How is Ed's 1200?
-
Did Ed make it to Goose Bay? Any word on his sled?
-
You guys are not pushing the Nh boys to hard are you? Howard tell Kris and Ed Steve says hello Looks like things are going well.

Relais 545/Andre on 35

We should start a new sled fund for Ice Man. Every year he buys one, it snows like hell. Cheap insurance!

Coolest thing I have seen while snowmobiling

I have seen these on the trail also, just outside Sawmill 54. The coolest thing I have ever seen on a sled was last year, a herd of caribou, on the Pelchat trail, just after the school bus. My camera was buried and I could not get a picture. -
I have a 12 Vector. I run Mobil 1 0w-30. Any 0w-30 would work. In a pinch 5w-30 would work, so long as it does not get stupid cold.

I have a 2012 Vector. Two weeks ago we left Shawinigan and rode to Hearst Ontario and back. 2100 miles round trip. I averaged 14 to 15 mpg. My buddy has a 1200 Doo Shorty and usually beats me by a couple of bucks. The 1200 has more pull than the Vector. On the trip the Vector started at minus 28. It did not want to but it did. The Vector is what it is. Rock solid durability and fair fuel mileage. It is tractor tough durable. Not a sled you want to be in more than 12 inches of snow. It does not do any one thing really really well but the some of it's parts make it a pretty good sled to tour Northern Quebec. A 900 Reni may be on order for next year!

This is coming from a Yamaha guy who currently owns a 12 Vector with 10,000 miles on it. I am 47 and have rode in PQ since I was 18. Buy the Skidoo. For trail riding I don't know how you beat a 900 Rene. The Skidoo will get 20 mpg and the Viper maybe, maybe 15. Much easier to carry fuel and luggage on the Skidoo. Way more dealer support with a Skidoo in Quebec. I have a buddy who put 100 miles on a 900 Expedition and loved the sled. I would not look past this sled. The Viper will beat it on top end, but who cares. The Viper is a Cat with Yamaha clutches. I would stay away from it. I like the Vector, Like the Apex, especially the XTX. I would not touch a Viper with a ten foot pole. Just my 2 cents.
-
Ice is that an XTX? The blue looks good. How many miles did the 08 Have on it? People laugh at Yamaha but they will run 20,000 miles. You will love the power steering. With the EX-Up exhaust that thing will pull like a freight train!

Just on the other side of the bridge North of Riviere Mattawin. Trail 369

Is that considered brand bashing? LOL

HIGH HOPES- HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT- LANAUDIERE/LAURENTINES

Hey Benz I am not busting your balls. The point I am trying to make is at least it gives you options. I figure 3 gallons will get me 50 miles. That is enough to get to Repos or down the plowed dirt road to SMDS. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. -

when you ride The northern trails you absolutely need to carry extra fuel. I ride a Vector and carry 3 extra gallons of fuel. If you get to Clova on fumes and the tank is empty you are screwed. -
If you take the local trail from ST Hedwidge to the 373 you should be fine. It is a pretty good trail and it keeps you away from the Roberval.
