Left the DS this morning, actually a day early. Conditions north of the river should hold up. In and out of the DS are very poor. It was 44 degrees this morning when we left. There were 7 guys at the hotel yesterday that put their sleds on 2 flat beds to get back to their truck somewhere south. We ended up doing about 1000 miles in 4 1/2 days of which we rode with Sagueny Bill for 3 of them.

Thanks for the report but not what I wanted to hear. I am headed up at 3am tomorrow morning. Hope to be droping new Quebec City and riding up. Hopefully they get a few inches between now and then.

I drove to NH this morning. I could not get over the snow loss thru the park. 175 looked like it usually looks when I come home in mid March. There was more snow in the Saguenay Valley and Quebec City there in the park. Headed back up tomorrow, see what they get if any,

We wish you luck mxz. Quebec City doesn't sound good if 7 guys hired a truck to bring them down from Lac St Jean. We're still aiming at driving up Sunday Feb 3rd to the Lac. I really don't want to drive to Abittibi.

The guys I talked to were 5 guys from Ontario. They had left their trucks at the Ontario/Quebec border. It cost them $2100 for the truck, driver of the truck and for the van. i talked to them just as the truck was pulling out and they were closing the van door. They did have a case of cold beer iced down in the van for the long drive, 6 hours so they told me, to get to their trucks. I didn't get the town in Quebec that they were headed for..

Can't imagine why anyone would consider going up to those conditions? Maybe don't have to drive to the Abitibi how about driving to St. Zenon and RIDE to the Abitibi where there are good conditions. Don't over think this guys you know what you gotta do if you want to really ride on snow :clapping:

Well last night at about 10PM we decided to bail. My 6 buddies that are up there right now are getting trailered to the snow and back to the trucks. They will make there decision once they reach them and decided to go north on 3 if at all passable. I will report back once I hear from them.

Today the PEI 2 and I rode 125 miles. Left at 11AM back at 5:30PM. Trails from the Delta to the bridge had had the groomer run over them. There were spots that were not good, others that were decent. Once we got across the 2nd bridge the trails got better. It ain't the normal trail conditions but it's OK for me. It won't be for some folk but for me it's OK. If riding on icey trails is not your thing then it is not for you.

Bill do you think it would be possible to ride the 93 from Mont Valin around the north side of the lake to Roberval then the 83 to R22???? I understand there is low snow around Alma and Hebertville.

Thanks Andy

Last I heard St Felicein area had very little snow and Roberval even less. GTRider got down from Chibamaga to Scooby Raid. I haven't talked to him but was told he and Gemma made it down OK. He might be able to give you some more insite. Tou can get around St Felicein by taking the local trail off of 373 to the river and then get back on 373 and then take the local trail towards St Hedwick then take 83 that goes to R22.

Today the PEI 2 and I rode 200 miles. Didn't start til 9:45 as one of the sleds didn't want to start. When out over the 2 bridges then on the "pickle park trail" to 328 east to 93. Had lunch at KM 31. The back onto 93 to 267 to 477, Onatchiway. Then down 267 to 328 to the "pickle park trail". Then the 2 bridges back to the DS. Had a nice day,

I've got first hand knowledge that these trails are all pretty good. They are thin and a bit icey but flat and fast. Also 369 and 23 just south of Mt. Apica are good. You can launch from Beaupre if you know where to park close to trail 3.

Made it to Hebertville from Beaupre but rode dirt for 20-30 miles in the rain. Absolutely no snow in the southern Lac St. Jean area. Got trailered back (6 sleds) 30 miles to Mt. Apica for the tune of $900. Ugh!

Its really disappointing how some people screw others like that. Glad you got back but honestly why do they have to charge $900. I hope they need help some day and some one treats them right so they can appreciate life and understand their wrong.

Today PEI2, revct1 and 2 and I rode 245 miles. Went out 383, to local 21 to 83 and then down the "Clermont Express". Some these trails were the best I've ever ridden on. Came back 83 all the way. The Saguenay clib has done wonders with what they to work with. Had lunch at "Truck Stop #2". Great day. The PEI 2 guys left for home this evening.

Hey Bill,

Met you last year at the HI(then) we were the group from NH, you have been to my brothers restaurant on Lake Winnipesaukee. Anyway, we were scheduled to be up your way tmrw leaving from Quebec city, to the casino, then the your area and Roberval.

We decided to postpone our trip and maybe head up Feb 20-25. Any thoughts?? any snow in forecast? do you think trails will recover by then or should we wait. Loved riding Mt Vallin last year, there must of been 10 feet of snow up there. Wish that was the case this year.

Any suggestions or trail conditions/updates would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your commitment and congrats on your magazine article.

I was told today that Trail 3 east of QC was closed. 4 guys from PA drove up here today from QC. As far as the weather, check this site.

I can't tell you much about other places. I am riding every day up here.

revct1, 2 and I rode 125 miles today. Spent 2hours this morning putting ice scratchers on sleds. It was -18F at noon time at Scooby Raid today. Trails were great. Clubs are using the rototillers to break up the hard packed snow with and it is making a huge difference on the trails.

Today revct1 and 2, the Quarrytown PA 4 and I rode 160 miles. Rode up to KM 31 for lunch and back. Had about 2" of snow down here in the valley and more up in the mountains. Trails were very good. Rototillers were out and about. They are doing a great job with them.
