The MTQ is currently performing road enhancement. For the moment, only trucks, vans and trucks manage to pass. There is too much water for cars. The MTQ has set up a towing system for crossing cars, but it is not enough for the task. We ask you to avoid circulating on Route 155 today if possible until the road enhancement work is completed. There is a lot of water on the road and the river continues to rise. The MTQ also monitors other places in the MRC of Mekinac where the river water could go to the road 155. Here is a photo taken this Wednesday, May 18 in the morning at km 98 of Route 155. Rue Bourassa on the R Residents who can not go to downtown Tuque by Bourassa Street must use the PARKER LAKE. To see the map of the detour path, click here. The Forest Road 10 (R0-450) is currently cut off at KM 79, 113, 126 and 134. The road is currently closed by KM 61 (in Relay 22) to Parent. Other sectors are under surveillance. The damage is important, especially at km 126. For the moment we do not know when it is possible to repair. The Forest Road 25 (R0-461) is currently closed between Wemotaci and Parent at km 103. There is a large accumulation of water at km 132.5 which prevents vehicles from circulating. As soon as the water level will lower, the Rébec Forest Business teams will repair the path, but for the moment it is impossible to evaluate how long they can intervene. The forest road 25 is open between the Tuque and Wemotaci. The Forest Road 1 (R0-403) is still closed at km 1 due to a landslide on April 12th. There is a sag on the forest road 23 south at KM 18 in the Goyette outfitter sector. Damage is important. There is a subsidence on Route 13 (R0-451) at km 221 on the Lac-Saint-Jean side near the Opitciwan community, in what regulars calls the beautiful beach path. Here too, the damage is important. We closed two portions of streets in the Parent Village that are flooded. The road between Parent and Mont-Laurier is currently closed. The water passes over the KM 122 bridge. There is a CN freight derailment from Wemotaci and the Fast-Hearts Centrale at KM 64. The CN teams are on the way to analyze the situation. VIA Rail will determine this Thursday, May 19 at the end of the day if passenger transportation may take place or not between the Tuque, Parent and Senneterre Friday. All emergency protocols are in place to intervene in the parent sector to ensure the safety of citizens to overcome that all parent access roads are closed. If you live in parent and you live an emergency, contact 9-1-1 and emergency services will help you. Due to the current situation, we are asking all the resorts not to move to the tuque in the coming days hoping to go to their cottage. The situation is too dangerous right now on forest roads and paths can be cut at any time. Push your movements to the tuque later. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have planned a stay in a outfitter or ZEC, make sure you are able to go there before you move. The situation will probably evolve rapidly over the next few hours and days. We will update the information in this news as often as possible. Certain forks of roads and secondary roads may be as damaged due to floods. Our team is currently gathering all the information, but it is too early to measure the magnitude of the damage. It is useless to communicate with us to find out if your path is correct or not, because we do not yet have the full portrait of the situation. quebec bob
The effects of the second pipe...maybe not washing the road away?? Same logic here in the states...can't approve anything until an engineer makes a few hundred k...probably the governors nephew. jak, dooright and MrGutz

Oh no. Now's the time to do it. Simple argument. Anything that could be harmed in the install is already dead due to the washout. Now's the time to install it while the damage is done. This argument held weight for a new bridge several years ago. Never seen the MNR issue a permit so quickly. quebec bob and jak
GSX800
In the US these days, adding the new pipe would be considered a pipeline. That would be shutdown. Joe has a pen for that. Kidding aside, that is some serious flooding. MrGutz
