Phil: I have a 2014 Yamaha Viper. It always felt unstable going into a corner. Had to let off on the gas until through the corner. Last year, near the end of the season I was advised to put on a set of Woody's Slim Jim's. I put them on and I now have a sled that corners like mad. Gotta love it. Hank tried my sled as he has the same model, went out and bought the slim Jim's, new sled steering for him as well. If you still have the Yamaha and plan on using it, this would be a great investment. Hope to see you this winter. Take Care. Combat!!

I've been going to Quebec for 23 years and found the good and the bad. I think a lot has to do with mother nature. This year I did notice a couple of times when the trails were not as good as I might have expected. After talking about it with friends we noticed there were some surprising snow storms that happened just before the weekend. When this happens it take the groomers a couple of days to catch up. Once they have things back in shape the trails were great again. All in all I thought it was a great winter and lasted longer than usual once it started. I rode most of the time in Lanaudier. Looking forward to next season. Combat

I cross the border 5 times each winter to snowmobile in Quebec. The border does not want you to leave your sleds in Canada, I found that by stopping at the border you can go into the office and they have a form that they fill out with your name, address, sled vin # etc. They say that if anyone asks you where your sled is just show them your paperwork. Always carry the form with you when snowmobiling. At the end of the year when returning, stop at the office before leaving and show them your paperwork. your good to go. I believe what they are trying to prevent is U.S. guys selling sleds in Canada. the paperwork gives a time when you need to have your sleds out of Canada. They made mine this year for before May 1st. Took a ride to La Cabanon. Temperature was 19 Degrees. It snowed all the way from Montreal. Lac Stanialaus was covered , however I wouldn't say safe to ride. Total accumulation about 4". Four wheelers were out but all trails closed for snowmobiles. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Stay safe. Combat

Phil: You won't be sorry with the Viper. Hank and I have 2014 vipers with about 3600 miles on them. Everything has been great. They had a fuel mapping issue which they have a remap available for. These sleds run great at 60-70 for extended periods. Just keep on ticking. I also have a 2005 Rage with 8100 miles on and it is just like new. Great motors! Lou lou's was great as long as you didn,t move the tables around. Pierette would get pretty upset. She and Yevonne are still living across the street from the restaurant. Yevonne sits in the big picture window and watches all the sleds go by. If you wave he'll give a big wave back. My favorites are Au Vieux Moulin A Scie [ the sawmill] in St Michele des Saints Dore Almondine Walleye served over a bed of rice . Lacabanon They still do the hanging beef on Saturday night if the motel is full. Cabane Chez Hill [cabin on the hill] west of Grand Mere. they used to serve Meat Pie. A pie with regular crust filled with beef, veal,and pork mixture along with potatoes , gravey, and vegetable. It was great on a cold day 70 miles from our motel. Keep em coming. Combat

I just read the latest report on stolen sleds and vehicles. I hate to here about Quebec having these problems, however we must keep in mind there are vehicle and snowmobile thefts all over the U.S as well as Canada. The key to a sucessful trip is a little bit of planning and common sence. Only stay at places you know have good security and even then take the precautions as mentioned in the recent St Zenon and Mt Laurier theft thread. As most of us on this site know, Quebec has some of the best snowmobiling in the northeastern part of North America. Before we get too wrapped up in talking down Quebec, Lets all use our heads and don't bad mouth the whole area over a few random incidents. Lets be positive and enjoy what we have available to all of us. Be safe and ride right!! Combat

I've stayed there for a number of years, not lately however. The owners are great and the place is very clean and well run, with restaurant and bar to boot. I'm not sure about secure parking. If you call there ask for Keith, he is from Massachusets and speaks english.He can give you the lowdown. Phone # is 450-833-1331. Tell them the Bagelboy sent you. The Sawmill next door is also a good place to eat as well. You can walk over about 75 yards. Have a great time . Combat

I agree with you folks, it would be a travesty to remove the original buildings and build something new.Pierce Brosnan the movie actor stared in a movie filmed there called Grey Owl. There are some great shots of the inside and outside of the building in this movie and the story is based on a true life of a would be Indian who went on to be one of the first conservationist to save the beaver from extinction. A very interesting movie. John Koubec's wife that you talk about was a graduate of Syracuse University for what it's worth!! I have great memories of this place as well. As for the age thing, I'm going to be 67 this december and still feel like I'm in my 40's. Can't wait to ride Quebec this winter. Take care all and have a safe 2012 season. regards Combat!!

Timbo: That would be great if they can put together a connector trail. For many years we stayed in St Michele des saints and would make a loop to L'annunciation, pick up the rail bed and get off just past St Agath.We then would go to St Lucie and work our way to Notre Dame De La Merci. From there we went North East to La Glacier ,St Zenon And back to St Michele des Saints. This was a great ride with a real mixed bag of trails and scenery. It would be nice to take that ride again.
