Used to be a frequent trek circa 80s / early 90s when our group spent ‘vacation week’ at Tall Timber.
Is the picture of the moose and the horse mating still up behind the bar? Haha -

We depend on the generosity and kindness of landowners. Some riders don’t ‘get it’😡

Definitely a bad sign for the sport and a sad day for the company that really put 4-strokes on snow.

Very sad. Condolences to his family.
Remember that these animals are everywhere so be alert, look for tracks, slow down! -

The covered bridge in St. Georges has been closed awhile. Maybe 5yrs (?) Way back before it was repaired and reopened many yrs ago we would take the adjacent highway bridge when the River was open.

Looks like it might have a locked access??

Hi Steve,
It’s still not fixed, drive across the river, it was not the most appealing river crossing I have seen.
I remember it being closed for quite a while (seasons) back in the 90s and you would detour to the right and cross on the auto bridge. It reopened sometime in the early 2000s and closed again in 2017 (?)
Anyone know why it’s closed or what the plan is to reopen it? I know it’s considered ‘Historic’ so I’m sure it’s complicated.but it’s sad to see it unrepaired.

I’ve built a few performance sleds and many custom heat exchangers, get the hoses off both sides of the sled up front and put a hose on one side and see if the tunnel flows, fast easy and simple to eliminate.hopefully by now somebody has taken the radiator cap off and verified no exhaust or compression leaking into the cooling system superheating the coolant. Has someone put a pressure tester on the cold engine to see if a crack is opening up under temperature and overpressurizing the cooling system and filling it with air causing a system to overcome the limit of the pressure cap and pumping it out on the ground… I’m with Alain on this one… I would really question how the water pump was tested… if they plastic drone gear in the block is damaged or an impellers is loose… something crazy here… I had a friend put coolant in and he dropped the aluminum seal from the container into the reservoir causing a restriction… that’s outside the box… I don’t want to say anything negative about any repairer…. But this is nuts and bolts… I’ve done this for nearly 50 years… and I never give up on a customer… hasn’t been looked at by the right guy
Excellent points Bob. I had suggested the thermal gun because it is quick and easy - and I would expect the dealer would do this after the parts replacements didn’t solve it but who knows.
No mention of coolant showing up anywhere externally so I’m betting on someone overlooking water pump function or a restriction in the cooling system. -

Chris - an overheat situation with a known good thermostat, water pump, sensor, and good coolant levels kinda leaves only the piping and the heat exchanger. Kinda surprised the dealer wasn’t able to cure this for you.
I would suggest a thermal imaging gun to check temps at different points in the system with it running. Just my opinion - -

Great reporting Tom. Looks like everything aligned for you guys. I’ll have to check in with you when you get back for your thoughts on the Sidewinder.

Mike rider nailed it. When we came off the logging roads the groomed trail just spilled out on what looked like a township road. I suspect it was not township because my ticket says " operate without landowner permission". Do they write tickets on behalf of the land owner logging companies???
Fighting tickets long distance is not easy and not doable unless you live within reasonable distance Financially makes no sense for me.
I'm just venting and dreaming about my new smarter than me....... smart shox i just snow checked. Ice say maybe no more Quebec. There is no worse punishment.

Sorry for your misfortune
In NH, operation of a snowmobile (or any OHRV) anywhere off of the established trail will result in a ticket for “operation without written landowner permission” results in the $248.00 fine. I believe it was increased for the 2019/2020 season from about $100it wasn’t stated what trail number or the location where this was but I’m guessing a logging operation either expanded or moved onto the existing trail and someone missed the posting - either on the club’s or nhsa site (?) Most of Pittsburg’s trails exist on paper company land and logging operations take precedence.
