  1. You can't get anymore plugged in then that.
  2. about the beer, everything is big here.we don t know much have small format !!! just joking !! Ha ha ha ha ha
  3. Wow, nice pics, brings back memories i bet. Back then my pics were in 35mm aswell, i'll try to dig a few up, scan them and post. I love to visit the area with my four wheeler must be really nice in the fall over there. I have a chalet too, it's in the Laurentians and i try to go as often as i can in the fall riding my atv and for just being there, i love the smell of a wood burning stove and the heat it gives off, there's nothing like it, but it's no where as nice as having those mountain caps in the background. I guess the call of the wild is calling out for me that time of year. lol. Off trail riding at Faribault, we did a bit of that with Bertie, he took us to a little town called St.Margerite through some abandoned forest roads, was alot of fun and alot of snow (for us, but for the locals they didn't have much snow that year, ya right the snow was up to my waist when jumping off the sled). We stopped at some little tiny bar, drank some big beers('cause they didn't have any small ones) and went back later that night only to have a few more big beers at Faribault. What is it with you guys and those big beers? Had a great time wanna go back JG
  4. Sorry Groomer i don't remember the guy in the brook, i do remember the guy that was running it back then his name was Bertie, during our stay he found us someone that could lead us up to the summit of Mont Login. We reached the summit the next day by sled, the locals said they didn't have much snow that year and it was due to that that we were able to get to the summit, because the last part where you need to climb to the antenas it was quite steep, if there was alot of snow we wouldn't have been able to reach it. I got pics of a cloud floating by pretty cool.
  5. Ahh ya back in the day, was there in '97 with a group of guys, stayed there for a few days as we arrived when they were having a mechou party and what a party i must say, one of the locals must have pissed off his buddies 'cause when we woke up in the morning his sled was hanging from the moose hanger.lol. What a site. JG
  6. I confirm that Groomer, woke up this morning with the front yard grass covered in snow, all melted now but sure did light a spark for me. Bringgg bringgg aink une vitesse, o font o font, lol.
  7. Well guys the last few days i have heard about this on the news but wasn't sure it was going to go through. Here's the link, basically it transilates into no riding between 10pm and 6am and on weekends we would be aloud to stay out untill 11pm. http://lcn.canoe.ca/lcn/infos/national/archives/2010/09/20100930-073503.html JG
  8. Im sorry to say guys the report will have to wait, my american snowmobile buddys that were to do this trip with me had some last minute work related issues that needed to be taken care of.
  9. You got it right, right on the dam, i tried to get up there back 2003 but for mechanical reasons we made it only to Parent, i'll be taking pics of coarse but can't make any promises for uploading to website, never did it before so i don't know where they'll might end up,lol. Will do my best. JG
  10. I'll be leaving in two weeks with a group of snowmobile buddys doing an atv trip up that way, our destination is Le Barrage Gouin about 90klms north of Parent, i believe it is one of the stops on that trail loop. I'll keep an eye out for the landscape (fire damage) and repost when i get back. Salute JG
  11. Despite the season being cut short due to mother nature it's nice to hear you had a good season Tamarac, i really wished i could have taken a ride up your way this year and try out that new trail you spoke of on one of your earlier posts heading up to Barrage Guoin. I have a new atv now Polaris 8oo touring and have more confidence to ride up your way once more, i will try this summer. Have a good fishing season. JG
  12. Feb13th Mubs and I headed to St Raymond and had great trails. When we got in St Raymond we found out that it was very difficult to find a room! We ended up in rooms that cost $22.46 tax in !!! Andyman I have a buddy that would like to know where is that cheap place to stay at in St.Raymond. So to sum this trip up we had trail conditions that were 10/10 and we also rode on bare ground. The best riding we saw in QC was south of the river and northern Nb west of the sports club. There should be many weeks of good riding in the north of NB once this warm spell is over. So don’t be discouraged by what you see out the window at home there is plenty of good snow to ride you just have to be careful when you pick your route. I had 2614.5 miles when I parked my sled and Mubs had approx 4350km as the 2 odos were out by about 4%. Andy Very nice trip Andy, i sure do wish i had as much time as you do to ride, you one lucky guy. How's the conditions in the Moncton area after that 30cm storm you guys just got?
  13. You're a good rider BOBLER 3 1/2 days is about right for a loop like that , i've done the loop from Ile Perrot in 5 days via Senneterre and returning through Parc des Hors Gorges both ways. My best day i made it to Lac Faillon 680 klms. Was gunning for Senneterre but was dark then and snow was falling heavy that day.
  14. Thanks Tamarac, i'm going to put together a group and give a call.
  15. Oh...i forgot, is the trail groomed and who is responsible for the grooming?
  16. Thanks for the info Tamarac Cool, i would love to try it. How many klms is the loop from Clova to Clova and where can we buy gas up there?
  17. Hi Tamarac Can you tell me more about this new trail going to the Gouin Resevoir, is it a up and return on same trail trail or does it loop around somewhere and where? I have been to Parent in the summer on my atv and heard from the locals about one of the Resevoirs dams on the road leading out of Parent heading towards La Tuque about 100 klms from Parent, does this new trail your talking about comes anywhere near this dam? Curious JG
  18. Hi Andy Sorry i couldn't respond earlier than now, but work got the best of me this week. Monday it rained like a bugger all day, had +11 degrees too, lost all the snow on the lakes and all of our trails withered away. We're waiting for new snow, sure do miss leaving from the back yard now we have to trailer minimum two hours to reach the white gold to ride. Track side down buddy JG
  19. Sounds great...thanks for the update and good luck getting the fuel up and running.
  20. one of his brothers ''bébine '' is a director for the club in amqui and ''ti-hue '' is a mechanic at the cat dealer in amqui.i used to see those guys often ,but since i started grooming back in 00 ,i don t go to often to amqui.only to see my dad. bebine...ti-hue...raisin where do these nick names come from Groomer ,i guess number 1 is not that bad after all. JG
  21. Hi Tamarac I just logged onto your website and fired off a question to you. I particularly enjoyed reading the history of Clova, is the population still at 28 up there? lol. JG
  22. Hi Tamarac I have stayed at the Tamarac many years ago when they were selling gas and had indoor parking for the sleds, i think i am going back to my Polaris XLT days back in the 90's. Since then we have mostly passed through 'cause we're always arriving during mid day in town. Anyways i'd like it if you could update us on one of your colleges up there, Domain de Forsythe, are they packing it in for good or planning to rebuild. What's the word up there? JG
  23. Hi Groomer I have been to this mountain before, many years back when i was in the the Gaspe. I had talked to you about my last visit briefly in one of my other responses. I stayed a few days at a guys house in Amquoi after we met at a Mechoi in Faribou ealier in the season, my last response to you i could not remember their names but now i do, one of the guys had a machine shop called Ateliers d'Usinage Amquoi his name was Gervais and the other guy had a garbage truck company his name was Sylvain, he used to call me #1, still trying to figure that out one out, must be a local thing giving everyone nick names. Sylvain and one of his friends don't remember his name but everybody called him Raisin (gee i wonder why) took us up to Mont Radar (not the real name but the locals call it that) and we went down on the other side where it was steep as hell, i remember we had to get off our sleds and pretty much walk them down the mountain it was that steep, scared the bejesus out've me. We had a blast with these guys riding, partying what ever, they knew how to live life, far from what were used to here in Montreal. It' been too long since my last visit to the Gaspe, i need to get out there and reexplore all those gorgous trails your taking pictures of, gotta put some miles on my new sled, 08 Yammy Apex LTX GT. Keep up the good work Groomer and keep those pics coming loving every one of them, you da man. JG
  24. You have plenty of time Bill, HI to Chibougamau to Senneterre to Parent and back to HI, i predict this will take you 3 1/2 days. I have done the Chibougamau run 5 times leaving from and returning to my house just west of Montreal clockwise and counterclockwise and 4 occasions did it in 7 days and the last time did it in 5. I aswell, suggest to include in your itinerary a tour of Abitabi on your trip, you won't regret it.
