Brdgbldr85
Wed this week in Quebec City feb 20, there was a fresh 8 inches of snow to coat the trails. Headed east for the Charlevoix Casino, it kept on snowing and snowing. Continued riding that day and the snow never stopped, by 3 pm within 20 miles of the Casino it started blowing. Now had a fresh 20 inches of snow, but wet enough to drive thru well. Had decided to run trail 378 from the south to the east and most of this trail was very poorly marked. Ended up a farmer guided us to the trail head and later got a local very helpful Police escort by road to get to the Manior. Got stranded for an addiional day at the Manior so it was safe to guide return to Quebec City with families. Dont run trail 378 again especially with the new snowfall Easier to get trail 3 to Clermont and come in from notth on local trails, mileaage is only 5-8 miles more. All of Charlevoix region got from 30 to 45 inches of new snow thru pm of Thursday 2-22-13, Clubs were still getting trails cleared after our return yesterday to Quebec City, so much new snow now on trails need some night time cold and packing to make good. Got back to Quebec Inn by 4pm Friday and all trails were in good ridable condition locally, just the usual alot of traffic going east out of the city on 3. Going dog sled riding today with families riding this afternoon locally and heading back home Sunday 2-24. Will add some pictures later tonight. The snow line goes from Mt St Anne and east for the new 20 plus inches. brdgbldr85

Brdgbldr85
The trip with the families were good, stopped at the Relais on the way out to warm up and dry off, temps were low 20s, but with all the snow on the way out and trail breaking passengers got snowed in and wet butts. Worked out well waiting it out an extra day to ride back in the sunshine. Wasn't too disappointing to stay an extra day at the Manior Casino. Got alot of swim time and R&R in. Wallet toke a beating staying and buying extra meals. Great trip families rode 600 miles in 4.5 days of riding. Trails around Quebec City sure get beat up due to traffic on Saturdays, groomers can't keep up especiaaly if temps are too close to 32 F.
