  1. We aren't brand loyal, but when we make it back without a "uncontrollable mechanical event" We actually say it every time, followed by a high five (or a big hug) then a🙏 To the sled gods. some of us have had better luck than others. some of us have had no luck over the years. Not mentioning any names. (Name starts with P) lol
  2. I see an easy business'entrepreneurial opportunity with a tour! Where do you sign up for next year?
  3. Forestel is approx 315 miles from Maniwaki.
  4. If your going this Thursday you may want to consider driving further North based on the forcast.
  5. How many miles on the 850? plenty of action on doo talk regarding this issue. im at 3100 miles and no issues🙏
  6. Rode 325 miles yesterday from Valdor to louvicourt down 386 - 63 -13 and back to the truck. 386 was a first time trail for us and what a treat although there was so much ferry dust on top. Got to be a top 5 trail when mint. we then proceeded to drive home in a blizzard the entire way and a 6hr 45 min drive turned into 11 hrs downtown Ottawa is beautiful in a snow storm.😥💤
  7. The oil goes on top of the gas can "Double Stack" it takes a bit of getting used to but works out very well.
  8. Forestel Valdor Sat PM Phil, JOHN, Eddie, Dave, Greg, George, Greg, and Dan Phil1, Crazysnow, Eddieskidoo, Skidoo420, Doonali, Jemesouviens, Apexyoungin, Greg?? Fantastic🍻Conversation What a great time seeing old faces and meeting new! BJ Scranton1
  9. Phil is behaving very well. i agree about the gas tank but it really is a none issue with the better fuel economy and 4 gallon Jerry. Phil and I agree that my range exceeds his with us both having the 4 gallon Jerry can. as a side note. My partner in crime got me an easy pour spout for the jerry and it pours as good as a gas pump. With the linq system it is so easy to dump in the four gallons and a bonus to bypass a non premium stop like we did at lac Fallon my range is 220 miles in the poorest conditions. That usually gets u where u need to go! Love the new 850 hit 109 on the GPS yesterday on an ice road headed to Goen north of Clova if she doesn't grenade she is a winner
  10. Clova to ValDor 212 miles and a bit more novice boondocking. Trails are far from white asphalt, lots of fluff on top from the recent snow. Trails great overall just a little bit slower than normal and burning more fuel.
  11. Light day 212 miles did some off trail exploring to mix it up. Still a bit colder than a comfortable level. Suppose to warm up tomorrow! clova for the night
  12. We bagged the chibougamu leg of the trip due to the extreme cold warning up there and my brush with frost bite. headed to Clova for the evening. Anyone in the area 🍻
  13. Looks like we will miss u guys by a night. Phil and I have revised the itinerary. we should be in Clova this evening.
  14. Ray the medium is much better than the stock as u know. with these temps I would take another 8 inches.....it's doesn't help being 6'3 as well. ❄️❄️❄️
  15. I had a situation years ago when my entire cheek was an ice cube. saguenay bill hooked me up with some bag balm which really helped that situation. the cold is definitely nothing to mess with! caught this early.... we were only riding 20 Min and my face wasnt frozen. all good and no worries. Trails were great. cant wait for doo to come out with a high windshield for Gen 4.
  16. Trip 3 The Eagle has landed and boy did we find a gem. Auberge des Deux Rives 1 hr south of maniwaki 6 hrs from Scranton (313 miles) and trans Quebec 13 goes right thru the parking lot. 5 clicks from the rr bed that runs to maniwaki
  17. Doonali where and when are u launching from? BJ
  18. Carry a few quarts of oil or carry a few extra hundred pounds under the hood?⚓️⚓️ That tis the question? 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️
  19. This is a set up that works really well. we are doing a similar loop next week.....I'll put two gallons in the three gallon Jerry can and have no worries. the linq system is great
  20. Some may feel that's the greatest trail on earth. I remember in my early twenties being fascinated with that section. the fact you can go Wide open for so long (minutes) and still ride safely was just something special. The bed is elevated and so straight u can see the curvature of the earth on the horizon. Large wild life, like the kind if u hit will kill u, and on coming traffic are removed from the equation. The "Throw em the Bird" type I don't mind unless they have been shivering for quite some time. Another reason to have a high Windshield.....Those were the days I was concerned my sled looked cool and have since grown up.
