Dam under 10,000 miles that must be the 2 stroke club? If so I'd drop that down to 8,000. I'm out I'm almost double that.
Headed up on the 23rd for nine days

That's a hump in the most ideal conditions with very experienced riders who are very familiar with trails.  My mind is telling me more like 250-270 as we just made that run.

If it's your first time in QC I would break it up with a night at the Delta.

Only a couple more days left on this adventure run, yesterday was a blue sky day and a retrace of our 85 mile ride to sawmill54 on single track trails, than groomed over to Dolbeau. A coupe of long cuts and we were in to Auberge la difference with 230 on. A visit to the Skidoo dealer for some hi fax on our new recruits sled and a drive belt purchase.  A very nice seafood dinner last night at la difference.  Very nice stop here.

    onto to Quebec City tonight

    Happy trails RR

Heres some photos of me and my uncles trip. We stayed at the Auberge Gouverneur Shawinigan. Day one we rode the river north. Then took 360 West to 345 South. Had Lunch fuel at L'Auberge Le Cabanon then took 23 east back to the hotel. Helped a groomer out on 23 he needed help lifting the back to check something. Great food at Pacini at the hotel. roughly 230 miles. Day two we wanted to do a little less mileage. My uncle was having helmet issues. Took 3 south to 63 west. Then took 350 west. Got Fuel and Lunch at pourvoirie-du-lac-blanc place was packed. Great food. Plane landed on the ice while we were there and saw group of dog sleds. Then we took 350 north to 23. Took 23 to Hotel Sacomie just to check it out then back to 23 to hotel. All trails were in great shape sometimes we had only maybe two or three tracks on a freshly groomed trailed.

distance not super great but we are never that far apart just enough tobe out of the snow dust, they have a warning beep to let you know you are getting out of range
batter has lasted all day. Says 13hr talktime but not sure it also said 1.2 mile range in flat terrain maybe.
    Sound quality is excellent.
    so far good for us

We were a two some....I had to get my partner back regardless.
The guys also wanted the sled so bad I thought it was a sting operation and I really don't need to risk dealing with that kind of BS in my life.

    Sunday Day 2

Nice stay at Gouin, Internet now costs $5 to get a code to use it, well ok. What can you do. Talked with some Canadian Army Rangers there. They were waiting on the rest of their unit to arrive and tgen gonna be doing some excercises there with their Bear Cat sleds 24 of them parked out front. Pretty interesting, we ran into the same guys at Pel Chat a few seasons back. Late start today but who cares. Launched at 9:35. Road from Lodge to trail back to 83. To TQ83 west. This is what Quebec trails are all about. This is perfection from here to Parent just delicious. Into Parent and get some gas. I have not been through here in years and I love the new trail right past gas station and out of Parent, good stuff. Hammer down to Clova and we get some gas there, we park on the tracks cause we like to live dangerously. Went inside to have lunch Team Ice style, candy bar and a pepsi a few minutes by the wood stove and a few stickers placed, we out. Next stop Lac Fallon. Trail continues to no disappoint, we had a group of 10 sleds pass the other direction just after Parent near jct with 13 but no one else since. Quiet out here...perfect. Cruise past Balbazard, nice to see the forest growing back now after so long looking like desolate moonscape. We are rolling. Be warned there is a serious hole about 10 km east of Fallon. I saw my life flash before my eyes. I though it was game over. Big washout probably 2 feet across and deep the whole width of the trail. Thought for a second about trying to lock her down but when in doubt.....throttle out. Hammered the gas and while radioing to Snohorse to watch out. Lifted the skis enough to clear the far side and bang over it. It was a moment to say the least. Yes it had 2 ribbons marking it but not before just at the canyon. 3km further another but this one just running water and not deep with a go around. Into Fallon in one piece. Gas and go. Roxanne says 3 hours to Val D’or. Ha! Yeah no.
Out of fallon at 4:20. 83 still good. We take the local trail toward Louvincourt. First glance says this aint been groomed in a long time it’s not terrible by any means but not what we had on 83. Maybe 20km in, here sits the groomer broken down on the trail. Well that explains alot. No choice we are committed, onward. To 386 and it’s choppy too, hmm this decision to come west is looking questionable. Up to gas at Louvincort its 5:35. Gas and quick break and back to 83. Much better than the 386. Closer to Val D’or better it gets. Into Hotel Forestel with 327 miles at 6:10pm. 5-6 other sleds here. That’s it.
Gps says average moving speed of 72km per hour. Not bad. We will see what tmmrw brings.

    Until next time.

I am not sure what date I will be coming back in February but does not look like our dates will align for a meeting of sled talk. I will no longer be tied to a pre planned vacation date, as I am retiring in eleven days and trips will be on a whim, a good weather forecast and a whole new life style that is going to be difficult to adjust to after working the same job for 44 years that included working nights weekends and holidays.
Have a great time at RDL and save some snow for me.

I wouldn't worry about the grooming....The new software there using this year is still a work in progress and the accuracy seems sub par at best.

    Day 3
Off to a beautiful start, up before the sunrise and profited from it.
Changed up our scheduled route today for a shorter trek, given our location on the peninsula I figure some sight seeing will get in the way of riding and lengthen the day more than we like.
    Stay tuned for part deux.

I'm truly deplorable.  I absolutely LIVE for enjoying anyone's and everyone's ride reports, then I finally get out there and get caught up with being out there and stay up too late and wake up too early and don't frickin post?!  So sorry!  Here's a bit of last week's ride snippets:
Sunday Auburge Drakkar, great to see Reggie and be back in Shawini after the too-long off-season.  Kick-ass visit for eats & brews at the Devil's Hole. Congrats to them for naming an obscene price for their commercial production business and Molson-Coors paying it!‎ (Rumor is near $50mil: https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/trou-du-diable-joins-the-ranks-of-six-pints-specialty-beer-company-656394273.html)
Monday 1/15 Day #1) Truck to Trois Rivières to the sled shop to take delivery of the new love of my life. There's not a thing wrong with the old '13 XTX except a new Ice-Ripper after 20k miles. But this '18 model was last-call for this platform.

First fill up of fun-juice in Cap-de-la-Madeleine and we were off for a 4 day bagger. Four of us with totally different riding experiences ranging from Virgin to Addict, but all great on the chemistry.
Had some drifted up & whooped out fields on the first leg over to Grand Mere, then up the river with some single track up top by Mekinac but all pretty smooth. North & west of the river we had the trails we came for.
After the river we got gas @ Mattawin, no need for a sit-down lunch across the street @ Marineau‎, so we grabbed some deppenauer snacks and continued across the top of Reserve Mastigouche. We had some fluff and mostly indy track. Really hard base with plenty on top. Pretty cold when out of the sun, but no complaints.

West of the park plenty of refrozen ice spots across the trails from the warm up, some puckery "hang on" moments, but most patches groomed flat to the trail.

Some needed navigation, but almost all are frozen solid:

The very cool (and English speaking) groomer out of Canad Adventure was kind enough to wait with me while my guys caught up and passed safely:

Then on to a fine dinner & cocktails @ Auberge du Lac Taureau. No gas dude on duty. Waited a while at -15f. Dinner time!  Came to find out the next day he was colder than we were, walking a mile and a half in from the lake where his sled went kaput, but he had a GREAT attitude about it! Anyway, too bad our first day was so long that we had no umph to drag our sorry butts to the pool:

    To be continued...

This fall I did plumb my 4 gallon auxiliary tank into the system, a very easy job. I am now able to run 200 miles and eliminate the weight of that 4 gallons of gas from the rear of the sled as that fuel is used first. Cost about $20. Just tested it for our 1,100 mile loop worked flawlessly.

Without Mikerider, SaguenayBill, Groomer, Iceman, Jack/Sandi, Gutz, Etc and large portion of other members who try to go out of there way to post trip reports, accurate unbiased trail information, conditions, and fun banter, the views will go down the tube and this site sadly implodes.
censorship in any way is death!
If money is the issue the site owners need to look into closed loop marketing and advertising for anything.  Views are $$$ and I sure believe there are enough views to make this sustainable and draw more than enough advertising dollars from anywhere and everywhere.
A 22 year old computer science/ Business major could turn this site into a nice little side business in less than 24hrs without having to beg quebec businesses for a couple bucks.
