  1. I would take the extra 2 days and do the full loop. Or do a crazy ride like us and we left Louvicourt and rode to Relais 22 the first day. 2nd day we didn't quite go to Roberval but La Dore and then headed up for out 2nd night in Chibougamou and then day 3 an easy ride back down. Either way are great trails.
  2. I did see some other purple earlier this week. Not sure if it was just moving equipment or not and this was the 93 & 83 up north All to say I would think it won't be long now
  3. Wow Is he the only option in town? I was thinking of sucking it up and doing it this winter but that's getting a little pricey - greedy Might just do the ferry over and do the eastern section for now, assuming the Titanic is still operating these days
  4. Thanks as well Looks like if we ride around the towns we can afford the gas. Hoping it comes down a bit in the other areas. I know locally it has been dropping. I hate doing this but riding 250 mile days at $2.25 litre average is about $200 a day. 😲 Appears now the room & food are the cheap part of the ride and we haven't even touched on the clubs at night!
  5. I was hoping to see something more attractive but ya its ok
  6. When I was at the snow show in Toronto they indicated Forestry and Indigenous issues for the closures
  7. Was asking for a friend, Good to hear & thanks
  8. I think there was talk of the police giving tickets on the trails and these now would impact your license-points at least for those areas that have agreements with Quebec. Seen on Face book articles that I can't read since I don't do French that appear to have been suggesting this based on the pictures. Anyone seen or heard an update on this? Thanks
  9. Agree great trail. When we rode it there was a spot that dropped off sharply. That was an oh shit moment when you were moving. Next time we came through there was a large warning sign. Likely as the earlier ride there were sled parts along the bottom section.
  10. Ice Is the snow sticking around or melted? Just wondering As ours has melted. Thanks
  11. So I did that route when I saw that post and received by refund yesterday. Because it was not in the immediate 10 day time frame I received $35.61 back on the insurance
  12. I ended up buying mine at full price as well. Not sure if you noticed the $23? dollar fee they were charging for this. In the end the savings was peanuts. Also it would be more helpful if they have a language choice for the video as I don't speak French although I get the gist of it of course.
  13. I though you were all crazy. I was thinking LSJ and not LSQ and thinking I sure don't want to do that ride with you in a day, lol
  14. The good part to no gas available we found was very light traffic and great trail conditions!
  15. We ran with the Mach up there last year. With the Linq we were fine. That being said we also each grabbed a washer fluid container at the last stop and filled it for extra peace of mine.
  16. According to Bookong.com they are not taking reservations Looking at their website it doesn't appear to be open and no word https://www.hotelmatagami.com/
  17. I'm assuming, we talked grooming and I didn't know of another one and it was in the district booth for them. I have the flyer in my bag of treasures and will dig it out to confirm confirm its them
  18. Was at the Toronto snowmobile show this weekend. There was a few booths from the Quebec Clubs but certainly a lot less vendors & booths in general this year. Stopped at the booth and gentlemen indicated there is a new owner of the Cabano staring in a week. I don't stay there but i think we see many other members here that do so just passing the info along. TOWING may add more to this later as I think this is his area. Also spoke to the Abitibi lady and she says the trail from Domain is still a maybe. Forestry and Indian issues apparently the hot points. While it was not the show of past its a start again of life getting back to normal here. Mike
  19. Disappointing. Any word on how the ferry is holding up these days?
  20. I was on a bike ride last Wednesday and stopped at the Comfort Inn for the night. Place was full. Go figure. I as ked about Jan & Feb. Said there were already many booked dates. Don't delay for plans for sure this winter. She also said there was not likely any snowmobile special this season or at least the one proposed through the restaurant was not really a special.
  21. I think come fall we will all will have adjusted to the new normal. I will help inflation and just bring up my fees to offset all the other increases we are seeing. Its tough for the retired folks for sure and those I feel a little bit bad for. I did comment to by buddy this winter that in the past it was the rooms and food where the costs were but this winter the gas was the high part. Maybe we'll have to start packing lunches and double up in the rooms, ok maybe not that extreme. Still stoked for riding. This past winter was some of the best riding I've had in a while. Trails with the extreme cold held up great. Long summer and this is just something for us to gripe about. Well at least for me.
  22. I made a point to pass through here in March to see what was happening. Not much still. Building is long gone and they have temporary toilets'. Wondering if anyone has any word on when they might be starting to build as its been about 2 years. Thanks
