat...she is a keeper...you are being spoiled!!
  23. The Promise Land....truer words were never spoken on this site!....As for Snowmaster, truly great guy, a lot of fun and I look forward to the next ride with him. Only thing that could add to adventures would be if Bernard at Safari was still with us singing these songs while playing his guitar.
