  1. I very much enjoy watching this race unfold. The warm weather has caused a reroute from 3500km to 3150km. If you want to watch this race you can download a link from the Cains Quest website and follow along the next four days. 50K to the winners. Enjoy

    Hands ON

I installed a Ridelite on the sled today. The company says they are back-ordered. I found one on ebay. Think SNOW
  3. Gentleman - Thank you for the speedy reply.
  4. I purchased a permit pre-season prior to Dec 9th. Since then i have purchased a new sled. My permit reflects last years sled info. What is required to switch the sled? ---mac---
  5. Does anyone have links to snow cameras in Quebec? I cannot find anything. It would be nice to follow along and see the snow depth increase. I have the NOAA snow depth website. It would be nice to see the real snow via live feed. Thanks
  6. Where are the M20 M21? I don't see them on the FMCQ map.
  7. A friend of mine thought Yamaha sleds and marketing are discontinued from Yamaha but motors will still be manufactured for Arctic Cat four stroke lineup. Essentially the only change would be the Yamaha name disappears along with the Bold New Graphics we get every year. Does anyone know this answer?
  8. I have an idea? Ice could purchase a Ski Doo. The absolute best handling sled on the market today. Comes with the best dealer network available. Two Smoke or four Stroke. Pick your poison.

  10. What an adventure that would be. Bucket list sled tour for sure. I wanted to see the start of the Cains Quest iron-man race that leaves from Labrador City and runs roughly 2100 miles. I was thinking of jumping on the train in Sept Isles that runs twice a week Nord and twice Sud up to Labrador City. Its a 8-10 hour train trip. I once called (10 years ago) of the QNS&L railway to ask about bringing sleds in a freight car. The language barrier was a problem. I made no progress. Maybe one of you French speaking salesmen could find out the cost to rent out an entire rail car and we could organize a large group. Google QNS&L. Lots of reading. One of the sites says you could load your car and bring if with you. ---Mac---
  11. We are looking to plan the season ender as well. Valdor to the west has the least snow. The Valins and around Lac st Jean look skinny. And above the Saguenay river looks like they dont have much. New Bruns and Gaspe look like the clear winners. Im hopefull for a small bag trip from La Cabanon and north that might have less traffic this time of year. Meekoos, 100 Lacs and that area. ---mac---
  12. We are planning another Gaspe tour late in January. I personally like to wing it and run like outlaws. This years larger group may not allow for this. Does anyone have a list of the very finest hotels? It does not appear that there is anything interior other than the Copper.
  13. Thanks for the replies. I knew you guys would have answers. Looks like Maine is his best option.
  14. Asking for a friend of course. I have friend who has heard the Quebec riding stories and i tease him badly every year with pictures. He has ridden in the Adirondack's years ago prior to his ten year third offense DUI. The ten year expires July next year. He has expressed interest for this upcoming season and i told him i would ask the group here on QR. Is this possible and what requirements are needed? Please share your experiences.
  15. After looking at the FMCQ interactive map you will notice three kinds of trails. Trans, regional & local. All the trans and regionals are numbered. Local yellow trails have no numbers on the map. I was in the Gaspe last April. Everything is trail marked to perfection.
  16. Laying pipe and taking pipe. Both very different. Just saying.
  17. works for me perfectly.
  18. This loop around the Chic-Choc mountains and Gaspesie National Park is my all time favorite quebec trip.
  19. The best riding looks like Gaspe.
  20. I just came in from the Gaspe 24-28. Still has 3-5 feet of snow. Looked for for the Iceman Yamaha with red stuffed animal everywhere. No such luck. We are planning an April fools trip thru Chic Choc's April 8-11th. Fools only. For anyone who still needs a season ender the Gaspe will most likely hold another couple of weeks. Ten day weather forecast looks great. Cheers Mac
  21. Ive never paid attention to that FMCQ groomed trail map. I can see clearly at this time of year its essential. I thank you both for the recommendation. It does look like Rivier Du Loup has snow and still grooming.
  22. Our group waited to long to plan this final trip of four days. We are arriving Wednesday 23rd. I'm not sure where to go. We are not saddlebaging. I love the Gaspe and can see they have plenty of snow. The snow depth map looks good in the Quebec city area. The Valins are awesome both are far 12 hours travel for us. Are there any other options where they are still grooming? We were planning Saint Zenon and they are not looking good.
