It has snowed here most of the night. Hard to tell how much as the wind has kicked up big time. Suppose to snow all day.

Bill

Thanks Bill, seems like the prognosis is much better than just a couple days ago. :good:

ITS A SNOWMOBILE

You are right it is a snowmbile. I am just a little disgruntled as I should have snowmobling this week and not sitting in front of the lap top! Back to real subject here it is cold and it snowed finally and it looks like things may start to return to normal. Hopefully the cold and snow will stay well into March!

«It snowed over night, woke this morning to what must have been 50 mph winds and the sound of plows in the Holiday Inn parking lot. Farmerold, 182Ray and I headed out at 9 30 AM toward Claremont. About 40 miles out stopped for a moment and some sleds stopped and joined us. It was SnowTrails Television from Michigan. They put us on camera and interviewed us, great bunch of guys. Yes, the three of us will be on the Cover of The Rolling Stones!

Approaching Claremont, we decided to go the extra dozen miles to the Castle-Casino and have lunch. WOW, what a place! We had a three course meal that was huge and out of this world for $15.50. This place is grand and huge, you ve got to see it yourself. They don t grow buildings like that in Maine.

As for trail conditions, well, a perfect 10 would be too low a score. Winter has returned. There was up to a foot of new snow in some areas. It was smooth and packed from sled traffic. Trees were white. Fluffy white stuff was blowing all around us. We are right back to where we were before the rain, although I can t speak for all trails, just the ones I were on today for about 250 miles. It was perfection. We met lots of groomers out today also. Had some drifting in fields on the way back, but the drifts were soft.

All of you impatient souls who left when it rained, come back. You erred on the side of impatience.

Mike

Thanks for the trail update, it is really good to hear things are getting back to normal. I am one of the impatient souls that left. But that is just me, I cannot sit in a hotel for a couple of days and just wait for things to happin. I have to be on the go doing something. I have always been that way. Driving home in the truck seemed to be a much better idea than waiting. My vacation is over I go back to work on Monday. Be back in 3 weeks. Please tell 182ray that I said hello, my wife and myself had the oppurtunity to ride with him 1 day last March. Be back soon!

Sounds like your back in business Mikerider. 600 IQHO I am in the same boat as you if someone had told me you will have to sit in the hotel 3 days then it will be good again I would have come home anyway. I can pretty much get off in the winter whenever I want but I do have a business to attend to so I really don't like to be away more than a week at a time. :drinks:

Good job, maybe you can give me some autographed pictures to hand out at the Novi show next year.

Snowtrails TV doesn t air in Maine, so guess our stardom will go unnoticed.

Today Farmerold, 182Ray and I went to St Honore and stopped in at the SkiDoo Dealer, then off to Lac Sabastian and lunch at a place we never had heard of called Du Domaine. We had their all day breakfast and was very good. Exxplored the area a bit, ie got lost for an hour. Did 175 miles. Late start, Farmer s new FST would not start. He had to use his $6000 shift to jump start his $12,000 FST. Great ride, few rough trails but most were nice. Sun and bitter cold.<

Mike, Farmer's not too happy that Saguenay Bill knows of his "jump start." Saguenay Bill was too busy preparing his neophyte sled buddies from Franconia for their first ride. First, it was Don. Then, webmaster Joe "colsmooth" - thanks Bill

Today was almost 300 miles and every inch groomed to perfection. Very cold out. We went around the lake, then did an extra loop around Girardsville. Ate lunch at a new place, new to us, called Relais Club Pacheur outside Girardsvile. Awesome meal and priced cheap. New favorite place, nice building and on a lake. Had dinner at Skippy Doo and back to the HI.

Today farmerold, Ray182, mikerider, DRCoffin, Brandon and I rode 230 miles. The weather report I looked at last night was not what today was. Based on last night i thought we would take in some of the Summits in Mont Valin. Got to the first one on Bras Louis and we were fogged in. -15F and fog at the summit, what up with that. Anyway we had a great ride. Trails were very good in most places, a little chopping in a few. Great day here in PARADISE.
