  1. Head up to the County. That is Aroostic County. My recommendation would be the towns of Presque or Caribou. Multiple Restaurants & Hotels to choose from & are either on the trail or have feeder trails to them. Was there 2 weeks ago weather -35 below & table top trails. Very similar to Quebec Trail riding. 2nd day weather was -15 below and rode a 260 mile loop. Planning to return in the beginning of March. Good Luck
  2. Recommend launching out of Blanchet Motel. Connecting Trail to TQ45 at rear of their parking lot. I have done this multiple times without problem. Ken P
  3. Also stayed there & found to be excellent except for not serving breakfast until 8.00 AM. Normally got 40 to 50 miles under our belt by this time.
  4. That Club House would be that of Club Les Aventuriers at the top of the hill at Trail #5 & Trail #85 Junction. A must stop when in RDL. Ken P.

    Squatec

Not much in Squatec but Gas & Food. I would suggest staying in Cabano Motel Royal is one place that comes to mind. Have a good trip. Ken P.
  6. P Hardy that was I & fellow Quebec Rider member that spoke with you at Tourville Jasmine. We also had a great weekend of riding. Day 1 Started from Balmoral in Thedford Mines to Fraser's in Cabano Day 2 rode throughout Bas St Laurent region & back to Pohenegamook. Day 3 back through Chaudiere-Appalaches including du Massif du Sud Park with stops at all of the fine Club House's on trail 55 to Lac Etchemin. Day 4 which was today back to the truck at the Balmoral in Thedford Mines & back home. Only issues were the the plowed road trail riding & any riding between Trail # 5 & the St Laurent River but everything was good. Last trip for the year Ken P
  7. Try Moulin Rouge in St. January right off of RT. 15 slightly northwest of Montreal between St. Teresa & St. Jerome. Good Luck Ken P.
  8. Mark have been riding in Quebec for over 30 years & haven't needed a GPS yet & don't plan on getting one. If your establishment advertizes on the the Snowmobile Map for lodging whats wrong with putting up a few signs at Trail intersections??? Ken P
  9. Been trying to find this place last year & again this past weekend with no luck. Trail #538 seems to dead end in the village of Princeville. Tried all Cul de Sacs off of Trail 538 in & around Princeville & found no signage or passage to Hotel. Last year tried coming in from Plessisville & last weekend coming in from Victoriaville with still no luck finding the place. Its well advertized on the Chaudiere Appalaches/Centre du Quebec Snowmobile Map but lack's any signage on the Snowmobile Trails. Whats up with that? Ken P
  10. Beware of poor signage & staking of Trail # 525 at & around village of Asbestos & Trois Lacs. With combined usage of Snowmobile & VTT Trails, signage & staking of Red & Blue Stakes is very poor in this area especially at night. Been riding in Quebec for over 30 years & found this to be very challeging last weekend trying to locate Motel William in Asbestos. Ended up on Trois Lacs without any stakes or indication of lake was safe to pass. Very disappointed with Asbestos Snowmobile Clubs performance. Has been much better in past years. Ken P
  11. Mike you did not go far enough. The Railbed was detoured for a short distance but the trail returns back on the Railbed to bypass collapsed Railbed Tressel Bridge. Relais 540 is beyond the detour. Happy Riding Ken P
  12. Jim there are 12 to 15 of us in the Broad Brook Snow Seekers Club. We are mostly from East Windsor,South Windsor,Ellington,East Hartford,& Bolton. Most of us have been riding in Quecbec for the past 30 years. We meet every Wed's evening during the season. Get in touch with me after Labor Day & join us us on Wed's Evening & we'll be glad to give you advice on area's to go to & possibility you might want to join us on one or more of our trips. We usely try to ride Quebec at least 4 trips per season. Ken
  13. I have to agree with Dave. Stayed there this past weekend & was not impressed & very pricey for what you get.
  14. Timbo I believe & agree with your thoughtful remarks. I myself also was fortunate to have known Gaetan & Hugette also. Never had the opportunity to lodge at their establishment but have dinned there for lunch many years in a row. In the 80's & early 90's our group of 12 would spend a week at the end of January at the La Glacier in St. Zenon & always would make a point to ride down to St. Donat & have lunch with Gaetan & Hugette. It was one of best meals of the week. They were always very friendly & always enjoyed conveying with both of them & their staff. Will never forget them & La Cul'Da Pot.
