  1. God willing this will be the year I finally get through this section. Wondering for those that have done this run if there are any places to stay that one would recommend over another as well as restaurants. Also any stops of interest to take in? I expect we will take the ferry from Matane and will take both ferry routes between the going and coming for this trip. Thanks in advance Mike
  2. Good for you Mike Enjoy it. life is short
  3. any word of what clubs may need more support than others this year? I often buy 2 and split them with Parent and one from Gaspe
  4. Thanks weekends has a 2 night minimum. That’s why I’m looking at booking now. Crazy to think as it’s September. Not worried about cancelling. There’s lots of snow in Feb. Like others I’ve passed through for lunch and now buddies want to stay a night.
  5. Looking to stay this winter. Can’t find any pictures or additional information on size. Says 2 queen beds but also another bit with Murphy beds. What I want to know is for 3 men do we need 2 cabins or will 1 work for each with a bed or cot Thanks
  6. I'm just hoping for an improved menu and maybe take out some of the rustic charm. Otherwise I love the place!
  7. They do have a large open parking area. I have seen rigs there in the winter but no idea if its an extra cost. I've only once gone in off season and frankly it was a crappy road ride. I would leave from Quebec City or other off the highway and make this a stop by sled.
  8. Seen this with Travelzoo yesterday. I can't remember what the past snowmobilers rates were but includes some extras. https://www.travelzoo.com/ca/hotel-booking/hotel/5728/fairmont-le-manoir-richelieu/?=&pageId=b2534ce4-e3e9-4c65-b06b-0d322b512a85 Now have to decide when to go or maybe have a QR meet up
  9. Just curious if you seen what the average rates are for this winter? Hoping they are not all crazy high like I've seen this summer elsewhere.
  10. Having not ridden this area yet but expect this winter what will this do for us?
  11. Wow, that's a lot more in Canadian Crazy
  12. I hadn't noticed this helmet earlier Watched the video and seems similar in some ways to the O2 Will like to see what others may know as well https://www.google.com/search?q=brp+advex&oq=brp+advex&aqs=chrome..69i57.353817194j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:10dcbd59,vid:Et0_EVBO7rc
  13. Nice ride Did you see or notice any of the effects from the fires in your route?
  14. The Club has insurance and right or not who ever has the insurance ends up paying for these. Can't imagine this stump being in the trail either. If it was then ok the club screwed up and should pay. All to say its sad to hear these stories regardless of who's at fault. My biggest fear when riding is an animal jumping on the trail, that and the crazies coming around the next corner. I started wearing a Tek Vest for some little peace of mind. No snow in the forecast this week for sure
  15. I would like to see more purple in the mornings 🙂 In seriousness maybe if the groomers are on the trails this can be shown by a little sports car or similar so we know Thanks
  16. Older picture, took while riding
  17. It was nice that the groomer pulled over so you could pass
  18. Looking at all these other late season reports lately motivated me to call in sick and head out. Trailered up to the no-tell - motel in Ste Anne du lac Tuesday night. I think we were the only ones there. At Breakfast yesterday morning they said the past weekend was packed in town with rigs. Well I know why. It was all purple in the last 2 days. We finally got out about 9:30 and west north. For most of the way up we were first tracks after 20 mile out after we passed a group of 5. First stop was Fer Cheval. Put a few litres in to be safe and went in for a coffee. No food or rooms anymore this winter. Off we go to the wild Town of Parent for lunch. Our lucky? day as the Central was open. apparently its just from Wednesdays on in the week. Not sure if this is seasonal or not. Enjoyed our stay but time to head back to the truck. Wanted to take the scenic route by 100 Lacs or Notawissi but my buddy was pukking a few times on the way up trip so i thought best to go back on the quicker route. There is the road section of about 6 miles that had snow on it. Apparently with half loads they are not working at the moment. Late in the day we got significant wet snow squalls as we hoped on the water where the Barrage Mitchinamecus. Thank goodness for little red pickets here and on the lake as visibility was limited. Overall a great day with 227 miles showing for me. My friend not as great but if you're going to be sick better riding than at home. Few pic's of the day. Is it the last run, hard to say. Still mid winter conditions up there and more snow coming Saturday. Stay tuned. http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/1.thumb.jpg.1a4acda7d1129cf87f2e65eb1d94f044.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/2.thumb.jpg.b83048f0d78eddb989f7c94dcb744f5f.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/3.thumb.jpg.2a5c5d2a0e3b1e2e84c350b6aa51adde.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/4.thumb.jpg.ea791c8df25e9f97a945e78fff86052b.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/5.thumb.jpg.1b21138861abbbe40fc8dd7906858ca8.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_03/6.jpg.ceccd5489e6b1d3878369d80c6a9c407.jpg
  19. Wanted to enjoy Fed Cheval as well tomorrow night but apparently now just open for gas 😩 100 lac it is. Hopefully it shows purple tomorrow morning going to do a short run in the area as well enjoyed your report thanks
  20. That's a great ride, wow Not sure if this can be pinned at the top of the forum as there's lots of great info here. Thanks for the ride
  21. Too bad about Patrick & Julie. I was going to make a point to stop there next winter. Maybe see if they will bring their food truck down to RDL. They will a large following for business. Just sayin Thanks
  22. Watching this it sounds like you have to get off the sled and release them
  23. Thanks for finding this. I hadn’t asked mr google yet looks like a nice ride
  24. We stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago. The mature waitress was great. She said when Covid came all the big city folk sold their expensive houses and came and bought up but was available since they were all now working from home. She said there’s no houses or rooms available for new people. Apparently they will start building new homes this year and maybe in time will help. But the mine is also supposed to reopen again since prices are up. Can’t remember if it’s this or next year. All to say it’s not the destination for sledders it use to be. He hasn’t added or changed anything in the museum either. Had to spend $10 to find that out. 😡 Always something or an adventure as some will say
