Are there other states like NY that offer "enhanced" driver's licenses, that are accepted at the border instead of passports?
Whichever solution's best, maybe they'd be more lenient if you flashed a printout of an online application?

Yes St-Michel des saints started tonight and the Mattawin snowmobile club from Mauricie had did the first pass on the #360 from Marineau auberge toward St-Michel des saints yesterday and will groom the #360 toward St-Joseph de Mékinac tomorrow 19 dec. Their facebook page is not very active but you can follow what I mentioned on the Marineau auberge website, section trail conditions (sorry no english): https://www.hotelsmarineau.com/sentiers-motoneige/conditions-pistes?fbclid=IwAR1KlR6dLrB3pD5hWCcW5lEOlXHECTn5mToTTUyDEW2_64s7xP5ON7BEzDk
Some others souther snowmobile clubs like St-Gabriel de Brandon have mentioned having begin to work on the trails but ask to not ride yet as their trails are not ready/safe.
I seen some ride reports in Cabanon area that are nice. I expect very beginning conditions... but it begin at least!

It is surely looks more promising than a week ago. With the small crusty base they already have I'm pretty sure they will begin to groom at least some forest road sections like the Mastigouche wildlife reserve trails. Both the Royaume snowmobile club and St-Michel club wrote they are ready and just waiting for mother nature cooperation. The amount of snow received and the weather degrees will determine how far they will be able to go... need snow+cold.  my 2 cents

Fifty additional rooms at the Gaspésiana in 2023
The JGS Group plans to add 48 rooms to the Le Gaspésiana hotel in Sainte-Flavie. This is an investment of nearly eight million dollars that will create about 20 jobs. The project involves the construction of a three-storey building attached to the current hotel and a swimming pool in the front yard. The other rooms of the Gaspésiana also need to be renovated. The hotel will have nearly a hundred units when the work is completed.
This project will partly be carried out in the spring. A phase could also take place in the fall so as not to harm the summer tourist clientele. It is a great project that is coming in the context where we want to increase the accommodation capacity in the tourist sector, which is limited, as we know, in the Rimouski region, indicates one of the shareholders of the Group. JGS, Jean-Francois Fortin.
Jean-Guy Sylvain, who submitted the project, received all the necessary authorizations this summer from the Municipality, indicates municipal councilor Agathe Lévesque. For the rest of us, it's a plus in terms of the finances of Sainte-Flavie. [...] Then in more, that will be more modern spaces, she says. A public consultation was conducted in August and no citizen came forward against the project. Jean-François Fortin, who is also mayor of Sainte-Flavie, was not yet a shareholder of Groupe JGS when the public consultations were conducted. Delivery of the project is scheduled for the end of 2023.

mccaffrey reacted to iceman in Trail Changes 93 near Valinouet
The Trans-Québec 93 snowmobile trail will no longer pass through the Valinouët site in Saint-David-de-Falardeau. A big change that will significantly reduce traffic at the ski center. “It had become the Wild West with the alpine center and all the chalets. And before an accident happens, we thought about everyone's safety," explains the president of the Club de motoneigistes Caribou-Conscrits, Julien Tremblay.
He points out that the path has been diverted by about a kilometer. “It also changes the crossing of Chemin Lévesque which was not safe in a curve. It happened a few times a season that we were close to an accident and when it snowed, it accumulated a lot. We had to go and clear the snow very often,” he continues. Julien Tremblay assures that a passage will be built between the main trail and the site so that snowmobilers can go to restaurants, the convenience store and the gas station. But the discussions hang, we are told, between the companies in the sector and the association of snowmobilers. " It's simple. It would cost about $18,000 to make a nice pass. I don't think it's up to the club to pay that bill. It is also up to the restaurateurs and merchants who will benefit from it, ”answers Mr. Tremblay frankly. The Trans-Québec will therefore pass further south, via the Hydro-Québec power line. The Caribou-Conscrits club has obtained authorization from the Ministries of Transport and Natural Resources to do so.
We also think we are better able to control those who come to snowmobile off-trail and who do not pay the dues to use the roads to get there. It will be easier to check access rights, ”believes the president of the association. It's not just this sector that has people talking a few weeks before the start of the season. Snowmobilers have lost their right of way at Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, for trail 328. With the help of the MRC du Fjord-du-Saguenay, they managed to find a detour, but they are waiting to receive adequate funding before developing it properly. “It will cost us between $50 and $80,000 in rights of way this year, specifies the president. With the price of fuel which is $1 per liter more than last winter, the bill will rise quickly. » A quick calculation shows that the use and repairs of machinery cost approximately $350,000 per season. The conversation turns to the funding of snowmobile groups. The president of the Caribou-Conscrit club believes that it will have to be reviewed, among other things, because the Valin mountains are an increasingly popular destination for tourists. “We sell 3,900 annual cards and 4,200 daily passes. Except that the gang of friends who come from Repentigny and who arrive here, they don't give us anything because they paid for their card in their club. So the federation has 113,000 members who can come here, do whatever they want and leave. We now have far too many people on our trails for our real capacity, ”he laments. He adds that more than half of his annual budget is donated to the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec. “We have the same remuneration as clubs in southern Quebec who have 100 km to maintain for five weeks. Here, we have 800 km and a longer season. » He would also like support from the tourism industry, both moral and financial.

Update no surfacing at all on M-20 or M-21 this year.
📢📢📢📢LATEST NEWS DATED NOVEMBER 4, 2022 regarding forestry operations for winter 2022-2023 (information on M20 and M21 at the bottom) ✅ During the first emails on March 11, forest operations were to be done (opening of the road) up to KM 100 of road #33 of the straw hat ZEC. The cutting plan has changed. The winter work for the foresters will be carried out at the furthest point at KM 56 of road # 3 and they will also be on road # 32 for about 8 to 10 km. For those who want to know which roads will be surfaced this winter for snowmobiling, the departure will be from the Mattawin bridge for the 360 West towards St-Zénon, that is to say the snowmobile bypass road that leads to KM 9. The trail will pass through the St-Maurice reserve to arrive at KM 28 of the ZEC and then follow road # 4 to reach the Manawan Club at KM 56 of road # 4. ✅Club Manawan will surface as usual on route # 5 of the ZEC, i.e. # 345 by snowmobile. 📢📢📢📢FOR WINTER 2022-2023,
DUE TO FORESTRY OPERATIONS, The Mattawin Snowmobile Club WILL NOT SURFACE THE M20 AND M21 TRAILS. FOR ANY QUESTIONS RELATED TO PARKING ON OPEN ROADS, PLEASE ask questions to the forestry companies that will be there this winter AND NOT to the Mattawin Snowmobile Club. This matter is NOT within our purview.

    Latest on this...
Work in progress to allow the TQ-3 to bypass Pessamit
Snowmobilers fear a new traffic ban this winter on the section of Trans-Québec 3 (TQ-3) that crosses the territory of Pessamit. The clearing of a future bypass trail began in mid-October. The trail must allow snowmobilers to no longer have to use a towing service. However, the region's snowmobile clubs and the contractor who won the contract believe that it is unlikely that the work will be completed in time for the next season.
Authorizations from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests were granted at the beginning of October and the work is estimated to last 12 to 14 weeks, according to the director of trails for the Bolides de Ragueneau club, Yves Savard. . “The start of the work is great news because we have been waiting for a long time. » — A quote from Yves Savard, director of trails for the Bolides de Ragueneau club Administrative delays meant that it started later than we had hoped. But at least we are in the right direction. The contractor is a competent person who knows what they are doing. They will do their best to complete the work on time, but if it is not possible, it is unfortunate, but we will have to live with that, he explains.
    Return of towing service?
In the last two years, the community of Pessamit has banned the circulation of snowmobilers on the segment of the Trans-Québec 3 that crosses its territory. Snowmobilers had to use road towing services to continue their journey on the TQ-3.
Jeff St-Gelais, sales consultant at the Baie-Comeau Motosports store, hopes that snowmobilers will be able to cross the territory without having to use a towing service.
We would like the bypass to be functional, says Jeff St-Gelais. It also underlines the tourist attraction that this sport represents in winter.
Regarding the coming winter, the Innu Council of Pessamit mentions that it has not made a decision. He indicates that discussions are still underway to determine if the TQ-3 in Pessamit will be accessible to non-Aboriginals this year.
For its part, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests of Quebec confirms that a permit was granted on October 4, and that this intervention permit is an authorization to build, improve or close a multi-use road. However, the department adds that the request for use of public land filed by Club Manic Quad for the ATV trail is still being analyze
