SMDS up to Windigo today,  various conditions but all pretty decent early season riding . Nice lunch at Camp de  Casey , Norm is no longer there but the new guy Rafael seems a excellent addition.  83 has a reroute east of Wemotaci , passing by a nice lookout over the river and village.  Apparently we're the first overnight guest here at Windigo for this season Martine tells us !

Today,  Windigo to 100 Lacs.

The 83 west of Wamo fresh groom since yesterday.  No logging so its on the big road the whole way Parent

Gouin trail looks perfect.. Thanks Jonny !

Stopped by Central in Parent.. all dark .  Store in town has awesome pre-made sandwiches and hot pizza on a spinner.  Works for us . Trails in and out of town topical Parent,  sno cross .

The 13 from the 83 intersection south moved around a bit again this season but all good .

Yup, another beautiful day. Traffic picking up a bit but we will be long gone by the weekend. Reroutes here and there but generally well marked.  Evidence of all the hard work to get trees cleared and trails opened.

Great report and pics Mark. Hope you guys are having fun. Nice to see all the familiar places. Boy that sure looks like a cozy setup at Camp de Base for three guys...LOL. Wonder what happened to Norman. He was a cool guy. Look forward to meeting Rafael. I'll bet things looked the "same" at Haltaparche when you passed buy....LOL

Raplael said Norm still hangs out in town now and again at his camp. He also told us Casey had 2 year round residents but 1 died last year and the other stopped staying all year.

That place is usually a ghost town in the winter but in the summer it's hopping. All the residence are in town, one summer while atving through it some guy stops us to have a chat, we talked for an hour, told me his life story. I got the impression new people are always welcome there.

Help wanted sign at Central in Parent...another casualty of free hand outs...not complicated there...not like they are working else where that doesn't exist....government pay to stay home...even in Parent...that is what I call far reaching...so people stay home and drink Budweiser all day...and the folks that ran their asses off as owners of the only social spot in town ...are closed...very very sad....at least there it is a few different factors....but closed with no help....WTF....it's a great opportunity for a family willing to work....but it seems right now...you better not count on help called employees

If budgets allowed it Trudope would pay people a min. income to stay @ home!

Back in the late 80's early 90's we had a group that went fishing in out post lakes north of Parent.  I remember flying over Parent and seeing acres and acres of timber piled up in Parent. Only reason I know it was Parent was because the pilot told me. I don't know if that still happens now but it must of been really busy back then.
