  1. But Bobblehead said they were going to be prudent with their finances.
  2. Can you explain what that means?
  3. Exactly what I thought when I saw the picture.
  4. I get off the sled and release them by hand.
  5. I had a set of Rouski's on 2 different sleds over 7 years and never had to replace the springs. That said, I drilled small holes in the spring case one size bigger than a lubricant spray can straw and then soaked the spring & chamber each spring and fall. Still do that on my sled.
  6. I completely agree with you. If they opened the trails without completing their due dilligence they leave the club, the Federation and possibly themselves open to lawsuits.
  7. I remember reading a year or more ago about someone else with the upside down shocks on a new sled. If I remember correctly when he contacted the dealership they told him to bring it in and they would correct the issue. I remember thinking at the time that it was a pretty shabby miss on the PDI.
  8. Powerwashing the axle(s) in the spring and a spraybomb of rustproofing on them after they are dry prevents a lot of the issues.
  9. Certainly for the yellow trails but red means closed. I understand it's $745.00 if you are stopped by police on a red trail in Quebec.
  10. Not sure on Quebec's system but in Ontario it is the individual club who decides what colour their trails will be on the online map. It can leave room for different views about what colour shows up for all the clubs.
  11. I think that I would have ridden to St. Raymond or as far as I could on open trails then find a ride unless it was an emergency situation. JMHO. One time we had to do that, we went into the local pub and asked the bartender if he knew anyone with a Suburban like vehicle and 4 bed trailer that could take us. Our ride walked up to our table about 40 minutes later. Price seemed very reasonable at the time. Another time my buddies engine blew just outside Hearst, Ont. We pulled it towed it into the dealer who quickly diagnosed that he wouldn't be riding it back to North Bay (530 sled miles). The dealer gave my buddy a ride to the local Truck Stop and the second driver coming out that he asked gave him a ride to within 500 feet of our truck.
  12. First pic looks like 307. Love the top 1/2 of that trail!
  13. Can you imagine the liability if something bad occured on that brown trail. Those sections really shouldn't be open. I know a group of 12 guys that are supposed to leave tomorrow for a 12 hour drive and week of riding in Gaspe. While trying to decide whether to cancel or not they look at Imotoneige and see open trails but can't see what the reality is some areas (unless they are QR's of course). Like everyone else, they don't want to cancel a chance to ride Gaspe.
  14. I'm pretty certain that the affected businesses and many of the public especially in small and remote areas already know the value of snowmobilers to their business. The impact may not always be positive as there are many "entitled" sledders out there. Although they are the minority the results of their actions are felt and remembered more than the majoritys actions. I can tell you from more than 30 years of club and trail work experience that reroutes and trail closures are not something the clubs want to do (just more work for volunteers to do) but are a necessity based on circumstances. JMHO
  15. The parking area across from the Canadienne Motel at the corner of Kipawa and Hwy. 101 has always been a safe place for my friends that often park there for multi day trips. I have asked SSR (above post) who you have to pay to park there.
  16. Who/where do you pay for parking?
  17. There used to be parking in Temiscaming available at the Esso station a block up from the bridge. They have a big yard. Not sure if they still allow parking but it might provide a possibility if you cant park at the Temrose. There was also a big parking area at the corner of Kipawa (the main drag) and Hwy. 101. It still shows on Google Streetview Maps but I'm not sure what date that's from.
  18. Green but if you click on the 3 yellow triangles, they say it is closed as of 8AM today.
  19. The online map shows the closure as being on the "trail" down to the ferry and only being 100 meters long (330 feet). You could very likely ride the road past it.
  20. I don't think so. The angle the groomer is at compared to the car I don't think a reflection from both back up light lenses would look so similar. JMHO
  21. Does anyone have boots on the ground current info. on Gaspe and the trail closures? I have a friend and his group slotted to start a trip next Monday and they want to make a decision on whether to cancel or not. I told him they would likely need to drive to at least Mont Joli to start the trip
  22. This may help: https://www.mauricietourism.com/member/domaine-lombre-du-vent/
  23. The driver has the car in reverse while the tow cable is being hooked up. Even if it is stuck, that says a lot about the driver's mentality.
  24. Approx. 61/2" of total snow forecast for Mont Joli over the next 14 days after the soon forcasted rain. That is if you can believe the Weather Network.
