182 Ray and I arrived at the Hotel Saguenay, formerly the Holiday Inn, at 1215PM today. I will be referring to the Hotel Saguenay as the HS from now on. Just as we were pulling in Farmerold and Tammi had also just pulled in. Time we ate lunch, shot the bull, unloaded luggage, and sleds it was 4PM. We will ride tomorrow but things look very rideable from what we could see from the road. Tomorrow will tell the story. Ran into 2 guys who were loading up to go back to NH and they said the riding was great.

Hi Bill, Ray and Dave. Glad you all made it safely. Wish I was there with you. Have some good riding for me! Also a beer and wine.

Tell Dave I need a complete report on the new Rush: small bumps, tippiness, comfort, MPG etc. Same for Ray on the Doo.

They can PM me if the wish. Will probably be at Riviere til Monday or so.

Farmerold, Tammi, 182 Ray and I rode 200 miles today. 90% of trails were very good. 367 from St Ambroise to the 2 bridges was terrible. Pipeline, 383 has been closed, don't know why but will find out tomorrow. Any trail north of the Saguenay river is very good. lots of snow. Suppose to get 5-10" tonight/tomorrow. Snowing now.

This will probably be my last report from the Saguenay until 1/25 as we are leaving for the Gatherin tomorrow morning early and packing up sleds tonight. To those who are going to the Winter Gatherin, see you next Friday, God willing.

Ride safe my friend and I will see you next Friday afternoon.

John's unfortunately not on this trip. He's coming up in February with us. Only one new sled, not mine, a 2011 ApexSE with power steering.

Any new snow?

Just arrived tonight from Connecticut at the old HI. Roads were terrible from the border on. Took 11 hours however it is snowing and very windy. Probably at least 5 inches and a high temperature tomorrow of -9f and a low tomorrow night of -23f. Can't wait.

Buttpaste boys Kit, Mark and Brian left the HS today and headed east on 83 to 368 back all the way to 23. From there headed north to 83 and back to HS. I've got to say I'm glad it snowed last night. The trails ranged from a 5 to a 9. 23 north from 368 hadn't been groomed in at least 3 days. With the snow last night a fair amount of the trail was a little more than single track. It will be good when groomed. 83 back to Lac Kenogami was good but worsened. I felt like I was in whoopford Vermont from about 20 miles from the hotel. It was cold today, high of about -8f but thankfully the wind wasn't as strong as predicted.

How bad was 368.....wasn't sure if that was open or not?

Team Buttpaste headed out today and headed west with intention of hitting the truck stop in St Ludger du Milot. As Bill mentiioned the 383 power line is not open. 383 is rerouted and comes back on the power line close to Larouche. If you take a right the sign says cul de sac but you can head that way on the power line and head left to cross the river. It's 34 miles now from HS to the river crossing in St. Charles. We hit 93 up the local trail to 328 west and then 367 back to 93 up to Milot. After lunch we hit the local trail over to Scoobyraid and somewhat back the same way. Left at 9, in at 4:30 220 miles. It's Bud Light time.

Team Buttpaste on Monday left for the Casino down the Clermont Express. Once down 83 we turned up 3 north to St. Simeon for some gas and food. As expected 83 out of HS is rough in spots until you get down toward La Baie. 83 from there to 3 was flat and fast. 3 North was groomed. From St. Simeon we headed south on the powerline, local trail 94. We proceeded down 378 south and did some hot dogging on the powerline in a few feet of snow. There has been a change of trail where 377 used to go north to get to 3. There is no signage for 377 on the trail. You do come out on the powerline and have to turn back a little to the right. About 3 miles in there was a sign that let you know you were on 377. We then took a right on 3 back up to local 54 and headed down to the casino. Trails were very good and 240 miles went by fast.

On Tuesday we headed north out of the casino back on the Clermont Express and at the fork we took trail 383 to the first local trail. Since my buddy's Apex SE was due for it's first oil change we headed to the dealer in Laterierre on 368 and after about an hour we were back on the trail. We kept heading west on 368 and caught 383 down to La Boulinaire. 383 is pretty rough. It had exposed rocks and many corners were icey. When we left Boulinaire we hit the quad trail for a few miles which saved my suspension. We then went back to the HS to check back in and left again heading back out 83 to the local trail heading north, then took a right on 383 and did a loop. Other than 383 around La Boulinaire trails were pretty good.

We left yesterday from HS to drive back to Connecticut. When we left at about 6:45am there was about 4 inches on the ground. They were expecting between 5 to 8 inches and it was VERY windy out. Glad I wasn't riding in the fields. All in all we did about 760 miles in 3 1/2 days.

We rode sunday mondAy and Tuesday out of the HS and found some real good riding once we got north of the river. Anything 15 miles out of the HS was terrible!! 83 to Shipshaw was the worst i ever rode in quebec! We are in Baie Comeau right now and TQ3 is flat and fast!! Sorry we missed you Bill, see you on our next trip!

Friday Sig, John, farmerold and I rode 185 miles. Rode up to Relais Ontachiway. We were having a coffee about 10:30A and the snow was just starting. Went over to Scooby Raid for lunch, snowing all the way over. After lunch and heading back we where in the fields. Wind was blowing real hard and it was snowing real hard. Decided to take the shortest route back to the . Good ride, good friends and good time. Snowed and blowed until about midnight.
