GSX800 reacted to iceman in Shawinigan area club updates
Club Armony right next door to me.
Good evening Snowmobilers,
IMPORTANT MESSAGE - PLEASE SHARE
We have beem working to open our trails since yesterday.
Filling in the many ditches, surfacing and then we'll have to install our markers and signage before publishing that our trails are open.
They must be 100% safe.
We're currently working on opening the trail from Trois-Rivières to St-Paulin to connect to St-Alexis des Monts.
There is still some signage to be installed.
Trail #3 to Yamachiche and Louiseville is not open. Rivers and streams are unsafe.
The St-Maurice River linking the St-Étienne des Grès trail to Mont-Carmel IS CLOSED. Water in some places and thin ice.
Be patient, we're all looking forward to it.
Yvon Bergeron, President
Club Motoneige Armony Trois-Rivières Inc.

13 January Relais 22 Milles - Windigo outfitter (section 83 west)
14 January Relais 22 Milles - Lac St-Jean (first 50 kilometres, section 83 east)
Good season
We are ready to welcome you with our fire teams!
This is the information we have at the moment.

GSX800 reacted to snowmaster2112 in TQ93 Chapais to Desmaraisville
I miss being up in that area. Been 3 years now and haven’t been. Long overdue for visiting all my native buddies up there. I think a March run up in that area is in store.

GSX800 reacted to iceman in TQ93 Chapais to Desmaraisville
From Club Motoneige Chapais.
They are trying to check from Chapais before sending machine.
Update TQ93 to Desmaraisville. First of all, a big thank you to Québec Copper & Gold and its workers for their help (and the snowmobiles). Especially André and Felix, thank you! Their help enabled us to build a temporary structure on the site of a culvert that was swept away in the autumn. We were only able to get as far as Dickson Brook. There was also a lot of fresh snow in this area, more than 2 feet deep, which slowed down operations. We'll be back with more updates in the next few days.

GSX800 reacted to iceman in Good and Bad
Yes, snow storm from yesterday has clubs scrambling to satisfy cries to open trails.
I am seeing quite a few places where the ground is not yet frozen. Sure there will be good trail but will be some very bad also. It’s still early. I don’t want to ride first groomed trail of season. In this case I am confident it will be much better in two weeks.
Photo from St Gedeon in Lac St Jean have seen this other places too.

GSX800 reacted to iceman in Not IMPRESSED!!!
Lazy snowy day today about 3” all day. Maybe 4” higher up.
Slept late then had breakfast across the street.
trail leaving hotel better with new snow but by later end of day showing back to snirt but passable still. Word is out you can get to gas so alot more use.
we decided it was a one tank day today. Took a look at 3 east but not enouugh action that way to make it sensible.
Up 3 west to Hydro Quebec station. Then golden from there. Sweet run up to 330 left on 330 down to orange local left and rejoin TQ3 (new trail between 330 and TQ3) nice addition. Then TQ3 is different from last year for a bit then rejoins old trail and back to Relais Bouleaux Blanc. Nice long late lunch, big crowd but not full.
back at hotel 3:30 less than 150km.
we came we scratched the itch. We will regroup and wait for the neige to fall.
until next time.
Shoutout to Playhard for the power to pull the trailer. Merci brother.

GSX800 reacted to doonali in New GPS Unit on the way
I’ve been using a Garmin Tread 8” Overlander for 1.5yrs. Has all the features that I’m interested in, inreach, tracking, SOS, texting, route planning on either trails or forestry roads etc.and many more. Very easy to view.
Was considering the 10” but am more than satisfied with the true 8”. It’s never froze up (always powered in the cradle) and goes inside whenever I’m at.

GSX800 reacted to Trailblazer in Trail 3 complete
With the news of the Pessimite agreement and now the completion of several bridges on the North Shore Sept Isles, Havre St. Pierre and Baie Johan Beetz is now at our grasp.
Below is the translation of the arcticle
🎉 NEW ACHIEVEMENTS 🎉
In the heart of Minganie, one of the largest snowmobile footbridge construction projects in the country is ending, namely the construction of 5 footbridges, 4 of which will serve the FCMQ trail. For almost 2 years, winter and summer, our team has been building footbridges on the Tortue, Aisley, Romaine rivers as well as Lac Cormier.
We would first like to thank the SEIE, Les Constructions Mackenzie as well as the Innu Council of Ekuanitshit of Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan for their trust in our organization. Thank you also to all our subcontractors who participated directly or indirectly in the realization of these projects. Without forgetting, a huge thank you to all our valuable employees who brought these major projects to fruition! 💪
Footbridge over the Tortue River
23 ml long. and with a capacity of 20 t.m, this footbridge should allow the resumption of maintenance of the trail east of Sept-Îles which had been ungroomed for several years due to this missing bridge towards Havre-St-Pierre.
Cormier Lake Footbridge
235' long and with a capacity of 10 t.m, this footbridge is located above the Romaine 1 reservoir at km 19 of the access road to the Romaine complex dam site (trail outside the FCMQ networks)
Footbridge over the Romaine River
Located more or less 12 km west of Havre-St-Pierre, along route 138, two footbridges were necessary to cross the river due to their width as well as the size of the Romaine River.
The Romaine Ouest footbridge is 55 m.l. long. and with a capacity of 10 T.M.
The Romaine Est footbridge is one of the largest cable and suspension snowmobile footbridges of its kind (suspension bridge) in the world, according to our research. With a capacity of 10 t.m., it allows a resurfacer and its equipment to circulate. It has a length of 167 m.l. or 550’.
P.S. For snowmobilers wishing to visit the North Shore and the Lower North Shore in the years to come, check if the trails will really be maintained by local clubs

GSX800 reacted to Mrs.Ice in Summer to winter
Good day everyone!
I've had to break out my snowmobile gear lately wearing it to strike here in Quebec. Yes, I'm a teacher and we'd had a few strikes over the past month.
I also had to put my summer gear away as winter was slowly settling in. Looking forward to the upcoming snowmobile season, already discussing and making plans on possible rides with lover.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this close encounter I had on my paddle board. I've been hoping for this for four years.
