Trail permit types and prices
The price of a trail permit includes the cost of the liability insurance, defined as mandatory under article 19 of the Act respecting off-highway vehicles, as well as all applicable taxes.
 
$ 440 for an annual trail permit purchased on or before December 9, 2023
$ 530 for an annual trail permit purchased after December 9, 2023
$ 900 for an annual trail permit sold in trail*
$ 400 for an annual trail permit for antique snowmobiles (2003 and older)
$ 285 for a 7-day trail permit
$ 185 for a 3-day trail permit
$ 95 for a 1-day trail permit
$ 650 for an annual trail permit for a rental snowmobile
$ 40 for a replacement trail permit

Announced yesterday will be closing. 
 

Was around Gaspie Bay over the last few days doing summer tourists things and went through 299 road and stopped at LaCache and there is a large 2 storey addition on back of the building and a large one storey off of one side where the old accommodations used to be,it’s attached to main building .It’s just framed and boarded in .Sorry but no pics.Hopefully they’ll have new space ready for up coming winter.There’s also a new distillery in cap chat right beside the petro can .Lots of quality gins .

Many of us thought Artic Cat might be the one to leave.

My moving average was an all time high, I would say 25mph moving average is the norm. The numbers are a little misleading because that area uses a lot of high quality logging road.  You can definitely cover way more ground on a sled.  We were surprised by how little traffic we met, a fraction of what the sled traffic is.  The game warden was sitting at the intersection of 360 & M20.  Yes the dust is serious.  I am fortunate because I am the trip coordinator and know what way we are headed so I get to lead.  The dust levels depend on moisture and soil type. (stone vs sand, morning vs afternoon) The trick is to let one personal go, wait a minute or two, then follow.  If you want to see tail lights at all times, then you will be filthy by days end.  No doubt about it.  

For you quad and sxs folks. Enduro bikes too.

Just an FYI, if you are trying to book a room for a winter ride, I booked rooms in late October 1998. When we got there the following February on our trip, my buddy went in to register us and the owner got him to come back out and get me. He wanted to shake my hand because he said no one had ever booked sled trip rooms that early in the fall prior.   LOL

On behalf of the Québec Hill and Gully Riders, I wish all of our American friends a Very Happy Fourth of July!  It seems like only a few short months ago since I posted a similar message but ... there you go!  

Have never carried gas before last winter.  No choice, we were running the stretch you mentioned between Chibugamau and La Dore with the sawmill closed.  I bungy corded two 5L gas cans to the running boards, one on each side.  I don't like hauling gas but if you want to do that trail you have to or have a buddy with a big can.  I have always liked the Northern Loop, my sled buddies both said it was boring.  That said, the 373 north of the river is a spectacular trail too.  

I think I will go BRP.

What do you after buying a new side by side??  Go for a ride in the Gaspesie of course.  I have never ridden the ATV trails in the Gaspe before and figured it could be as good as snowmobiling.  The Girlfriend and I decided to do a quick 4 day tour just to judge travel times and distances before planning a bigger trip.  We started in Amqui and rode to Grande Nature the first night.  We soon discovered it is easy to cover ground and travel speeds were faster then I expected.  The second night we rode to Mont Louis and stayed at L'Marre, an excellent spot with and outside patio bar with a view of the St Lawrence.  Third night back to Grande Nature, then back to the truck.  Here are a few pictures of our adventure, many will look familiar.  Likely only 1/3 of the trip was on sled trails, the rest all new country.
Some of the pictures did not load right, but you get the jist of it.  I don't think we would have been able to make the trip 2 weeks sooner, would have been too much snow.

Ok digging around some more it seems the bridge needed to reopen this section “officially” (as people were passingon it this year anyway it was just not fully groomed) will be completed this summer. To reopen next season is the plan.

- The ability to save my planned routes for future reference. 
- Would be nice if it'd do turn by turn navigation like Google maps for people that miunt their phones while riding. 
- Snow depth layer never seems to be 100% accurate.  Wonder if they can get the data from the NOHRSC data set which seems to be more accurate.  -
- More emphasis on the clubs to update trail conditions on a regular basis.  The groomer tracking is awesome, but seems clubs don't always keep their status up to date.
- When a trail is closed don't show groomer tracking.  That said the second the trail is listed open show the groomer tracking all the time.  There was delays this season where groomers weren't displayed for weeks on end after things were underway.  Understand clubs wanting to hide what they're up to until they have a usable product to offer.  But we need the tracking as soon as trails open. 
- Having two seperate ways that closed trails are shown is confusing.  If it's closed it should be consistent regardless of what screen you're looking at (trail conditions or groomer delay)
- have a new colour (maybe pink) to let clubs identify trails issues and highlight the effected area (logging, major groomer breakdowns, etc.)
- make sure improvements don't hinder the apps performance 
All of this is suggestions, but it's really just nit picking.  It's already the best app on the snow hands down.

There are gas stations along the trail that don't show up on the app. I understand that a station likely has to pay to be there but it would be nice for planning
The app tends to route you the shortest way, sometime we want to go the longer route. Maybe a button to turn off shortest route.
