Yesterday farmerold, Sig, John and I did the "Tour du Lac St Jean" run. 265 miles. Can't cross the river at Relais des Buttes, most go to Normandin on 93. Knowing this, next time I'll go up the river south of St Felicien. Great day, nice temps and sunny.

John, Sig, farmerold and I rode 200 miles today. Went up to L Etape. We got snow last night, this morning and this evening. Trails had not been groomed in a couple of days and their was a lot of traffic the past two days. Since Fri we have gotten about 12" of snow.

Need to update the last 3 days. Monday Willys1 joined us. We went up to the truck stop for lunch and put on 230 miles. Tuesday we hooked onto the Clermont Express and rode mostly all fresh groomed trails to and from. Put on 260 miles for the day. Today we only rode 145 miles. Had to get back so farmerold could load up his sleds as today was his last day. I also unhooked my trailer as I am heading home Sat AM to pickup my wife and will come back Monday. Sunday is a must watch TV day for me as my Giants are in the Super Bowl.

Tomorrow we are going to make the big loop from here to Baie St Catherine, Mont Valin and back. Last time I did this it was a 280 mile day.

Bill , are you still selling trail passes , I have some friends going up in a couple of weeks looking to get a pass before they go up?

Chris

I am in Quebec now. The mail service up here is not the best. I would love to sell but I don't believe you would get them in time.

Hi Bill, i am heading your way tomorrow, not sure where the group (we're 6) wants to park it for the night yet. We'll be leaving from Shawinagan at 9 am and heading up to Lac St.Jean via Lac Bouchette trail maybe i can convince the guys to stay at the HS and pay you a visit before you head home.

We make the big loop today. It was 266 miles. Trails were great till we got to 3. I don't believe 3 going to Baie St Catherine has been groomed this year. After crossing the ferry 3 and 93 up C 900 was nlot much better. About 20 miles from KM 31 trails got much better and were good all the way back. Left the HS at 7:30 back at 5:30. We could tell where the Caribou-Conscrits had broken down by the trail conditions.

Today Sig, John Willys1 and I rode 170 miles. Left the HS at 8:30AM, it was -14F when we left, stopped at Ski-Bee-Doo for coffee, rode up to Scooby Doo for a 1 hour lunch and back at 3PM. That tells you what the trails were like, 170 miles in 5 hours of riding. Trails were sweet.

Hi Bill

Sorry i could`nt make it to the HS, the group opted for the Chauteau Roberval, would`ve been nice to have met up with you again. This morning we left Shawinagan and parked it in Roberval giving us 455klms on our meters. I met some guys from Boston this morning at the Gouverneur, they`re riding a Mach z 1000 and a black Yamaha, they were going to the HS tonight. If you speak with them ask them why they were turning back to Lac Edward, tell them i said hi.

I`ll be back

Hi Bill. Glad to see you made it home safe.

We rode with VT Bill and VT Dave today. We took the 383 detour and crossed the river at St Charles. We went thru Labrecque on 328 and then up to 367 to St Monique. We then came back down 93 and gassed in St Henri. We continued on to Alma and crossed the river via the auto bridge. We got on 23 and made our way to Ski Bee Doo for lunch. A few changes in the trails around Ski Bee Doo. We saw signs for it but they kept saying only 12 more kms.

We parted with Bill and Dave who headed off to Lac Eduard. We worked our way back down to pick up 83 and headed back to the HS.

North of the river the trails were perfect. Around Ski Bee Doo they showed a little wear and tear from the weekend traffic. All in all a very good day in paradise.

Oh, I almost forgot. Hi Ethan, the trails are great this year! :yahoo: Hope to see you soon.

Jack & Sandi :)

Roads were bare in one lane on 175 but in good condition. Made it home in 6 hours and 15 minutes. Stopped at Tim Horton's in Sherbrooke for a sandwich and coffee and then was about 10 minutes at the border, 4 cars ahead of me.

Today was a short day for me, 160 miles. Had to get back so my wife could go to the hairdresser. The price I pay for snowmobiling all winter.

Michiganrev and racersinc continued on for another 90 miles.

Alot of snowmobilers came in tonight. Among them was smclelan and Ross. smclelan told me Andyman and his group had a break down in St Felicien.

Bill - take a deep breath of that wonderful canadian air for me. I haven't been able to get up there for a couple of years now, but it is nice to be able to live vicariously through your reports. Its getting a little depressing here in western Mass wearing tee shirts in Feb and looking at all the snirt. Post some pics for us.

Thanks - J.P.

BTW, is Michrev the one we rode with that had the bar risers and incredible oil consumption problem a few years back??

Yesterday racersinc, Michiganrev, m&mGTRIDER and I went to the casino for lunch. Awesome trails, 250 miles. Got on board the Clearmont Express and it was just great, 250 miles for the day. When we came thru Clearmont it was 33F, got to Jonquiere, it was down to 5F.

Hi Bill,

I been reading your posts and sounds like you guys are putting on the miles. Dave has been sending videos and I sure do miss riding in Quebec. Hopefully next year. If I was retired Dave and I would come more than once a year. Tell Dean I said hi and ride safe.
